Here in Europe it is the politicians who are forcing manufacturers to go all EV by 2030.

Volvo was very quick to jump on the band wagon for example, but in secret they spun off their engine development department into a different company and have continued to develop new engines. And just a few weeks ago Volvo announced that it will not be possible to go all EV by 2030.
So they really didn't believe it in the first place.

Ford has also backtracked on this. And some German brands as well AFAIK.

The carmakers aren't idealistic and brain-dead like EU (and European) bureaucrats and politicians; they're realistic, as that's what makes money.

Europe does not have the electricity generation capacity to properly power itself now without imports of fossil fuels from unreliable sources. That's with not even close to 50% of small to medium vehicles being EVs. And very few European countries are prepared to or even able to increase electricity generation any time soon.

The typical demagogy from European polititians, or better the EU. The first to raise the voice in favor of the green agenda and nothing much to show for it yet.

I hope Mazda is healthy. They make very, very good cars. Amazing value for the price.

Nissan has some great body styling but I'd hate to own one.

Maybe that's why so many people I know get Nissans? Some sort of default option/looks fine thing? They keep falling apart and they keep getting more lol.

A few years ago I drove this orange hot sporty looking Sentra but it felt like garbage, like a go cart. Every penny was put into making it look cool.

Great, we're going to lose three great (well, not really Nissan bar the odd model) auto manufacturers to one giant blob.

That said, I doubt they'd survive of their own, and the European ones are just a few giant blobs these days anyway yet the brands still sort of survive.

What Da Ffffffffff

For real though… what?!

Skyline, Silvia, Laurel, Z - what an effing run. Literally grabbing the moniker “Godzilla” for the r-chassis as it was seen as the king.

The random 50s car retro “just because we feel like it” releases in the 90s; Figaro, Be-1, Pao, S-Cargo, etc.

Come on bro. ZERO Honda runs are anywhere close to that, and don’t even get me started on Evo-bishi.

Unless we are purely talking boring commuters and reliability. Sure.

Honda the vast majority has good cars, they’re trying to figure out EV when Toyota and Tesla makes EV and hybrid look easy.

Toyota making EV and hybrids look easy, doesn’t help them too much if their production capacity is a dud. And tesla, I give you the Cybertruck.

Reliability is the main thing that helps ensure a sustainable business model. Even Alfa Romeo, notorious for rust, are others reliable.

Anyway, I'm a Mazda fan, so don't at me for any of these companies.

Well this is the end of Infiniti then unfortunately. My 2013 G37 Sedan has by far been the most reliable car I have ever owned and I beat on it. All these company mergers just make the market even more bland. Honda isn't going to let Infiniti exist with Acura and Acura has nothing I'd consider buying at this point as a G37 replacement. Lexus doesn't either.
