It's definitely got some '01-05 cues, which is understandable because for all its flaws, the current-gen Civic is the best-selling generation of that car to date. But it's also got some TSX earmarks, like the slim lights and the cut of the windows. The only thing I'm not fond of is the wheel design, which isn't bad, but it just makes it look like a Corolla. In all, it's a design that seems oddly familiar to me, but is clearly not simply a carbon copy of anything on the road right now. I like it.

Interesting look... not sure how I feel about it yet...... the rear from that angle is reminiscent of the TL to me. I'll be interested in seeing the performance #'s of the LX, EX and Si versions... as well as the cost.

I like the accord alot more then the civic.

I love the accord nose... I HATE the accord tail... that curved bottom end has got to go...

What goes around comes around. Volvo seemed to lift some of the styling of the mid-'90s Accords when it did it's first major S80 non-boxy redesign, and now the upcoming Civic reminds me of the Volvo S40.

here is the new 2006 honda civic that europe is getting

looks like they are going back to the early 90s sports hatch styling over the ultra boring MPV look of the current car.

as happy as i am with my civic hx, i f*cking hate 4-door cars.

damn -- that european '06 civic design looks frikkin sweet!

....

Besides the fact that they have a similar color? uh... I don't see it.

I am however noticing TL side styling cues...

Yummy... if I was in or just getting out of college in my early 20's.....

That front shot is reminiscent to me of a late model Accord coupe... say...'94? The civic has more aggressive angled lines though.

The aesthetics and curves of the rear look way too much like the current Maxima. I'm talking about the trunk lines and the bumper.

Yeah the coupe looks hot! I had Civic 2002, currently I'm driving Citroen Xsara VTS (2004) and I will change it to 2006 Civic for sure.

That pic is of the concept Hatchback, not coupe.

yikes, why would you pay for an RL, that looks like TSX, that looks like a civic....the TL was the only odd one out of the bunch, and then they went and made the civic have some of its attributes. seems to me they need to diversify their product line.

Uh have you been following the industry at all? Product line similarity is something that all the brands are doing... the Civic and the Accord were the odd men out... now the Accord is just the odd man out, I think it's due for a refreshing shortly.

Well if that is the trend, then that is the trend. I personally wouldnt pay 35k for a TL and have a 18k civic look extremely similar, from afar at least. Personal choice I guess.

Blah. Looks more plain than a Corolla.
Can nothing touch the Mazda3?

PS: Bring the Scions to Canada Toyota!

Seriously. Civics used to be SMALL. Now Civics are the size Accords used to be.

Yeah this has been going on for years... and it's not just the Honda line... look at the Toyota and Nissan lines... look at how big the Corolla is now compared to the 80's... hell look at how big the Altima is now compared to the previous body design.

yah, it's going to be near impossible to buy a truly small car in the us in a few years. hell, it already is, really.

That brings to mind that we may have skipped the most obvious car that looks like this and effectively WAS the equivalent of the new Civic, the "downsized" mid-90s Accord itself...

<pats self on back.>

;)

I meant the first time with a picture of a silver 4-door for comparison, I also referenced it earlier when talking about how things went from this earlier Accord through Volvo and then back...

I really dislike where Honda is going with getting rid of tradition grills. That's the one thing I hate about my Accord.

I wish there was a way to fit the Japanese 'Inspire' front to my coupe :(

That whole front end + lights + real foglights = so sexy to me

Chappelle> " I wish I had more hands...So I could give that car 4 thumbs down...HAHAHA"

I'm glad people don't like the look. That means it'll be cheaper to buy when I get one. Probably a 2007 or so. My 92 Accord only has 130k on it.
