• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

No Rest for the Wicked will be priced at $60 when leaving early access, game's currently on sale for $24 till Feb 5th (40% off on Steam)

It's a beautiful game with some fun moments but to me there wasn't really any thrill with finding chests. There just filled with duplicate items you already have and I was spending alot of time managing my inventory as well as how much weight I can carry. I get that this is what these games do but I didn't care for this part.
The loot system deffo needs work but that has been fed back to the Devs I've seen. Hopefully they fix it.

Game is 33% complete. 1.0 is apparently 2x times bigger than current map. So I expect this to release in 2027 ( or even 2028 given the slow pace of development lol).
They are way ahead internally. They wont release any more content for EA just testing out new systems. All the remaining story and maps are reserved for 1.0 release so its definitely coming this year

Sales tactics this or that. I just hope they are financially stable enough that they don't have to rush the game. The EA version is really promising and it would be a shame if they'd have to compromise in the end due to financial pressure.

They announced 1 million sales a few weeks ago and they sold a lot of copies during the free weekend so dont think they are in for a rush

Don't worry, we're a small team and just this recent sale ensured that we can take the time we need to ship 1.0 at the quality that we'd want.

I think everyone at Moon is very aware that people expect another masterpiece from Moon Studios. And frankly, I'm quite confident given where we're already at with all the content :)

Glad to hear it. You guys just keep cooking until you are satisfied and feel ready to release then. After what you delivered with the Ori games and what's already in the EA version of wicked I have no doubt that the result will be worth the wait. Good luck 🤞

I know your comment wasn't a sales pitch. I have faith the studio will deliver another great game. What I've played already is very fun.

Yes. Managing the inventory currently feels a bit cumbersome, but it seems like something that could be fixed with some minor tuning. The sheer abundance of loot can feel overwhelming, so it would help to reduce the drop rates a bit. Also, improving access to storage and adding sorting features would go a long way.

Is the game fully playable with a joystick?
You should try to play it with a flight yoke and rudder pedals, it's even worse.

...But it's great with a controller!

This is one of those PS Plus games. Probably doesn't offer much for 60 dollars despite looking good in trailers.
You have no clue of what you are talking about.

Even in its current state (which isn't supposed to be even half of the final game, allegedly) most of what's already there is of incredible high quality.

Defending a premium price increase for an indie is retarded af, no matter the quality of the game.
My man, I think you are retarded as fuck.

Think about it. We didn't have 400 devs working on Wicked for 4 years in order to make it 'AAA'. But we did have 90 devs at Moon and I did the very first prototypes end of 2016. So please explain the difference.

And content-wise, you'll have a lot more content in Wicked at 1.0 than in 99.9% of all AAA games out there.

Souls-like x Zelda x Diablo with some base building.

That sounds like it could be up my alley, but admittedly I usually avoid early access games because I'd rather wait until said games are polished and feature complete.

Have they said anything about an estimated release window for 1.0?

WTF is up with those character designs? Oh and a "body type" game. EZPass at any amount.
What the fuck are you talking about, there's a male and a female option, what more are you asking for. I guess you're disappointed over the lack of a "bitch" option for you.

Spare me the bs. I know ure full of shit lmao. Your ramblings on x in the past years are proof enough. Ppl can defend you all they like, this place is a consumerist minority after all, they spend even 100 euros on something if its good. Terrible mentality to have. Good luck with your game. I loved ori and i will give ur game a chance, but i will never defend price increases even if Jesus himself did it. Calling someone retarded, jokes/tag aside, because they dislike price gouging is idiotic, more so from the man who owns the studio.

1.0 as a PS6 launch title!
That would be something. It's quite demanding so on PS5 it would be scaled back.

It was supposed to be a joke based on your very own avatar :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Will wait for the full release. If it really is that good, ill pay the $60 or wait for the next sale.

Never played the Ori games but im just really not into that art style. Maybe one day since they have a lot of acclaim Ill be able to look past it.

Not like i dont have like a hundred other games ive been meaning to get to.

Great to read man!!! I think this game could really be for me, but I'll have to wait on another sale since I also just bought Cairn which also looked great. Its nice to see a dev post here again :)

Good luck to you and the team man 🔥

Well, at least they are being honest. Other games charge the same price for early access and on release.

It was supposed to be

Hey man, since we are on topic... Where can we get a CLEAR summary of what changes/additions are supposed to come in the future for the game?

I've heard of "at least four more zones" , for instance, and some people commented on some vague upcoming "class system" that will change things significantly...
But as far as I'm concerned that's a little more than hearsay at this point and the only semi-official source are these two hour long chats on youtube.

This pricing model pretty much guarantees I won't consider buying a game until it's dropped to next to nothing.

Does this have multiple difficulty settings? Is it frustratingly hard? Can you pause?
Yes, it has multiple difficulty settings. There's an Easy Mode if you're easily getting frustrated.

And no, right now you can't pause. It's Multiplayer and has some realtime mechanics for refining resources.

I've seen reddit threads saying it could be played single player entirely offline. Did that change?

Maybe I'm out of the loop but didn't some of the games devs come out and say the game was in danger of dying out because of a lack of funding or something?

Am I just crazy?
