Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition PC

WANT!

But those requirements seem ridiculous. I think my laptop card exceeds the minimum (GT635m) but fuck knows how it'll perform if the recommended is a bloody 560 :o

Looks good but is it missing a grain filter or something? It looks way too clean in the village and Gigante battle.

This too. But with Nintendo holding on to it and the pre-rendered backgrounds locked in 4x3 I think people have said the chances of an HD version are slim.
Nintendo...somehow owns REmake? How does that work? This is the first I've heard I it, didn't even know that was possible. And if true, why doesn't Nintendo just shack up with Capcom and do a re-REmake on WiiU? It's still one of the best REs next to RE4 in my humble opinion.

Since I love the game this is great, but I still think that after all these endless ports they could have remade it with the same engine that makes RE5 tick. You know, and actually deserve to charge money for it.

This is good news for me. I haven't played since the PS2 version. I hope the cutscenes aren't low quality. The cut scenes better run in real time.

There is some really surprising optimism going on in this thread.

My guess is it will have shit options, only go up to 1080, use the 480p fmv instead of in game cutscenes, and probably something else new they found to mess up.

Steam version means It will be super-cheap in enough time, which might account for a lot of it.

Sweet. Won't get this day 1 since I not long ago finished the Wii version. I wonder if we'll hear about Wii U/PS4/XB1 versions soon as well (heck go all the way and have 3DS and Vita versions as well... well maybe just 3DS seeing that this is Capcom).

How did RE6 run on AMD cards?

Really nice. I played the entire thing in split screen on max settings on a 5870. It was a very smooth experience. The actual game ran better than the benchmark test. (Which is something I've noticed with every Capcom game ever). This was on an old C2D @ 3.16ghz, I should add.

fucking hope so...
with a 560 as recommended 1080p, 60fps or else is a garbage port.

Probably the same thing as with Metal Gear Rising having sky high requirements, but runs flawlessly on much weaker hardware maxed out @ 1080p @ 60fps.

I hope you can lock the framerate in this through the game since I actually want this particular game to run at 30. More realistic and cinematic! Plus smooth as hell.

Now have someone do Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition extra content Capcom. If you can go back and do this RE4 stuff after all these years, you can do RE5 Gold Edition... right?

Will buy this... but the trailer doesn't really make me want to. Looks like i should wait until the first HD textrure map pack is downloadable.

Edit: Also, 60fps should be in the title.... to show Tomb Raider whats up ;p

I got super excited upon seeing the tweet, but afrter the trailer I kinda realised it looks like it's simply a port of the console HD-editions, albeit with the ability to run at higher than 720p resolutions.

If Capcom went all out and maybe re-textured, or remodelled, and did in-engine cut0scenes I'd maybe be interested, but I have a feeling it will just be a lazy port.

But by all means, I am ready for Capcom to surprise me.

why couldn't they just make RE1-3 in HD for PC instead?? Darn RE4 done frigging came out on everything including microwaves and toasters. Plus it hardly looks different from the Wii version with HD textures on Dolphin.

So they already had this game on PC and it was a piss poor port and now people are jumping for joy that they can now fork over more cash for a (possibly) competent version?

That's because Capcom makes some badass PC ports. Some of the best actually. Anyone playing on PC for the last couple of years know how awesome they are when it comes to the PC options.

Really hoping it has decent mouse support. Might be a bit easy but Hard mode can be pretty brutal anyway. I'll probably buy it when it's a tenner anyway, loved it on GC.

Capcom has me by the balls already with RE4, but they reaaaaaaaaaaall have me by the balls with 60 fps. Even if they did use PS2 assets, that might make it the definitive version. But hopefully it uses the GC version as a base - I'd hate for there to be multiple versions of the game each lacking in a certain area. Right now, I'd say RE on Dolphin is the best version.
