Completely unrelated but I just realised that yesterdays reveal had another implication. There was a decent amount of effort put into that FMV just for a character reveal. Hopefully that means they'll put in an equal amount of effort into the games opening cinematic unlike the rubbish one Brawl had.

Seriously. That was a gorgeous video, all to reveal a single new character. The opening cinematic deserves at LEAST that much love.

everytime I see the trailer I always focus in on WFT unintentionally, I almost forget that she is suppose to be extremely flexible lol

So I spent all day today doing this useless thing:

I think it'd be neat if the character select screen was ordered by franchise icons, and when you click on said icons, the respective characters pop out next to them.
And I repeated F-Zero's icon for Star Fox cause I couldn't find a render of their logo. Same with Wii Fit Trainer, who just got Smash as a substitute.

Useless! But fun to do, I guess. Also somewhat my predictions.

Brawl's was mainly just cut and pasted scenes from the SSE. Hopefully with that out of the way, we'll get a nice original cinematic... preferably something to do with them being toy figures like in the original.

Considering all videos so far, it seems like they've completely dropped the trophy/figurine imagery at least. So, I don't think they'd go in that direction.

Yeah it seems from the trailers so far that it isnt going for a toy or figure theme, but more of "we're actually inviting the real characters from their parts of the nintendo universe to come fight in the smash brothers tournament!" which is kinda how I always seen it personally.

I don't think anyone used the word surprised. I just had a thought that the opening may be Melee tier instead of Brawl tier if they are putting this amount of effort for reveal trailers. I mean the Villager and Wii Fit Trainer only had rather short CG trailers so there was no indication until yesterday about how much effort they may put into these cinematics.
