Guys, thanks to your revelations, I found out that toon link is fake, too.

Okay that's an entirely different siatuion. That's WW Link statue, and SMB4 Toon Link render, two different games.

And that statue is not even supposed to depict the Link you play as in WW, but another Link.

This is great. hahaha and people are missing the point.

It's a freaking statue. It's not confirming or denying the leak any further. Statues CAN look different than the model. Just comparing the statue to past incarnations, there are some differences, let alone a playable model.

Sure comparing things like the facial structure and hair bangs of the statue with the leaked photos is foolhardy but one cannot deny that it is interesting that the staff head differs greatly. Why would one model reflect the changes made to the staff head in Uprising and another one stick to how it looked in Brawl?

Everyone has agreed that the leaked image of Palutena is not the Brawl model so one cannot say they just put the Brawl model into the 3DS version like they seem to have done with other models (like Link) whereas they decided to clean it up for the HD version. And to say the statue could be an earlier model makes even less sense because that would imply they modelled the staff to look like Uprising's and then changed it later to look more like Brawl's. Yeah, I highly doubt that.

I'll be sad when he gets announced and we won't see anymore "Ridley's too big" jokes.

Don't kid yourself. I don't think these threads will ever go 10 pages without someone saying that Ridley is too big. Even after confirmation/deconfirmation.

Hey guys. Models between background characters and playable characters are different. And yes, I deliberately chose to compare a 3DS and WiiU model.

The Link in the Spirit Tracks stage is Spirit Tracks Link and is designed specifically to match how he looked in that game, the Palutena statue presumably is a statue of what Palutena would actually look like.

And they have totally different staves.

Well, they specifically used the Spirit Tracks Link model pretty much straight from Spirit Tracks. Notice with Toon Link in the 3DS version they could have made Spirit Tracks Link much more detailed if they wanted to. They wanted to be faithful to the Spirit Tracks look and didn't want to do more work than they had to do.

Why would the statue and character designs have anything to do with each other? The statue is from a location in Uprising,

FYI You can't compare the 3DS model with a Wii U statue model because both games look different from each other.

Notice Link's shield and hair are different among the versions in shape?

This is when keeping it real goes right.

I think this has more to do with differences in hardware strength than any intentional design change. The different Links I think are an issue of fidelity. The Palutena statue just flat out has a different design than the Palutena in the leaked pictures. I'm not convinced that means anything though.

Exactly.

It means shit.

The face (chin and cheeks especially) are IDENTICAL to the leaked pics though and if you were to pick one detail to be consistent with in the same game, model wise... wouldn't it be the freaking face? Which is nothing like the brawl or uprising models BTW.

I can barely make out any features of the face.

Identical is a pretty strong word for a tiny shot of a statue that hardly has defined eyes.

And nose...

I covered this point briefly, but it seems the 3DS models are closer to their original Brawl models whereas they've cleaned them up a bit more for the Wii U version.

However everyone has agreed that the Palutena in the leaked photos is not a direct copy of the Palutena model found in Brawl. If we assume said leak is legit I find it odd to believe they'd change her up a bit but not reflect certain changes in her design found in Uprising like the staff's top but they did bother to reflect those changes for a statue found in the background of a stage.

Very true.

According to people, there being a statue auto de-confirms the leak.

Statue really doesn't prove or disprove anything.

All it means right now is Wii U has a Kid Icarus stage. Plain and simple.

The Statue isn't going to be as detailed as the character. Statue has no need for all those ornaments which aren't there. And you can't really tell much from the face so no one should base it on anything to begin with.
