As usual comment's are golden, haha

Also cuz of the music everyone walking with their hands in their pockets or driving a car looks as cool as a 1905 version of dolemite

I love San Francisco. My favorite city. Video is a real trip.

Perfect.

watching it again it strikes me how many men there are compared to women. I saw maybe 6-8 women in the entire film. I wonder if that's a gender roles thing.

2 more years until the Cubs Dynasty begins!
:lol

This perspective fucked with my head though. Video was amazing and it completely blows my mind that it was filmed only a couple years before the Cubs won their last World Series. :lol

so? does that make a difference? Even if they all lived to be 85, they're still all dead and everything they ever thought about amounts to nothing (unless they did something to advance humanity)
Whats your point? Are you trying to make me feel bad or something, because I can see little good going farther down that train of thought. Be happy to be alive, and maybe hope science finds a fix for that 'aging' thing before you die.

That's absolutely awesome. This was a time where everything felt new and interesting. The world was like a giant park with tons of undiscovered secrets and wonders.

The funny thing is that people a hundred years from now will probably think of our age in the same way despite all the cynicism we have today.

Great movie indeed. That's what's so great about film. It would be even more awesome to see it in native resolution. The fact i love is that it's old enough so you can see an almost different world, half modern and half medieval (well almost). Some farmer driving in a big city with his horses and cart seems so weird.

In some Bluray edition of old movies, it's absolutely magic. Like in 400 blows of The Red Balloon, you can see 50's Paris like it was shot yesterday, and everything seems so oooooooooold cause there was people and technologies that were actually old for their time. Like old people in the 50's could be dressed as in their youth's area, 60 years ago...

Thank you for posting this. I completely agree about the oddity of seeing people from 105 years ago doing mundane things like jaywalking.

Not even. Jaywalking requires traffic laws to exist. That's just self-controlled chaos right there.

Great video, really highlights how fast human civilization has advanced in the past 200 or so years. It's amazing to think about all the technological and social change that has occurred during those times, and that it still is occurring at blistering pace today though you don't really appreciate the fact when you are caught up in it.

When I think about it, life is hugely different for us then it was when I was a toddler 20 years ago. Hell, I even think about what life was like 10 years ago and it is stark.

Even though i'll be much older, it is very exciting to think about how our civilization will grow and change yet again in the next 20 years, and that this truly can be the dawn of a golden century.

Thats a cool video.

I would love to see how in the future they study all the vlogs, youtube videos and facebook pages. My children and my children's children would know how big of a dick I was.

Hopefully there will be a turn when shit like twitter and facebook won't be more important to some people than the real life and you start doing stuff instead of just talking about it..
