PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

Does anyone have any tips about getting remote play working on my PS4? I gave up on it at launch, but all the recent threads about how great a feature it is have made me want to try again.

I've got 'connect directly' checked in my system settings and everything, but I can't get the thing to work properly, even when I'm sat a foot away from the console. I've tried messing around with changing the Ad Hoc channel, and that doesn't work either :/ Anything else I can try? Doesn't even work when I try just connecting through the router.

I hope Shahid had nothing to do with this trash. I remember him making a "from tiny acorns" comment when this was announced at TGS, implying this is the first step to a true Monster Hunter. In reality, it's a dead end.

It is? Tell me more!

I'm surprised Shahid would even care for MoHu in the first place. It's not right up his usual "ally" of games he seems to propagate.

And it be quite silly to him to promote that MMO as a "true" MoHu experience to Vita owners.

DMZ your PS4 through your router options.

How's Metro Last Light? Is it your standard shooter or is it like TLoU where you have limited supplies and you need to survive?

Shahid knows Frontier isn't the kind of MH people want.

Since you asked, Monster Hunter Frontier isn't developed by the Monster Hunter team, heck it isn't even developed by Capcom proper. It's developed by Capcom Online Games, the arm behind such classics like Dragon's Dogma Quest, and Breath of Fire 6. As this game's development is so closed off from the proper games it can't be used as an excuse to port the MH engine over.

As this is a six year old subscription based MMO available on PC, 360, PS3, and Wii U it's got a really small shot at being successful on Vita. Capcom is a screwy company, so when it sells 6k they'll probably take it as a sign that Vita owners don't want anything from Capcom.

There's also the nasty habit of Frontier appearing on platforms that never get their own real Monster Hunter ...

I see that you're a fan of Ratchet and Clank. You have good tastes. Those are the games that I had fun with when I was but a teenager. I even played it in Japanese and had no guides and 100% the first three games. Then after finishing those, the glory that was English PS2 was gifted to me. Glory to region free. ( I meant the PS2 games here but the PS3 ones were good too.)
Yup, sure am, ever since the original back in the early PS2 days I've loved the series. Even through Q-Force changing the formula to tower defense and newer titles switching to 30fps I still love the series.

Thanks! Wow, that's dedication, I couldn't do that until the HD collection. (and a little help from the internet :P) It's so nice that region free consoles and handhelds are much more prominent now, with stuff like price gouging in regions, games not getting released in some regions and 50hz back then it's super great now that importing's always a option
On non Nintendo systems anyway.

The PS3 ones were great but there's something about the PS2 ones that I love more, I can always come back to them and enjoy them with them feeling timeless but I guess that might be nostalgia talking.
Well that's one way to get my attention.

Definitely the more funnier Final Fantasy games. Bartz is great.

I see the PS+ announcement for tomorrow, but no news on what's happening in the month of February.

Is there no schedule for the PS+ updates? Checked Saturday, Sunday, and today, still nothing. I want Outlast damnit.

Joined the Vita party recently. Picked up a OLED Vita and a 16 GB card. With PS+ now I'm waiting for a sale on larger capacity memory. Having a good time playing Rayman Legends, Hot Shots Golf and FIFA. I also grabbed Persona 4 for $20 and will be starting that soon. While I love my 3DS I have to admit the Vita definitely has earned it's place in my gaming universe.

Welcome to VitaGaf :) We're a friendly bunch!
Except killatopak

From what I understand some PS1/PSP can have screenshots taken others can't. Could be wrong, but I think I heard that somewhere.

That's weird if true. I cannot think of a good reason why specific titles would have the function disabled. Compatibility issues perhaps?

the 2K looks a bit cheap tbh. Gotta see it in person.

After rebuying Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (I had this on iPad) and Final Fantasy IX US (I had the German version) I'm tempted to rebuy Final Fantasy II as well, which I already have on my iPhone. I'm such a tool but the d-pad and buttons really make a difference.

Do you have a second memory card for your US account? I'm tempted to get another one for US purchases.
I'm not paying for the 50Hz versions of psone games. The first time was more than enough.

Yup, I grabbed a 4GB one for ~$5 during some special offer (read: clearance) for the sole purpose of storing US PSOne games. Switching accounts isn't as convenient as it is on a PS3 but at least it works and it's a price I'm willing to pay for 60Hz.

I am excited for Outlast. Actually I am scared for Outlast, it will hurt me. There isn't enough daylight to make me feel ok with that one...

Also is it Toukiden time yet? I want it. My demo bows are sad and want more to do.

I don't mind the ergonomics of handheld systems, my hands are big, but I can adapt to any size, from GBA micro to 3ds xl, and vita is no exception.

However, today I found Dreamgear's comfort grip at a great price and decided to buy it. My vita went from "it's alright", to "oh wow, this feels great!". I definitely recommend getting this.

So I got myself a nice Vita bundle for cheap, the one that comes with the 10 games. It arrived today but unfortunately the left trigger is squeaky as hell when using it.

I'm debating whether or not to return it however I think they have sold out now.

Is this a common issue?

Has more of a TLOU vibe. I actually ran out of bullets at one point and to fight a boss with my knife! Overall it's a really good game; amazing atmosphere which makes good use of environmental storytelling. The world feels very authentic and the gunplay is a huge step up from Metro 2033. Story's solid (though, in my opinion not as good as 2033). I'd definitely recommend the download.

There's a fix for that. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw on the back closest to the button. Very slightly though.
