So I came off an interesting discovery that might intrest fellow Halo lovers.

I love Jazz, listen to it all the time and was listening to one of my most favorite pieces by Charles Mingus when I noticed this at the 2:30 marker. If you don't want to listen to the whole song you can skip ahead to that part and let your mind be blown. To me at least, Piano in Canon is nearly identical in key and rhythm to the the Piano in Halo 3 One Final Effort.

Feel free to listen for your selves and let me know how close you think they actually are. I'm hoping my ears aren't totally off.

*not sure if this is an off-topic subject*

I can see where you are coming from they do kinda sound similar. ODST is probably the better sound track to find similarities with jazz.

Not similar enough to be in any way notable.

The jazz song seems like it's using triplets and the halo song is using more traditional timing.

they need to put some eminem in the next halo

They need to stop pandering to idiots in the next Halo. I like Eminem but his music doesn't suit Halo. It suits something like Call of Duty or Battlefield.

Halo doesn't lend itself to anything like that. Halo has more class than that. Thats why you can see (hear rather) the jazz and orchestral music lending itself to the series because of how grandiose it really is. there is some good electronica in the Halo 4 soundtrack, and the Halo community has created VERY good electronica that would fit very well in the scheme of Halo.

I think what makes it sound similar is the rise in -- oh hell, I know fuck all about music -- the pitch? They both follow a similar pattern of Start -- Rising -- Rising -- Falling, with a similar range of sound in notes. But they otherwise sound different beyond that surface similarity, to me.
