This has probably been answered, but is this only PPV stuff (old and new)? Or are also we talking about the shows that used to air (like Raw and whatnot)?

It's absolutely everything except Raw, Smackdown, and Main Event don't air live.

-All Legacy content(15000 hours to start, more added all the time). PPV's, Raw's Smackdowns, WWE Home Video, In time other promotions libraries etc
-All PPV's Air Live
-Raw/Smackdown/Main Event don't air live, but they go up after they air live
-Exclusive live programming such as Raw pre and post show, other content to follow
-Network will have a 24/7/365 schedule of programming(like a regular TV channel) as well as the on demand liberary

So traditional WWE PPVs are finished right? Everything going forward will be on this app?
They are continuing, since that's a deal with the cable networks. But in time it will marginalize that business and drive more people to the Network. Buyrates will become less and less important.

They say 1,500 hours of content from their vault, but I'd like to know what exactly that is.

Well this is their tape library, the biggest, wrestling-wise, in the world:

The UFC should be absolutely embarrassed by this value proposition. The WWE Network is taking a chance and casting a very wide net, while the UFC Fight Pass does nothing but squeeze pennies from a niche segment of their niche audience who will get up at 4:00 a.m. to watch jobbers fight in Jakarta to protect their dwindling pay-per-view business.

Vincent, the world's best promoter and huckster. Always and forever.

Yup, was just saying the exact same thing to my gf. Fight Pass was terrible when I had it. Easily the worst subscription service I've used. Huge holes in its libraries and stingy with a lot of events. WWE Network is God Tier in comparison. I hope this is a huge game-changer and causes Zuffa to get their shit together.

I'm certainly getting this. I was never big on wrestling but that was only because I had awful TV memory and couldn't remember to watch anything, couldnt afford the PPVs, and felt utterly lost the very few times I could remember/bother to watch.

$60 for 6 months, including Mania and PPVs is fucking incredible.

So how can I get this in Canada? I know tons of people who have access to American Netflix. Can I do it legally?

For the time being, I don't see that happening. You'll likely still be able to purchase WWE PPV's for the normal price through cable and satellite providers.

Also, nice avatar. 813 fo lyfe.

I'm super stoked for this. My only worry is that they are gonna have so many people watching Wrestlemania through WWE Network that it will bust their servers Sim City style.

That's kind of my point. They have literally thousands of hours of content. What exactly is making up that initial 1,500 hours.

They already said, it's all WWE, ECW and WCW PPVs, plus RAW and Smackdown. I expect ECW TV and Nitro will be added in time, too.

What does this mean for their YouTube channel?

Probably nothing. They have contracts with Youtube for their original shows on there, and mostly they just put up highlights and whatnot.

Oh man this would be pretty freaking awesome!

$9.95 per month for all PPVs and every show ever broadcast, and since I live in Australia I probably won't see this made available until 2015. WWE are offering up a damn good deal.

Since it's over the internet I'm hoping one of those proxy services will allow us access. Hopefully their deal with Foxtel doesn't make it too complicated to bring it here though.

damn i think i might sign up for this one.

loved the attitude era but i'm gonna need some gaffers to start compiling lists of some of the best episodes, ppvs of the eras. i know some of them are crazy enough to put in that work. would be much appreciated by us all.

Since WWE is a public company, it'll be really interesting to check out their earnings reports going forward and see how the numbers compare. This is a really interesting gamble.

The math: WWE Network subcribers + tapering traditional pay-per-view buys vs. traditional pay-per-view buys from years prior. Will it pay off, and can they maintain subscribers to have it continue to pay off after 6 months, 12 months?

Will they see a boost in viewership on television if more people can watch their pay-per-views? Better merchandise sales if it brings in old fans?

Pretty crazy if you think about it.

Their ultimate plan is to double their TV rights fees for their weekly shows, which they're negotiating for now, and use that to offset the loss in money from cannibalizing PPVs buyrates with the Network. Basically negate the loss while getting the big attraction of the Network at the same time. NASCAR just negotiated something like 6 billion dollar contract with the cable companies, and WWE want to get that kind of a contract (which would roughly double the base amount of money they make from their TV shows just airing at all).

It is definitely risky and relies on a lot, but if all goes well, it will be a huge success for them.

23. Will WWE Network be available internationally?
Beginning Monday, February 24, WWE Network will only be available in the United States. WWE Network is scheduled to launch in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Nordics by the end of 2014/early 2015.

Shit. Hopefully Unblock-us can get that figured out soon after launch.

No Mexico or LA??? Fuck......

The 6 month commitment cycle is genius. With the Rumble, Mania, and Summerslam spaced how they are, there's no real incentive to cancel after any given 6 month period. I'll be paying for this indefinitely.

Yeah, WWE will get a monster television deal. Their live viewership is a goldmine in a world that's shifting to DVR and the like.

Would love to see FOX make a play and see UFC/WWE tag team like the Spike TV years.

Essentially. Vince just stumbled across Nintendo's old dusty DS money printing machine.

I know they said their VOD content would be uncut and uncensored but will they be blurring out WWF logos?

Nope. They've been working on the Network for a few years now and sorting out stuff like this. They worked out a deal with the WWF last year, so they can show the WWF scratch logo uncensored and say WWF all they like now.

Wow! I'm someone who enjoys casually watching Raw and Smackdown but has never felt compelled to buy a PPV. I particularly loved the Attitude Era as a kid. I could definitely see myself buying into this...
