Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition PC

Stupid YouTube HTML5 forcing 360p on me *disables*

Much better.
So good. Only RE I've played start to end, but so good.

Capcom just keeps milking the same cows over and over again.

I was researching over Xmas break how to mod the shit out of the shitty OG release to make it not suck, but now I don't gotta worry about that any more! DMCHD next please.

Good times I will have to grab this but I have to say what is up with offering a digital Artbook and soundtrack and showing a picture of physical versions of them. I understand it may not seem real but it just hurts my collector side to see physical mockups that will never exist.

And all the people saying they will wait for a sale is 20 dollars really to much for one of the highest rated console games ever released? I am starting to think that dev was right about steam sells ruining peoples perception of game values.

Also as much as a I hate the last 3rd of RE5, I hope this means they are gonna give us a Steamworks overhaul of that + the DLC to purchase when the sales for this go crazy.

Reasons to buy this again:

-1080p (or higher)
-60fps
-Some actual goddamn anti-aliasing, I would hope
-Ownership on a platform that I won't be packing up and putting in storage soon
-GOAT

Those seem pretty high for a last-gen game...

Were the console versions of RE4 HD based on the GC version, and did they have all of its graphical effects intact?

Day One! Again.

Hopefully they remastered the FMVs or made everything in engine. The gamecube version is still king imo.

This feels so surreal. For years the common assumption was that RE4 HD on the PC would make too much sense to happen, so naturally it would never happen... but it's happening.

The Wii Edition will always be my favorite RE4 version.

I actually do have the HD version on 360, just never played it (came with RE6). Curious how the HD versions hold up.

I've played this game so many times on all the systems. I bought a GameCube for this game and played it on that, then played it on PS2, then bought the Wii version and played that, then bought the 360 HD version... now it looks like I'm going to be getting this for PC finally.

I wonder if mouse support for aiming is in? Or controller support? Things I thought were absent from the 'original' PC release.

A week and a half before Titanfall. Will give me something to do to ease the wait, RE4 is no short game. I haven't played it since 2005, it will be pretty new to me, I don't remember a lot about it.

It's going to take you like 25 hours then. That mofo is loooong.

20 Bucks? I'll wait for the steam sale.
Already bought it on both PS3 and 360.
I would have preordered if the bonuses were worthwhile but they aren't for me anyway.

WHAT

I was wishing for this! Always annoyed me to no end that there wasn't a definitive PC version of this on Steam. YES CAPCOM!!!!!

This feels so surreal. For years the common assumption was that RE4 HD on the PC would make too much sense to happen, so naturally it would never happen... but it's happening.
Yep this sums it up.

Finally, the previous PC version was very bad, hopefully this finally means that Capcom respects Steam and will start discounting their games more often.

Texture/Effect wise, is this better than the GC version?

If I could put up with 30 hours of Resident Evil 6's turd pie, I can happily enjoy 25 hours of Resident Evil 4's glory. I finished it on GameCube at release, but haven't played it since. Can't wait.

Woohoo!!! I was just thinking this morning of starting another RE4 playthrough on the WiiU. Definitely waiting for this to come out instead.

You have to remember the time period. What we had available at the time be it graphics on consoles and how different it was from Resident Evil 3 and that there wasn't much else like it.

I expect a lot of threads saying how Resident Evil 4 is a bad game as now its not graphically impressive and we've had multiple games since that do something similar.

I will enter it with an open mind. It's the gameplay and pacing I hear the most praise about anyway.

Re-port by team that handle those excellent port since RE5? important question.. If so, oh my..

It was easier with RE5 because of the MT Framework engine being so good on PC, I wonder how they got this game running.

Cant wait for impressions/reviews etc.

Hasn't aged that well. Could have put a little more effort in.

I've played the Gamecube and PS2 versions. I'll leave my happy memories in the past.

Damn. May have to get this.

Have it on Wii and had it on Gamecube but never got very far.

Would love to beat it.

Dealbreaker though, does it have native gamepad support?

There is some really surprising optimism going on in this thread.

My guess is it will have shit options, only go up to 1080, use the 480p fmv instead of in game cutscenes, and probably something else new they found to mess up.

Looks like I'm buying Resident Evil 4 again.

I really hope it has mod support though, there's been some great mods out and this would just revive the community even more.

I believe it was concluded that it was the GC assets and lighting, minus a couple of specular highlights in rare places.

We won't know till it comes out. It should be pretty easy to make comparisons to some emulated Wii shots I have so we can have a same-resolution comparison.
