PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

Finally finished Uncharted GA. It was okay, pretty boring. The Vita specific mechanics didn't add much to it and they went back to them too often for my liking. The one I did like was tracing a path for climbing, made it go by quicker. Enemies were bullet sponges and Drake was made of paper too.

I did like the story though, it was simple but enjoyable. Glad it was a PS+ bonus and didn't cost me anything extra :P

Now on to Gravity Rush or Muramasa Rebirth.

In about 24 hours you'll find out whether I will curse you name that I don't know how to pronounce, or thank you.

It was a freaking trek to get this game. First I was just dropping something off somewhere, then u had to drop someone off somewhere else, then u was already half-way to the Gamestop that probably had this in stock. I had to go to some ghetto ass part of Houston where people switch lanes without their blinkers or even checking their mirrors apparently to get this SoB. And I got one with a crappy case! They didn't even have any PS2 games there =/.

But alas, impressions await. Sooner or later.

Make sure you play NG+, that's the main reason this game is so special.

Ah shit I knew I forgot something.
Could someone with good Photoshop skill help me out please?
I'd like a banner made for the Toukiden OT using this image:

Thanks in advance.

REALLY enjoying Dissidia. Holy shit. I'm getting handled by the beginning enemies though. Is (R+Triangle) the only way to get in on enemies? I tend to grind on nearby rails or stand there blocking like an idiot because of the button combination and get punished for it. Also,
is Lightning gonna be angry this whole trip?

Maybe I'm blind but I can't even find an option to deactivate all devices on the SEN site (Australian one if that means anything).

Edit: Found it. It was hidden away pretty well. If I deactivate remotely I can then just reactivate the one I still have right away, correct?

Yes, the next time you go online with one of the devices you still own you have to login and activate them again.
You can only remotely deactivate all your devices once every 6 months, else you have to call the support. It's handled that way so people can't abuse the system.

Ended up only being able to deactivate it for games, so it's still activated for music and movies and shows up in the device list heh. Weird, there doesn't seem to be any way to remotely deactivate those.

Grudgingly bought Final Fantasy Origins since it's on sale. I really just want the Final Fantasy I & II anniversary editions... Why do Europe and Japan have them, but the US doesn't? Probably won't even play it since I know I could be playing better versions of the games...

Is this okay?

Yeah that looks good. Mind you my laptop is 1080p so stuff that used to be good size on my older laptop's 768p resolution look smaller.

OK I think I can get the OT up later today, let me double check stuff, clear out typos and I should be.

Did you add the weapons trailer videos?

Err weapon trailer doesn't seem all that necessary IMO, since in the end players will try out what they've seen >_>;

I vote Muramasa but both are great.

Side note. Do we know how much Dustforce is going to be?

Deception is a lot of fun, if you're more into planning attacks than executing them. The execution is still key, but I always spent way more time laying out my series of traps and finding ways to extend my combos as long as I could. It really is a unique game.

Having not played it since I was a teenager, I'm excited to see what I think about it now. I'll probably enjoy just for the nostalgia alone, regardless of the actual quality.

Sounds good! Too many games I want to buy for my Vita these next months! My poor wallet ;<

Come on store updated I want to shit my pants off!

I'd rather not go there. I feel a surge of spoilers like the Bravely Default thread. I might as well finish the game first before going to the thread.

It's rather a surge of "plot" :p

You can also just run.

In the original Dissidia I think you didn't even have the R+T dash from the start.

Is that why everyone seems to like it so much? I didn't bother with NG+ at all, because I found the game to be pretty dull and was glad to put it aside. Still worth it for the music alone though.

Uncharted GA was so boring to me that I didn't want to touch another Uncharted game afterwards. I might have to give the series another try though because the new Tomb Raider, which is supposed to be an Uncharted clone, is completely clicking for me.

Golden Abyss is the worst one in the series and not made by Naughty Dog at all.

Both Uncharted 2 & 3 are better than Tomb Raider IMO. TR is better than the first Uncharted and GA.

Uncharted GA is awful.

The subnative res really didn't help matters. Everything looks both blurry and pixelly. I'd rather tone down the graphics quality for better IQ.

Apparently Toukiden was already released in my country. It's only R2 though. Fuck, I can't buy it because I'm R1.

Just saw that in my local FB Vita group.

Edit: False Alarm.

I dont like Monster Hunter but i loved SS, would i like Toukiden? Before you say try the demo im out of space and dont want to be bothered to delete anything unless i think its worth the trouble :D

Anyone in the same boat that likes SS and dislikes Monhun?

Thanks in advance!

I miss the VitaGAF thread, posting here feels so unpure haha

Well, Uncharted 2 is better than Tomb Raider in almost every aspect. Better history, better characters, less QTE shit, better artstyle, snow is really good looking, and imo level design (even if the scale is smaller) is better. I can't say about gunplay, I played TR2013 with KB/M and Uncharted with a DS3. The bow was a really cool addition, I missed silent weapons in U2.

So much hate for Golden Abyss, I loved it

I really liked it. It's more like U1 than 2 and 3, the bite sized chapters suit a handheld rather well, auto aiming was really cool. The supernatural plot twist in that game was funny
because there wasn't any supernatural plot twist! lol
.

I even got the platinum... but it's rather easy for me farming platinums on the Vita. I have GR, Uncharted and Tearaway so far. P4G will follow sooner or later (I'm not in a hurry, it could take me a year xD)

Nah, I thought it was available but the guy who posted it said it was just to inform guys that the R2 has a manual included in the copy.
It's still too fast to get a hold on the game I think.

Slower than SS, combat work similarly to MonHun but definitely faster. While I view SS as different take on hunting action, Toukiden much more similar to MonHun except it being faster paced. I don't have any trouble getting into Toukiden with the demo, but still have difficulty with MonHun right now. That I think should mean something for you. Better to check the demo, its neat.
