Real Pic January 2014: Everyone wants to participate, no one wants to make the thread

I was in another meeting with a different company.

And we were talking to their sales guy about their CEO. Suddenly my director says, "Have you guys ever noticed that he speaks like Bob Dylan?"

And I was like "OMG! I thought I was the only one!" And both the director and I launch into really scathing impressions of their CEO while the sales guys look horrified.

After we finish and wipe the tears of laughter from our eyes one of the sales guys says, "You know, he talks like that because he was kicked in the head by a horse when he was a teenager."

"Oh....."

Indeed, I really like what I've heard.

Change of pace and another link shamelessly stolen from BritGAF (thanks Jedeye Sniv). He posted this a few weeks back, it's got a nice upbeat vibe to it despite having kind of an angry political message, great lyrics too:

This thread's going too slow to make the goal.

Let's step it up.

"What's the strangest/most inappropriately timed comment you've made?"

For me, there's a few.
In a meeting full of people
Sales guy: "Sorry it's taken a while for us to get back to you. Our CEO was recently trampled by an elephant while he was on vacation in Africa."
Me: "I didn't know elephants used your product."

I've also said, "Mike Wazowski!" to my wife after sex (our son was obsessed with Monster's Inc. for a period of time)

Oh, I have a good one.

During undergrad, I was walking with a friend and she had mentioned that she had been working out recently.

I had wanted to say "Really? I didn't know!" but what came out was "Really? You don't look like it!"

She looked like she wanted to kill me before I backpedaled so hard.

Ouch.

Not me, but when my family first arrived in the US we had to deliver papers to have enough money for food. We were all learning english at the time. My brother was delivering his papers and saw a guy working on his patio. My bro freaked because he didn't know what to say. As he was walking up the sidewalk to hand the guy the paper he came down to two options, "You're welcome" or "No problem." He handed the guy the paper who said "Thanks!" and my bro replied, "Your problem!"

I'm on a Feeder binge again.

Seriously people, give this band more respect. Doods are fucking amazing, they've been going for over 2 decades now and are still putting out amazing music. Even with a band member suicide halfway through

RIP Jon :(

I say so much stupid stuff i'm well acquainted with what seems to be the normal reaction:

Piercing stare to check for serious...glance away, pointed and terse comment to the matter from before my inappropriate comment.

I'm really glad i know about the spotlight effect because if i didn't i'd die small deaths all the time.

I have one.

This was four years back. I went up to my university newspaper's office to see my friend. She was dating a new guy. I met him, for the first time, when I entered her office. So, I look straight at him, into his eyes, and made the most note-worthy first impressions in existence, "Hey, have you fucked her yet?"

Now she and I will always joke about this whenever we hang out.

First day of school and it's an evening class. Don't know what to wear :( Can I just stay home???

something comfortable, if it's anything like my evening classes (looooooong). More than an hour in an uncomfortable seat is terrible. good luck!!

@Kisaya
What? My school started two weeks ago :( Already done two performances.

Mine started three weeks ago and I already have first tests this week.

D: ughh lammeeee. I REALLY hope this semester is easy on me...

I'm expecting this one to be rough but I'm excited! I'm trying to get a lot of outside performances/interactions done as well as some short film work! Super excited :) What sort of classes are you taking?

Edit: And I've got two teaching assistantship jobs. One for sustainability, I couldn't care less about, but the artist I'm working with has great connections. The other class is sculptural knitting, a nice class where I can work with my hands again.

The Business of Art Museum Management
Introduction to Business Law
Mathematical Modeling for Business Applications
Art and Civilization of the Islamic World
and a French class :/ which I'm considering dropping.

*_* I really wanted to take this "Art in New York" class but after how last semester went, I think I'm just going to stick to whatever's required right now.

That one sounds interesting. I'm thinking about renting out an apartment or home through airbnbt for like a week or two to do a few pop up shows/galleries. I'd use my space, but its too small to actually do anything in :(

Honestly I'm super pumped for this semester, I've got 3 projects I'm working on :) Hopefully you can participate in one of them, especially if you'll be around for pax :)

Yeah I'm really excited for that class most of all :) I hope I can make it to participate in your projects ;____;

Language :/ I wanted to minor in French but it's not looking too bright for me now. I already fulfilled my language requirements so it really doesn't hurt if I take this class or not.

Ah, I was going to minor in french as well! Made it only to French three before I decided i'd rather double major in psychology and linguistics. It's nice to have all your classes in one language, let me tell you.

Awesome :D. Thanks!

Driving instructor, other student and me.
Student mentioned that their cousin had a kid with a name she really didn't like because it sounded too pompous in her opinion. Teacher says that it wasn't a bad name. I mention that i recently read an article of a study where it proved people start behaving according to their name.
My driving instructors name was Dick :/
