Daaamn, the new bf3 expansion looks like another game.

The rough corners and asset scaling to suit large maps of vanilla BF3 made me feel like Crysis 2 DX11 was always the better looking of the two. CQ map pack for BF3 comes close if not exceeds it. It looks unbelievable in motion, especially watching walls, glass and furniture get torn to shreds during gunfights.

A proper FEAR game, in vein of the original, looking like this with an equal level of destruction would be next generation kind of amazing.

Edit: Nvm, I see you gave that info in the link you posted. Your specs are way above mine, and if you're getting 40-60 FPS it probably means I'll be getting like...15-20

Depth of Field is oddly enough not present in BF3 except for in cut scenes. It is even not applied to your gun sights in LDS (iron sights).

It's a shame that higher framerates are causing glitches. The 60fps limiter does not work with my steam version.

Still loving this game. Even though it took me forever to properly set it up for the X360 controller with Xpadder.

Suppression = out of focus
Depth of field = out of focus

Why does a distinction need to be made? Either way it looks completely unnatural and laughable in screens.

The distinction is made, because one implies it's on permanently and the other is temporary.

I also don't think it's an awful way to impair the players vision. Beats red jam.

Lol that is pretty much permanent in BF3.

DayZ's character impairment when under fire is shaking of the hands/crosshair and a subsequent loss of accuracy, seems more realistic that I'd get the shakes when shot at instead of my vision suddenly blurring around the edges and becoming tunnel-y.

It's absence from the game(BF3) can't be justified because the game does that very thing when an explosion goes off near you, instead it shakes the screen and not your arms (which is essentially the same effect = temp loss of accuracy).

Edit: in the end is all comes down to the devs choice, regardless of it though... some players like the jam, some like the shakes, and others the blur.

Yeah, I gave up trying to set the controller up on PC. Its those fucking triggers that never register. I seriously might just end up getting the cheap ps2 knock off usb controllers to play.

Would you kindly share your Xpadder setup for this? I tried for ages to get it working right but I always ended up with the driving controls being in the wrong place...
