dude lol. Take Two is around 40 billion $
Sony is about 180 billion $. both are at 220B $

You probably can buy both, giving you still have 30B$ premium for both.

Hell, even Nintendo is about 105$ billion.

If any of these companies' stock went down a little or you got an extra 50 billion change between the couches, you can buy them both.

Because I'm a freak, I'd bring back Apeiron (sp?) and give them a freaking ludicrous budget to make a pauseable real-time squad tactics game. AAAA fringe-genre game.

That'd be wild. Some might call that a waste of money. I call it...
Uh Oh Omg GIF by ESPN

Well, I think it would be a great way to get new people onboard a fun genre!

I'd buy Sony, fire Neil Druckmann on the spot, and order Uncharted 5 to be made ASAP. I'd audit every single rotten apple trying to push identity politics in any studio, especially Santa Monica. I'd fire and ban that fraud Hermen Hulst from ever stepping inside Sony again, and bring back Shuhei Yoshida and Kaz Hirai to their rightful positions.

And finally, I'd force all the movie studios to make anime adaptations and put the Japanese in charge of all of Sony Pictures. That alone would fix a lot of things.

R* for whatever they cost 50BN or whatever. The other 200BN will be spent quadrupling their workforce so we get a GTA/RDR every 3 years alternating and another game in-between each release like a bully 2, manhunt 3, midnight club, warriors 2 and new IP.

Not to mention remakes and remasters of their classics. Bring back the glory days.

Whoever owns Origin Systems and/or Sierra Online.

I'm bringing back Wing Commander, Strike Commander, Ultima, King's Quest, Police Quest, Space Quest, Front Page Sports Football/Baseball, etc...

In short, I'm bringing back the best of 90s gaming.

I miss the Dead Space 1/2 era Visceral Games. So for $250B, I'd bring back all the people who worked on those and then buy a tropical island and a chunk of land the size of the UK with the remaining $249B

Does that amount of money only cover the purchase of the developer or does it also account for runway and any costs associated with contract buyouts?

This was my answer

Also give me Bethesda, I will have em crank out Fallout and Elder Scrolls every 3 years, alternating.

Absolutely valve, if valve gets controlled outside powerful groups that want gaming more censored this will be huge problem for indie scene.

The dev im super jelly ninny has, monolith software, they make such a great jrpgs despite crazy hardware constrains even back from wii times:

That dev team under super constrained ninny hardware is like a genius artist/scientist being born in extreme powerty not being able to get proper education beside primary school...

Do I have to spend all the money? I'd just buy an indie dev I really like, like Sabotage Studio, and just give them a couple mil a year to do whatever they want forever. Use the rest of the money to live lavishly.

If I just wanted to make money, probably something like Valve, Tencent or Nintendo.

If money is irrelevant and it's more of a personal project, probably Square. They are one of the publishers I want to like but I simply don't, I love their history and a lot of their franchises but I mostly dislike the direction they have taken as a company/dev over the last 20 years.

Hazelight Studios. They only made three games so far but all of them are truly amazing game-play wise and relatively bug free.
After Split Fiction, i believe that Josef Fares is on his way to become a modern Miyamoto or Tezuka.
  • A Way Out (2018)
  • It Takes Two (2021)
  • Split Fiction (2025)

Well I mean obviously I'd buy Nintendo
