Xbox One available for in store purchase at local retailers.

and some might still try to view it as xbone not selling. funny how that works, huh?

It's pretty easy to see that it IS selling when Xbox One is in stock at Amazon AND is a top selling product where as the PS4 is out of stock and doesn't even rank in the top 100 in the video game section.

You are not seeing double, I am beside myself.

Anecdotal reports aside, if they are starting to stick in inventory, Microsoft will either put up a monster number for December or have something to worry about come January, not too dissimilar from Wii U of last year. I'm leaning more towards monster-ish and less worrisome.

December NPD thread will be VISCERAL

PS4 is at 60. It had a big restock earlier in the week, but nothing since then, so it's falling down the chart. It's clear that Xbox One is Amazon US's best console seller for the past couple of weeks though. MS restocks them, they sell out, then they stock them again.

I like your Cap N' Crunch remark.

The point is that it doesn't take much investigative work to see that MS is doing a better job at keeping the supply chain filled than Sony (in the US) and that Xbone consoles are moving to consumer hands at a very healthy rate.

Yep, I agree that the Xbox is selling really well

I'm glad I haven't run across any here in Las Vegas. Doubt the wife would be too happy at a $500 impulse buy sitting right next to last month's $400 impulse buy.
I was just shopping at the target on Blue Diamond and Arville. They have some there

I don't care who wins the console race but you have to be foolish to think that they're not selling. Major online retailers still routinely sell out their stock whenever it's replenished. Sure it might take a few hours or days even but they sell out regardless. Numbers sold is still numbers sold; it doesn't matter how quickly it happened.

They got 30 or so Xbox One at Walmart here yesterday afternoon. Had 6-7 left this morning. They hoped to get in some PS4 in the afternoon but I didn't hear if that happened or not.

You could have walked into a Target on the midnight release and picked one up then without a pre-order. I'm not shocked they aren't selling really. Easy to look stocked when they aren't selling.

I'm expecting good to great December numbers (in console launch terms) and a worrisome January number.

I think demand @ $500 has almost all burned away.

Went to 2 Gamestops and there was a sign in front of the door that says they have Xbox Ones in stock. Demand has dropped badly, i guess all the hardcores bought it already and the casuals are waiting for PS4.

I think you're vastly underestimating Microsoft's ability to supply retailers. "In Stock" doesn't mean "not selling".

You're letting Gaffer's posting pictures of Xbox One's get the best of you.

I'd expect gigantic North American sales for December. I think it's one reason Microsoft dropped the larger list of launch countries. Focus on the area where you have the most to offer consumers.

I'd venture to say that Sony is probably selling a similar amount of PS4s, they're just selling them all over the globe...so their North American stock is lower... and that's why you're seeing less restocks.

Trolling? They're selling very well. If Sony had the supply of the XB1 Sony would be selling better but they don't. Sony has more demand, Microsoft has more supply. I won't be surprised if Xbox sells more in December.

Gentlemen, I know that Microsoft would like you to believe that this console is scarce, but it has been anything but. Let's please stop the charade.

That is exactly the reason. Glad to see you figured it out.

MS is flooding the market and picking up the non-hardcore with POS purchases. By having it in stock and hammering advertising they are looking to bring in the casual audience.

I'm interested in how Sony is looking at their supply issues. By going really wide, they are taking over ancillary markets, but that won't move the needle. You think Sony would rather have the 80k consoles sold in Spain or the US?

Kmart has them in my local area. Probably because no respectable citizen should enter there. I am not respectable. If you go bring backup.

Just be patient, I'm sure one will be available soon. Do you already have The One?

I taste a little bit of vomit in my mouth every time I read your posts referring to the Xbox One as "The One".

No seriously, you think that will catch on or something? It looks and sounds ridiculous.

Saw 2 Xbones (shortly later down to 1) and 1 PS4 at the Target in Pflugerville a couple of nights ago.

This is just a quick search for Best Buys with bundle-less consoles in stock near my office. Please tell me again how scarce they are.

Xbox appears to have a pretty good supply flow. I find it odd that the ps4 has been sold out everywhere for weeks yet its only selling for cost or $50 on craigs. Would have thought the demand would be higher and they would be selling for more considering xmas is next week.

I think the better XB1 NA availability is due to two things:

1) Higher PS4 demand.
2) MS is focusing more supply in NA.

It wouldn't surprise me if MS leads XB1 NA holiday sales and sony leads worldwide.

It wouldn't surprise me if Sony leads everywhere actually. XBO sitting on shelves while PS4 instantly sell out are hardly a good sign for Microsoft. It's been like that for days.

If the stores are getting many fewer PS4s in their shipments then them "selling out" doesn't really tell you that much.

The Sam's Club I work at in Indy had 8 come in Tuesday I believe. There were 5 left yesterday. They're still not sure when PS4's will be in stock.

I don't think PS4 shipments are that lower because :

- PS4 sold more than XBO at launch in the US, so at least at that time shipments were more than fine and on par with XBO. Demand was just too high.

- US is the last country Sony needs for a complete global domination, so they probably already ship the most they can there. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.

- anecdotal evidence shows US shops received multiple PS4 big shipments, it's just it's selling out really fast due to higher demand.

Nothing new, but I've seen multiple Xbox Ones in the wild lately.

Never seen a PS4 yet, which is good because I don't need the temptation.

I'm just going by what a friend who works at Target told me. He said they've gotten double the amount of shipments of Xbox Ones and they come in 8-10 versus 2 per box of PS4s.
