What’s your favorite Gundam series/movie?

My cereal friend recently mentioned to me that he watched 0080: War in the Pocket, and it made me all nostalgic for Gundam. I don't think I've seen a Gundam series since I was I was in college, and that was probably SEED. But I'm pretty sure I've seen all of the ones prior to that, and 0080 has always been my favorite. I also loved 8th MS Team.

Never really cared too much about Wing. I'm a UC kinda guy.

But what's your favorite?
 
I only watched Gundam SEED, the Gundam SEED Sequel and Gundam 00. Gundam 00 is my favorite so far. I tried to watch Gundam The Witch From Mercury but I dropped that halfway though. I plan on watching Iron Blooded Orphans, I heard that one is good. And I plan to eventually get to the older stuff eventually

I can only say that Seed Freedom is the worst piece of crap and a most boring experience I've ever had at the movies...

Worst characters, worst human fights... A super hateful female protagonist...

A boring story... A really bad experience...

I even wanted to leave the theater.

This movie deserves a Razzie, and I'm giving it a gold medal, but for a bizarre experience.

I'm gonna reveal something embarrassing here, but when Seed came out, I did my one and only cosplay as Kira.

I quickly discovered that it was not for me. But I will admit that I looked damn good in that $200 jacket I had commissioned.

I'm also partial to 0083: Stardust Memory, 0080: War in the Pocket, and 08th MS Team.

MS Gundam (original version). The feel of the drawing and painting just 'feels' right. Combined with the story, characters, and setting make great entertainment.

I love Orphans story and characters a lot too.
 
I have a soft spot for Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz. I know they are not considered the best, but Gundam Wing was the first Gundam series I was able to watch in it's entirety on TV back in the day. And I remember being pretty damn excited for Endless Waltz when that came out. I threatened violence on my brothers if they attempted to claim TV when that was on.
 
I have huge nostalgia for Wing, because it was my gateway to Gundam. If I was going to pick one to rewatch today, probably 08th MS Team. Still got the Miller's Report DVD.

Don't worry about what other people think... People will always complain about everything. Those same people are the same fools who copy that detail on Halloween...

It's the same thing. Just ignore them.

I hate going to convention. I'm a grouch in RL, I'm not a people person at all. I used to go to anime/comic conventions back in 2005 and I stopped at 2016. I'm not a cosplayer at all and man the crowd was such a turn off for me. Conventions are a total social thing that's just not for me

Thanks for making this thread, I just finished downloading Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans through Amazon Prime and I'm gonna to start watching it today

Be ready.

It's intense and you will not want to stop binging it IMO. One of those few shows, in my honest opinion, that large swaths of it is absolutely near impossible to stop.

It isn't perfect, but it will play with you in such a fascinating way by the end.

Update us when you finish!

It's basically a remake of the original MS Gundam. Most Gundam material will make more sense if you've at least watched the three original movies.
 
UC + Turn-A 79-99.
I don't care for much past that so far…

Going to work through the 90s alt universe stuff. I'm on Wing now and it's a hoot.
 
I've seen G Gundam, the original, Wing, 08th MS Team, and Seed. I enjoyed them all, but Wing has a special place as it's the first one I watched completely. It feels the most 90s to me and just fits the vibe of all the stuff I loved in that era.
 
I've only watched the original series and the first film (War In the Pocket I think it was called?). They were really good.

I'm not really interested in the other series because I assume they lean more and more into the New Type psychic powers stuff and weird designs. For designs, the Zaku looks cool and that's it.

I watched Wing (as a kid, out of order, don't remember much...), SEED, 00 and IBO and I think Iron Blooded Orphans is the best one.

Also dropped WfM after few episodes, hahaha.

I hope so since I love Gundam 00, it's in my Top Twenty when it comes to favorite anime. I have never watched the movies. Also I still have two of the opening songs stuck in my head
 
Enjoyed the first Hathaways Flash and looking forward to the sequel. They are definitely killing it on the music department, first SZA now Guns n Roses.
