Oh, good god, you actually thought I was serious. Nadal has taken beatdowns in finals far worse this. Federer won the first set 6-0 in the 2006 final. Fine, you hate Nadal, but it's ridiculous to suggest he pretended to be injured because he lost the first set due to a loose service game early on. He was close to breaking back, at one point. Your train of thought is warped by hate.

Weird isn't it? It's almost like the painkillers he took have started to work and his body has loosened up. But, no, it was all part of an elaborate long con in losing the first two sets.

Losing the first two sets? He was down a set and a break before this injury. The only thing he gave up on was a set he was getting his butt handed in him to.

You just don't know Nadal or the game, that isn't my fault. Casual viewer, congrats for that.

That would be the worst.

His back looked fine for the 1st set, don't take that one away from Stan. Stan probably did win the 2nd set through injury, though.

Yeah, that was a bit loose from me. Absolutely, Stan was a monster in that first set. I was just highlighting how ludicrous it is to doubt Nadal's injury based on the evidence we see.

Dude, I watch pretty much every tennis match all year and Nadal was obviously not faking.

Wow. I just got back. I am not watching the match but just saw the score. What happened to Nadal? Is he just playing bad? Stan playing too good? Nadal injured?

Stan godded the first set. Totally on his racquet, nothing Nadal could do. Similarly godded the early second set and took an early break, but then Nadal took an MTO. Most didn't think it was serious at first, but then Nadal came back and was barely moving. Tanked the rest of the second set. Nadal's anti-inflammatories kicked in at 1-0* in the third and he took a break when Stan lost focus.

Yeah, sure. You're an expert on this sort of thing. He was down a break, and that caused him to give up. Because, you know, as an expert you see he has form for this all the time. But, hey, my argument is invalidated because I'm a casual viewer. That's ok, you know the game, I don't. Congrats on being an expert.

Any tips you could give me to watch out for in future? Painkillers. How do they work?

Yeah most from Nadal except his serve is back.

Stan needs to get motivated and focused again, ignoring Nadal. Just needs to play his game.

Stan needs to take an MTO for the mental injury, it's pretty serious.

Fixed.

This feels totally deflating to me. It's making me feel tense, and not in a good/fun way.

Same here. It just doesn't feel right.

If Stan wins it's meh because Nadal was injured.

If Nadal wins it's meh because the whole thing is fucked up.

Stan just needs to get his shit together quick. Find some motivation. Focus.

The quality of this match has dropped to Challenger level, this is surreal. Biggest difference in play between 1st and 3rd set ever.
