Bought the BFG version and was appauled by the downgrade in graphics. I have never gotten Sikkmod and the enhanced textures to work, and wow what a difference they make!

Yeah only one mod, Maldo HD :)

Corky! I recommend you use the cinematic DOF. I know on average it does not show as often due to being bugged (thanks crytek!) but it is more importantly attached to the higher motion blur setting (once again, why crytek did this is at question). With the cinematic DOF selected you also get a higher quality motionblur (better masking, more filmic) , particle motionblur, and the entire package is unified with the fullscreen motionblur.

The one problem I have with the higher DOF setting (even though it does look better when it is used) is that the near weapon Depth of Field disappears, and I love how that looks. Crysis 2 is one of the few games along with killzone that has it.

Cool. I plan on playing through Crysis 2 for the first time. Does that mod take away from the original developer's style or intention at all?
No, MaLDo's done a good job of creating new textures that look like higher quality versions of the originals, so the overall aesthetic isn't really affected.

Rage is one of the most visually uneven games I've seen this gen. Still think that the engine has great potential but needs to be either utilized better or be updated.

I would like inputs on what you would change. Colors? Lighting?

So is that just using SweetFX to tweak the colours/tone etc.? I've been a little cautious of using it to "alter" the original intent of the game... but if that's what you're getting, then DAMN.

I need to look into mucking around with it again. Hopefully DX11 support isn't just beta anymore.

Isn't that the mod that simulates myopia?

It's a mix of a mod called Imaginator (brutal color correction) then I use SweetFX to adjust. So basically my SweetFX will only work with imaginator.

It is still very hard to tweak. Sometimes I'm just getting in a new zone and I have to retweak a bit for that zone. Trying to find a overall setting. Also my biggest fear right now is to go too far and screw everything! Ah.

RAGE is we'rd like that. Its lighting basically reminds me of last-gen games, particularly a lot of Japanese games that clearly went for art over tech with very deliberate texture placement. In my opinion the only real problem with this game was that the megatextures thing was a bit ahead of its time. I hope it get's big on next gen hardware.

No. If you are thinking about qualitymod... then perhaps.

I am just talking about the default Depth of Field Values which are present in vanilla and maldo versions of the game

I was indeed thinking of "Quality Mod(my arse)".

Can someone tell me if I can still use the C_mod for smaller weapon models after I've installed Maldo 4.0?

Thanks man, I tried it out and I liked it more, and yeah it's a shame about it breaking some other features but hopefully quality mod fixes the dof-related issues whenever the next version comes.

Not at all, I'm usually wholly allergic against texture-mods because the majority of them just feel so out of place. Not maldo though, it's amazing, besides it's not just a texture-mod it has tons of tweaks and settings in the config utility that helps make the game look even better.

Crysis 2 , maldo + downsampling

Can't believe people think Crysis 2 is a good-looking game.

The things it's doing on screen from a technical viewpoint are insane, but it's painful to look at. Much better in motion anyway.

What's wrong with it? Aside from the color palette, which I'm not a fan of, I don't think it's all that bad.
