Why would anyone pay for this?

Why would anyone pay for access to possibly the entire library of WWE, who have the largest tape archive of wrestling (not just WWE wrestling, dozens of promotions) in the world? That seems a silly question.

12.99 a month is probably the most i'm willing to spend, but i'll crack at 14.99 after the first week or so if people like it.

15 dollars or more= fuck no, unless I get live video feeds of production meetings Monday afternoons

How will the WWE Network change the WWE forever?

If this is a success, this could signal the end of PPV as a whole for a company. Wrestling has been booked on the concept of Monthly PPVs to blow off angles for over 20 years. This could be a big change in booking philosophy if it takes off.

Why isn't Triple H in a suit? He's not an in-ring performer anymore.

Wait, this whole announcement is about Triple H coming out of retirement, isn't it?

Looking forward to the announcement, though the only thing that really has me wondering is how edited the old stuff is going to be.

Will Benoit even exist in this library? Because his match against 2 Cold Scorpio at SuperBrawl III is one of my personal top 5 matches ever.

It's been rumored that his matches will be included with a warning.

Every event with Benoit in it will have some sort of advisory that is played before the show but yes, he will be there.

We just had a report last week that Benoit will be in all the footage, unedited. They're getting around this by showing a disclaimer at the start of any footage he appears in.

Potentially it would completely alter their model and focus in business. The PPV business would be completely changed, and their approach to television would be radically altered.

Yeah, that is interesting. They should do away with PPVs, except the big ones like RR, WM, Summer Slam, and Survivor Series.

Derp. Didn't know there was another thread. As I said there:

"Didn't have any idea this was a thing until right now. I've been asking for this for years. I want mid to late 80's WWE and Attitude/NWO content. If I have that from day one and it's all On Demand, I'd spend $8-10 for that easy. If it includes WCW and ECW, I'd spend $12 no problem. Give it to me."

Also, a Roku channel. I will be needing this on Roku please.

Is it pick and choose?

So can I just watch the Raw where Jericho debuted? Or when he beat* HHH for the title?

Or that Raw where Kane just interfered in every match and killed everyone

Lol, whats the big fucking deal about Benoit?

Who's gonna complain that he's acting on TV with other wrestlers because he did whatever in his personal life. He wasn't even that big of a star to begin with.

Not like they would put a big mosaic on top of Aaron Hernandez or OJ Simpson in past football game footage.

His murder/suicide did immense damage to WWE as a company and ended up greatly changing their direction, so it's a very big deal.

He murdered his wife and kid?

That's kind of a big fucking deal.

Also, I wonder if this is them forgoing the usual PPV model. In this day an age, it really seems to hurt storylins more if millions of people see the storyline build, then only say 400,000 can see it advanced at a pay per view.

Sure, but they didn't take OJ Simpson out of the Hall of Fame, either.

Did more damage to the company because of the exposure of Vince's boner for big guys and giving out roid sandwiches to all of them. I don't think anyone even knew who Benoit was.

If they include future PPV for free wouldn't they try and charge $9,000 a month or something ridiculous? I would happily jump on something sub $15 if it got us free future PPV.

Not really. The steroid thing came out in the early 90s.
One of their performers murdered his wife and kid, and killed himself. That is kind of a big deal.

Vince did an interview mentioning this a few years back, and he doesn't think it's right to pretend Benoit never existed, but it is right to not promote him.

Won't come to Europe anyway (unless severely crippled).

I wouldn't bank on that, I've been able to order every WWE PPV for 15 Euro's on wwe.com for ages. They've been pretty good on that end, so I'm hoping they continue that with the network and make it available everywhere.

You know what's going to happen.

They'll start to announce they got a big thing.....and then Triple H comes out and sledge hammers everyone saying nothing is bigger than him and it's now called the Triple H Power Show.

No announcement is going over him!
