Three in January - New Year, new games from the Steam sale

Real second semester starts in february. I will probably knock out way more than 3. 3d world seems guaranteed. Probably also fire emblem awakening, w101, nsmbu, and zelda lbtw.

On the downloadable side, probably gonna finish crimson shroud and the last puzzles in pushmo.

Super Mario 3D World - Just finished world 6.

Pikmin 3 - Just beat the second boss.

A Link Between Worlds - Not started yet.

All right, new year, (mostly) new games! I'm going to circle back and finish some PS4 titles to start off the year, then dive head first into a probably super long RPG.

Contrast
Killzone: Shadow Fall
Tales of Xillia
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

Brothers really depends on its release date for PS+, if it is looking like I won't have time to finish Xillia, i will probably pop in MGS3. Going to try to get a replay of 3 and 4 done before Ground Zeroes in March.

Didn't rack up too much damage during the steam sale.

My list for this month looks like this

1) Tales of Xillia (I think I'm 55% of the way done right now)
2) Fallout 3
3) GTAV

Should be easy I think.

I dunno man. Never played the first game you listed but those last two games are really easy to get lost in and sink hours upon hours into

1) Wonderful 101 (Just finished Operation 003. Quickly checked a guide and apparently, I'm about 1/3rdish done? At any rate, really enjoying this one, and hopefully I'll finish it in time to finish my 2013 GotY list)
2) Spelunky (lol, probably the toughest one here. Farthest I've gotten so far is 2-3; not giving up yet though~)
3) New Super Mario Bros U (Just finished 3D World, so probably won't be tackling this too soon.)

Working on these

1. Mario 64 (emu)
2. Pokemon X
3. Ducktales Remastered (PC) - Finished on hard mode
4. Castlevania: Lords or Shadow (PC)

My list for the month:

1. Batman: Arkham Asylum
2. Batman: Arkham City
3. Batman: Arkham Origins

Huge Batman fan, so playing this series is long overdue. About four hours into Asylum at the moment!

Killer is Dead[PS3] - finished
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance[PS3] - in progress
Tom Clancy Splinter Cell: Blacklist[Wii U]

KiD was much shorter than I anticipated. Nothing else to do but grind for costumes so I'll do that down the road when I'm not busy.

So far I'm on pace to beat a game a day. Can't do much better than that!

Let's scrape some almost-complete games of our list then...

1. Limbo
2. Torchlight
3. Final Fantasy IV Interlude

Bonus:
Ys The Oath in Felghana
Long Live the Queen

Someone got some games during the steam sale.

Sorry to go off topic Grief, and I know youve been asked this like a million times, but how did you remove the spaces in your grid-view on Steam?

As for my backlog:

1. Finish post game on Super Mario 3D World
2. Ys I
3. ALBW
4. Minervas Den
5. Finish Arkham Origins
6. The Last of Us

Just finished yesterday:

Assassin's Creed 4

Plan for the month:

999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
Final Fantasy XIII-2

This list is subject to change depending on whether or not I hate XIII-2 as much as XIII.

Steam/Resource/Layout/gamespage_grid

interiorspacing and GridView.DropShadowLeading set to 00

I've also had success Steam/Skins/*Skin Name*/Resource/Layout/gamespage_grid

mirroring those values set in the main gamespage file.

From there, play with the slider in grid mode to make them close together.

I just started Dark Souls and Heavy Rain for the first time on Jan 1st.

Dark Souls is as splendid as ever
I really thought the game was significantly harder than DeS when I first encountered those skeletal assholes had no idea that game brilliantly led me into a high difficulty area just to learn how to parry and riposte, incredible game design there.

Heavy Rain....I'm not liking much. The controls are beyond terrible and the story seems pretty meh. I'll give it an extra hour to reel me in.

I'm tempted to buy Civ 5 but I'm not sure if my macbook pro can run it.

Civ V is well optimized and pretty easy to run, it is essentially heroin though.

First time posting in these type of threads. Hopefully, this will get me motivated to complete some stuff.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - Started this, but haven't touched it in the past month.

The Last Of Us - Played about an hour.

The Wonderful 101 - In about the fourth mission

Bonus - Want to complete everything in Super Mario 3D World. Have opened up and yet to finish
Crown World
.

Thanks a lot :)

I accidentally half-assed last month (I wasn't really participating, but I did finish two titles, a) TWD: S2E1 and b) The Wolf Among Us), but this month I'll be trying to pave the way to moving the previous gen consoles to another room.

1) Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Chapter 4-4, almost done!) - XB1
2) Rain - PS3
3) The Unfinished Swan - PS3

BONUS:

4) Tomb Raider - X360
5) Brothers - X360

Since a few of these are short:

DOUBLE BONUS:

6) Jurassic Park: The Game - X360
7) Alan Wake's American Nightmare - X360

Already one down but it was only Sonic 1 on 3DS so that's not much of a time investment.

Aiming to finish a couple of Christmas games this month, Mario 3D World for 100% for sure (in progress). Maybe Puppeteer on PS3 or something on Steam.

To do that 52 game challenge thing I have to beat 4.33 games a month so I'm hoping to do 4-5 this month.

EDIT: beat Sonic 1, playing Mario 3D World on Wii U and Rayman Fiesta Run on iOS. This shouldn't be too hard!

1. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Duel Destinies (3DS) - beat January 1st
2. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (PSP) - beat January 15th
3. Earthbound (WiiU VC) - beat January 20th

Bonus games:
4. Cloudberry Kingdom (WiiU) - beat January 26th
5. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (3DS VC) - beat January 28th
6. Fallout 3 (360) - beat January 29th

I haven't picked 3 yet, but I've already beat

Max Anarchy (PS3) - Hard Mode Black Side Start completed, still going for platinum)

I don't normally do resolutions but I'm going to try really hard this year to get through 4 backlog games every month.

For January I am going to try for:

1. Koudelka - PS
2. Sorcery Saga - Vita
3. Zombie revenge - Dreamcast
4. ??? -- not sure on the fourth yet.

Good luck to everyone!

I have so much backlog that it's difficult to choose.

By february I want to complete at least three of this list:

  • Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (PS4) - I'm at the end of Sequence 4
  • Tearaway (PSVITA) - Just started
  • Super Mario 3D World (Wii U) - I'm at the beginning of World 8 with Mario
  • The Wonderful 101 (Wii U) - Just started
  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (Xbox One) - I'm at Mission 5 of 12
  • Brothers a Tale of Two Sons (PC) - Just buyed

Great thread. Let's see what happens.

-The Legend of Zelda : A link To The Past : started this 2 days ago, I'm halfway through I guess (third palace in the dark world). Never played this proper, just bits. It really is near perfect. Love the dark atmosphere. Will beat it in the next few days.

-Velocity Ultra+ on Vita. Will try to beat it this month, seems very doable as I already completed 20 missions.

-Deadly Premonition on 360. I failed to grab it on Steam so I guess my unplayed 360 version will do. I'm planning on starting this once I beat Zelda.

-Also planning to start and beat Papers, Please in 2-3 sittings. Will depend on my schedule though.

I will also play some Persona 3 Portable on Vita. Played this like 10h last month but had to quit because of finals. Won't beat it this month of course, as I plan it to be my long term game of the trimester.

1. TLOZ: ALBW
2. Lost Odyssey
3. Final Fantasy IX (Vita)
4. Fire Emblem: Awakening (a guy can dream)

Looking at that list, I really have to wonder where the last year has gone. Those middle two games have been on my backlog since 2009.

Been a while since I signed on for this but I really need to cut my backlog down.

1. The Stanley Parable - Not started
2. Long Live the Queen - Died twice, super addictive.
3. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Trying to get all three stars on the first run is killing me
4. Super House of Dead Ninjas - Died more than twice, super additctive.

Extra Credit
Papers, Please: GOTY cleanup. hope I have time to get to it.
Race the Sun: Not sure if I can beat this.
Divekick: Same as above and equally as addicting.
Injustice: Gods Among Us: Try and finish the story mode at least.

Here's to cleaning out the backlog.

Okay so I think I'll actually do it this month
AC 4
KZ sf
Binary domain
DmC
D3 (for the third time)
Bonus:
Hotline Miami
Contrast
Resogun
Edit: forgot GTAV might as well finish that deal

Have fun man. It's not impossible, but that's quite the task ahead of you.

What version of Sonic are you playing? Just started the Vita version, and it's surprisingly enjoyable.

Pretty sure I can do this.

Little Inferno - Complete, almost doesn't count.
Lego Marvel - It's Mahvel!
Metroid Prime? or Marvel Ultimate Alliance?

Maybe I'll hit four. Unlikely I'll beat Persona 4 Golden this month, but I'll be playing it.

I'm going for:

Call of Duty Ghosts
Battlefield 4
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

But will also play through Brothers, Gone Home and The Stanley Parable, as they are shorter games. Possibly even others. I'm making sure to play through a lot this one.

Edit: And The Swapper. Why not!

One down: crimson shroud completed. What a
downer ending
that was. I wonder if
anything different happens in ng+ endings?

Here we go! My first time doing this:

-Europa Universalis IV: can't really beat this game, so I just want to put in as many hours as I paid for it ($10 = 10 hours), but I will probably put in way more

-Borderlands 2: just started this one so I don't know if I can beat it

-Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds: really gotta finish this one.

Welp, finished 10 hours today so that's done. Still feel like I need to play more though.

-Gone Home
looks easy ...

-Link Between Worlds
Must finish the last 1/3 of the game

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Shadowrun Returns
Don't Starve

Light month, my backlog of things I actually feel like playing is pretty empty.
