Super Smash Bros Wii U & 3DS Thread 4: New Year, Old Arguments

If Kid Icarus gets 3 reps, and Medusa is a boss and Magnus is an Assist Trophy, then who the fuck else is there? I highly doubt there will be a Tropical Freeze stage because the game hasn't even come out yet. There was no Super Mario Galaxy stage in Brawl, nor was there a Luigi's Mansion stage in Melee. Nintendo doesn't necessarily care about advertising their newest games like that.

To be fair, Mario Galaxy was scheduled to come out after Brawl until the delay, Tropical Freeze was pretty much ready in November, I don't think it's too weird that it might get a stage in Smash 4, especially as they can probably "lift" the assets, which comes out months later.

Harry from Teleroboxer was never even considered. He's 'not sure Nintendo even remembers he exists'
This has to be the most random point. Is this GameFAQs obscure character of the month or something?

Hades will never be a playable character. Might as well add Ghirahim, Vaati, Wart, Tatanga, Foreman Spike, Tiki Tong, Marx, and every other one-off villain to the roster.

I've always considered giving the second rep choice for Kid Icarus to Phosphora. Hasn't really been a character that attacks with primarily electricity.

How do you know he is one off?

Why would satan be a one off character in a game filled with gods?

A matter of fact , how the hell do you now if KI is even getting any more games? What are you basing or logic off of ?

Hades isn't a one-off villain.

EDIT: er wait, maybe not. Thought he was in the Gameboy game? guess i was wrong despite beating it and all..

EDIT2: that was orcos, im stupid

"Thorntail Hollow"

Rumor debunked.

And I think Nintendo prefers to think that King K Rool doesn't exist anymore. So no way he'll be a boss.

That's interesting. I always thought "Tetris blocks" would make a good Assist Trophy. They fall from the sky and you try to avoid them, kinda like Unown.

Did anyone actually get all the CDs "legitimately"? Everyone I know used the State Builder trick.

I did got all CDs legitimately. I never depend on Stage Builder for CDs.

I had four wavebirds and a CD/Sticker making MACHINE. All I had to do was mash an A button on one controller while four Yoshis helplessly dtilted sandbags for a couple hours. I just changed the input on the TV and did something else.

I consider the exploit more than legitimate.

Again, salt, but Paper Mario, Isaac, Krystal and Ridley? There's no way all four of those characters are getting in. I'd be surprised if even one makes it.

And three KI reps but no new Fire Emblem character? Ummmmmmmmmmmmm...

What's the trick?

I never did get all the CDs, I think. I didn't get all the trophies. Probably not the stickers either. Brawl was jam packed with stuff... but in the case of some of those extra collectibles, just felt like too much of a grind to get all of. I enjoyed the quick moments of cooperation that would happen when a sticker or CD would show up, and I enjoyed the trophy shooting for a bit... but in the end I way preferred the challenge wall and Melee's lottery.

That rumor is false.

Half the roster is actually third party characters and Yoshi has been cut. Those be facts and stuff.

You could make a number of different custom stages involving spikes and conveyer belts and set Sandbag as the only item to grind a lot of stuff off him.

He may appear in another game 20 years from now, but that doesn't mean he deserves to be playable at the moment. Medusa is far more relevant and likely.

As of now, Hades is a one off villain. How do we know he won't be in the future? We don't. The same as we don't know if any of those one off villains he listed will be one offs in the future. But unknowable future appearance potential isn't something we should necessarily be basing likelihoods on.

EDIT: Medusa isn't happening either. In fact, I don't think Palutena's very likely at this point. Kid Icarus may very well stay at one rep. It definitely isn't getting three.

I don't know why anyone bothers giving attention to obviously fake leaks. Nintendo has a vise grip on Smash Bros. In the event that there is a legitimate leak, it isn't going to happen until a few months before the game comes out at the absolute earliest.

Medusa is the only reoccurring main villain in the Kid Icarus franchise.

Didn't realise that. Well maybe Nintendo got special permission as it was the GameBoy version that popularised it (but not the first to use it).

I assume so. In Brawl's sound test, looking at Tetris: Type A (and probably Type B as well) shows a little note saying the rights belong to The Tetris Company.

And yeah, that "leak" is so fake.

I tend to agree, but Wii Fit Trainer, Villager and Mega Man were all leaked. Obviously there is information slipping through.

All these recent pop-up prophets though are just riding the bandwagon.

I'm gonna go with satan
You can bet on snake lady that is fine.

I'm gonna go with Satan,

My first bet is on Palutenia
2nd on Muscular JackBlack
3rd on satan.

As far as the evil being consortium goes, its Satan, Death ( depending of it he or she is evil or not ), Cosmic horrors and extra dimensional demons. You can believe in medusa and that is fine I am not putting my figurative money on jobber snake lady.

In a series of three (one of which never came out in Japan until very, very recently as a downloadable game), that isn't really worth noting, especially considering how the newest and most popular game in the series tossed her under a bus and supplanted her in the fanbase's mind as the series' "main villain."

EDIT: Note that Uprising's treatment of Medusa actually seriously bothers the bajeezus out of me, but it is what it is.

Yeah, but that was more of a marketing leak -- it was just a list of names a few days before the official announcement. It's not like anyone claimed to have insider development knowledge. That's a bit different than some super-descriptive multi-paragraph fan fiction wish list.

The constant rumors are kinda fun, even if they are almost certainly not true.

Smash Bros. hype is an experience. Gotta take it all in.
