Pearl abyss are blocking people for asking them to show base ps5 footage of crimson desert.

"Can we see footage of the game on the most popular platform before it comes out"

I don't understand how anyone can be this inept, you're better off completely ignoring the question and saying absolutely nothing.

Ultimately the marketing team failed here so that's on them. If there's nothing to hide, then there should be no problem releasing gameplay footage potential customers are asking for.

I would doubt that considering Sony marketing has done nothing with this game, nor was it included in their last SoP. All of the recent deep dive videos were done by Pearl Abyss themselves.
 
I think pretty much all companies, especially game devs, should only post promotional material on social media.
Do the interviews and other stuff, but just stay away from comment sections.

The sop in September literally had their launch trailer on ps5 pro exclusively. They have exclusive PS5 pre-order bonuses that no other platform has also. There is clearly a marketing deal.

Not that this matters anyway as they just released base console footage on the japan PlayStation channel now.

The game is finished, the way it launches isn't going to change drastically in the next few days.

Yes I'm sure no other game has released since cp2077 that didn't show console footage before release.

They just released base ps5 footage a few hours ago and wouldn't you know it, it looks perfectly fine so there you go.

Agreed. Pearl Abyss's terrible PR should just shut up and release the video. It would assuage fears and give them good PR.

Reforge has been extremely obnoxious about the whole ordeal. He just wants some attention, maybe needs it. If people pre-order a product without any information that's on them. Reforge coming off as some protector of Base console players. Sure, it's strange, at best, nothing has been shown for base consoles and only specs. well, guess what... wait until someone reviews it and make a decision then.

That doesnt look very good at all, even compared the the Pro footage. Although the video quality is terrible so maybe harsh to judge from this vid.

EDIT. Actually i take it back, the menu screens and video overlays are very high quality, clean and sharp, so this could very well be PS5 footage and man its blurry as hell, and lacks the fine detail of the other versions.

And what exactly people expected from 1080p without any reconstruction? This won't look much better than FFVII Rebirth when it comes to image quality on base PS5.

But performance should be close to Pro version.

For what it's worth, resolution and image quality are drastically different things. Plenty of games this gen claim to be one thing but the actual image on screen is laughably blurry and low quality.

I'm sure this game will be fine. But it's annoying they aggressively won't show footage.

Someone else in this thread provided this link. It's in Japanese though. It looked average to me. Not eye gougingly bad, but not gorgeous either. As far as performance, I noticed a little stuttering in combat, but not enough for it be game breaking or anything. Looks solid technically. Thankfully, we don't seem to have a Cyberpunk situation ahead of release.

CD Projekt didn't receive enough scrutiny and we all know how that went.

Most people want Crimson Desert to succeed but their refusal to show base PS5/XSX footage being that very same Cyberpunk situation to front of the mind.
