Honestly the biggest clue pointing one way or the other could be the inclusion of Mario. If no one is able to find a released 3DS screenshot or vid with that exact frame/pose (and if that Mario model is identical to 3DS Smash Mario)... this could be legit.

Who knows.. either way, pretty fun occurrence to pass the time waiting for the next big reveal

Because Smash fans can be insane and the character speculation for this franchise is always an event.

The way I see it, it's a well done model, and the other elements like Mario and the stage are well staged. But it has the same hallmark as other fake leaks like the badly framed offscreen shot, simple poses, and not really showing anything new besides the character that might validate the leak.

Well, I felt that background was copy and pasted from few different pictures together. I looked at few background pictures and Palutena's background don't really fit along with other few backgrounds. You can see Ruin building being gone, weird blue thing appeared between Bush and Palutena, and all that. I'm very skeptical about it tho.

I don't want to say legit in case in case it gets my hopes up, but it's very doubtful that is it fake.

She's one of my top characters I want as a newcomer, so this is very exciting (and triggering skepticism naturally). After all this could be a leak, but the leaker wants to make it seem like she's playable when she's not, or something

But I'm a little bit of a believer, just a believer that's suspicious of someone coming forward two weeks from now saying it's fake.

IF this is legit, she looks awesome

edit: If this is also legit, it would make a bit more sense for the 3DS one to leak, because after all it is portable.

She is one of top 5 wanted characters for me, so I really hope that she would become playable character. I wouldn't fall for this fake picture, and would wait for an official reveal from Sakurai himself.

The models and textures are completely distinct from each other. I've just never seen a fake this convincing before — they always use existing assets and people are able to disprove them within hours. This is literally a brand new Palutena model.

That staff is really bugging me. It's clearly the one from her Brawl design rather than the current Uprising one. I'm not convinced this isn't an edited lower-poly version of her Brawl trophy.

Apparently there's some confusion about whether or not the original image poster mentioned them being an assist trophy. Seems like it could've been something someone else said that got falsely interpreted.

I believe the "leaker" simply dropped the photos without saying anything and left. But this is just what I hear, the original thread is gone by now. So yeah, apologies for adding fuel to that.

Same here. I would like to assume two reasons,

1. Palutena is one of leaker's most wanted character or that he's hardcore fan of Palutena
2. Workers probably received the demo with Palutena and announced characters only for the job that he might have to edit for the direct or whatever it is but I seriously doubt it.

That's one of first thing I noticed. Other thing I noticed that Palutena have a long nose now. I can't helped but feel that Palutena reminded me of Usopp.

Yeah, I'm being hyperbole about it. I'm serious that I have seen the model of her face before. I have seen it somewhere but I can't really figure out where.

It is very well done if its fake. The model is clearly new and the background is a different angle from previous shots plus the sun is coming up. This makes me wanna believe its real. It could just be like the jiggly and ness pic but the improvements to palutenas model would make this a far more elaborate fake.

All I know is that, real or not, this version of Palutena blends in SO nicely with the SSB4 style. Especially Pit, they look like they're from the same game which is great. If Palutena is in, and doesn't look like this, I hope I still like it because I love this.

The face is really weird. Especially in the one pic some of the pixels on her right cheek look kinda jaggy.

Also I thought the rings on her wrists were energy, like Pit's. In those pics they just look solid like metal. That's exactly like the Brawl model.

I think it's very abundantly clear that they are not simple photoshops. They are absolutely 3D models existing in something that sure as hell looks like Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. Even the halo causes some slight discoloration to her outline where it intersects. It really is just too damn good of a fake. If what we are looking at isn't Super Smash Bros. for 3DS then it's doing a seriously disturbingly good impression of it.

If this really is a fake, it would have to be the product of some seriously maniacal dedication.
