‘SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE’ - Biggest Domestic Opening of 2023 so far

Yeah just not my thing. I don't mind fanservice but I felt this was way too much fanservice and the plot suffered for it. I'm worried that when I eventually see Across The Spiderverse, I might hate the movie due to that aspect of it.

I'm getting tired of movies and shows trying to use fanservice to hook me in, when lot of times it's used poorly

Got you.

I think this one would be much more enjoyable for you, at least from my estimation.

No Way Home was pretty much entirely about fanservice, as the whole plot revolved around the characters from the other movies showing up, whereas this one revolves mostly around Miles and the established plot / characters from the first one, with most of the nods / fanservice existing in the background.

I'm way less excited for it; did really enjoy the first, but "multi-verses are ZANY" storylines can just be taken way too far. Really tired of that shit, also wish the MCU would go back to like.. stories about stuff happening on earth lol

I hope so too, but I'm gonna be waiting for this to come to VOD since I hate going to the theater. So I have at least next month till it hits VOD. I haven't went to the theater at all this year.

Yeah I get that, theaters are not for everyone.

I go about once to twice a week. Seen 38 movies so far this year. Lucky for me there's an IMAX nearby with a €30 a month subscription fee, so I usually go on weekdays after work, not too many annoying teenagers around 🤣

Why I hate watching movies in the theaters

Getting tickets early
Having to waste gas and money
Concessions prices
Crowd (I remember watching The Dark Knight when it first came out and it wasn't opening night since I was forced to go this wedding on the day that movie premiered. When I finally watched it, this guy behind me was on his phone and talking so loud and was doing even loudly. I had to tell the guy multiple times to shut up, he kept on doing this. Not to mention other times. Worst theater experience I had)
I can't pause the movie to go to the bathroom, or make myself lunch or dinner and come back

Ever since I stopped going, I've enjoyed just renting the movies way more when they come out on VOD
