I really doubt the Netflix route was Vince's idea. Vince originally wanted a cable network, that's what it was supposed to launch as in 2012.

He definitely wanted a cable service at first, but he and/or his people around him probably pointed out how well Netflix is doing and the trend of more people starting to cut their cable TV cords.

I hope the Raw replays aren't like what they are doing on Hulu. I also hope they have their shit together by Wrestlemania. Anyway I can't wait for this.

The UFC should be absolutely embarrassed by this value proposition. The WWE Network is taking a chance and casting a very wide net, while the UFC Fight Pass does nothing but squeeze pennies from a niche segment of their niche audience who will get up at 4:00 a.m. to watch jobbers fight in Jakarta to protect their dwindling pay-per-view business.

Vincent, the world's best promoter and huckster. Always and forever.

And they have a much better interface too.

It's really Apples and Oranges.

Vince is an innovator, Dana White is a duplicator. What has Dana White actually done that his been his own idea?

Yes mma-gaf, this is the mma rearview mirror on a meta scale

I haven't bought a PPV in my life; usually just walk to a bar and grab some wings most of the time or back in the day scramble vision/that kid with a descrambler.

I'm getting this though and at that price I'll keep getting it.

So this basically kills my need to ever watch WWE live again. Basically losing me as a revenue besides the $10/month, if i decide to even bother.

Will they keep raw and nxt on hulu? I'm pretty content with it already.

I'm just saying, calling Vince a genius for this probably is not accurate, there's a LOT of people involved in this. The lady that showed up early on, Financial Officer or something, I think is the chief person heading up the Network's development.

the wording is a bit odd, can I still go back and watch a random episode of Raw from 1994 or not?

I think the wording in the FAQ imply that it is only PPVs for now. However, they say in the FAQ that they will be continuing to add VOD stuff every month... so maybe they will add TV shows eventually.

I'll sign up for this, and I haven't bought a PPV since Wrestlemania 1. Getting access to the archive stuff is awesome, and I love getting the new PPVs, as I'd never pay $60 for one.

Vince McMahon just buried his own creation, PPV television. Seriously, how can companies like TNA, UFC, or boxing justify charging $45 - $60 per live event now?

well, TNA was already fucked.

I hope this forces UFC to do something similarly. I enjoy MMA but after Silva did his best Sid Vicious impersonation, there's no one left that I feel like "I'm spending $50+ to watch this person fight"

and who cares about boxing. they have a lot more to worry about than just PPV.

Wait what, 9.99$ for all 12 ppvs?

no, per month

when they first announced the price, I expected it to be more. I think it was Stephanie or the other woman, but they were like "keep in mind this includes all 12 PPVs"

I thought that was their "please don't overreact, it includes all PPVs!" and was shocked to see $9.99

TOO MANY HYPES! Going to pinch some pennies to make sure I can afford the six month contract. Goddamn this is so much better than I could have hoped.

Speaking of which, why isn't Smackdown on Hulu anymore? I just recently started watching again, and Smackdown was on Hulu until a few weeks ago.

Someone posted on the Gaming side the reason for the Xbox One delay is due to the backlog of other apps MS is building for Xbox One.

Cable and PPV businesses are in the past, they're just so big that they will take a long, long time to actually die. This is the future of TV, this Netflix style.

Tomorrow we get a new wrestling company with weekly shows on CMT ^_^

it's 1998 all over again

It's going to be interesting to see that they will see a lot of their subs will not watch the current PPV's and if the start to book differently to rope those people in. This can only hopefully lead to good things as they'll have a ton of motivation now to keep subs and they can only do that by keeping people on board and hooking them with the current product.

They will have to change things up to do that.

I guess I have to finally download the WWE App but I'm not sure how to do it. Anyone know how to download the WWE App?

:)

ehhhh, I can wait. I'm more interested in old weekly TV than I am the old PPV.

24/7 live stream? I'm never leaving the couch.

Who wants to share their account details with me so I can leach?

Have they mentioned how many simultaneous streams per account?
