As someone that HATES Smash Bros, I had a surprising amount of fun with the beta of PS All Stars. Not so much fun I'd actually want to buy it, but it provided me with more fun than than Smash Bros ever has, so that's something. And hey, when the game eventually ends up free on PS Plus I'll give it another go.

How does anyone HATE smash bros?
 
I'm a real dumb dumb .. how do you access the trophy list when you're in the middle of a game?

Also beat my first Vita game last night - Uncharted.

Very easily. I just can't stand the knocking people off the stage mechanic. The roster also means nothing to me as I grew up with Sega and then Sony, so a big part of the appeal is lost on me anyway. Believe it or not the roster in PS All Stars actually appeals more to me. Also it probably doesn't help that I only actually played Smash Bros in single player after borrowing Melee from a friend.

Just press the home button during gameplay and switch to trophy?

Caved and bought/downloaded Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Damn I suck at this haha. Guess I need to learn how this game works because I'm going nowhere at the moment. Between this and Soul Sacrifice looks like I've got my work cut out for me. I don't have money at the moment but I also really just want to download Tearaway because of how good everyone says it is... ugh.

I'm the same way when it comes to the characters I like. And while it sucks real hard that there are some important characters missing, what's there is still really great. Being able to put Sweet Tooth, Ratchet, Cole, and Kat in one battle? Or Spike, Jak, Drake, and Sir Dan? For a Sony fanboy like myself that's a fucking dream come true.

That's odd. They took my payment for an orderon the 29th, left Japan on the 1st, arrived in Ireland yesterday afternoon. I wonder how long it'll be in the sorting office. I want my game now.


Maybe cards take longer to get a hold of to ship?
 
Valhalla Knights 3 is... interesting. Not just for that, either. I'm not even that far into it, and I feel like I need to finish this and write a spoiler filled LTTP for it, which would probably get 2 replies, but the game is worth it.
 
So I'm playing my Vita every morning on the bus ride to work now, and my go to game has been Wipeout 2048. I can get through a pretty decent amount of events in the 30 minutes or so it takes for me to get to my stop, and if I get there early, it's not like I lose a lot of progress turning everything off and putting it away. Yeah, I know I can use sleep mode, but I'd rather just turn it all off.

Anyways, do you guys have any suggestions for other games that'd be good for short bursts? I enjoy Spelunky, and I'll use sleep mode if I'm on a good run in that, for what it's worth.

I'm looking forward to playing DBZ and duke Nukem this year, maybe some borderlands 2.

That's if I ever kick this Terraria addiction. Only two bosses beat and I have more than 20hrs with the game.

Kart racers are generally good in short bursts so sonic all star racers.( I also like modnation but I recommend it only if you can get it for dirt cheap)

Terraria is a great pick up and play game though you should try te demo before commuting to it.

Treasures of montezuma is a f2p bejeweled clone that I still play. Might be worth a try?

Ultimately every Vita should have Super Stardust and if yours doesn't, well, we can't be best friends. One of the best games on the system and it was made for high-score chasing.

And stop with this tomfoolery, vita sleep mode was handed down to us by Prometheus himself. No need to be quitting out of your games!

I've wanted to get this game eventually. Even though we aren't probably not getting the gold version of this game, the fact the gold version exists makes me not want to get the current version.

Well we should play together sometime, when you need some help with Avalon Pact. Mine also have problem, though you still far off to be able to deal with pact.

Rayman games are pretty awesome in short bursts, I found I liked Origins a little more than Legends so you may be able to find a good price on it somewhere.

Tearaway is a great game, I personally only play it in short bursts but that would probably require the sleep option for your situation.
 
Proud to say Tearaway was my first completed Vita game. Really took me back how it constantly pit a smile on my face and probably the cutest ending I've ever witnessed.

Been plowing through the spelunky demo and I'm really hooked. Wanna get the full game but I'm scared it will go on sale soon and I'm already picking up some retail titles to kill my rpg cravings. Something tells me my will won't hold though.

Runner 2 is a must buy. Look into DJMAX Technika Tune as well; playlists are only three to four songs long so it's great to play in short bursts.

Also, and bear with me here, Angry Birds Star Wars. If you can find it cheap, it's pretty addictive.

I would recommend it if you like awkward, slow, off the beaten path PS2 style RPGs. There's a lot to like through all the jank.

Well Christmas + steam sale dug my backlog deeper than it already was. We'll see what the price of the game is once I knock out a bunch of games off my list. Who knows, just maybe we'll see the gold edition by then, though I am not holding my breathe for it.

Great, my parcel arrived from NipponYasan. Three days from Japan is great!

Hmm, they cheekily marked the value of a vita game as 400 yen and marked it as a gift to get through customs. Lol

I almost never played Smash Bros alone and neither did any of my friends. If they nail the online with the new one, that could turn you around.

I enjoyed Playstation All-stars too but it really didn't even come close to Smash Bros for me.

Excuse my ignorance on the game/series, but what exactly do you mean by that?
 
I don't like Smash Bros. because I don't like how it plays, and I've been boggled for years how it got popular as a fighting game, but I do at least love the roster.

5stars are no joke, I think you need to level up a bit and more importantly, get better spells before you love on. I think I'm at 30/60 and can only now do 6-7stars with ease.

SS people, which timezone y'all at? I'm after some coop, but I belive I'm the only one on GMT -2 in the thread, so managing to get online together might be.. not easy.

Yeah you kind of have to play these games with friends to get the full benefit. If PSABR had the knock off mechanic I would have been better I think. The resource denial stuff is just not as fun, but the characters are way cooler.
 
A norwegian retailer is selling Resistance: Burning Skies, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance, Lumines: Electronic Symphony, Ridge Racer, ModNation Racers: Road Trip for ~5£ each, any of them worth grabbing?
 
Man i suck TOO much at Armored Core Last Raven Portable, i can't even beat 2 of the 3 missions you can choose from as first mission, and in the one i can beat i just have to destroy structures with almost no enemies... :(
Please help!
