It's bad, Japan is the best Asian team by far and even they disappointed. Neither Japan or Iran played at the level I expected them to, I still have hope for game 2.
Sure, but that one was especially bad from a guy who is paid pretty well to do better than that.
When pro athletes make really bad plays on a big stage, they tend to get mocked pretty heavily. Hell, the Butt Fumble has a more detailed page on wikipedia than many of the players in this World Cup.
If only they had world class player like Altidore

Forgot about Australia, yeah they looked good. Coincidentally though they only looked good the first minutes in the second half and after Chile lost their captain and best player(Vidal). After like minute 80 they were on the back foot again(probably exhaustion). Still, they looked the best out of the Asian teams, but they're still doomed to take last place in the group. I only see Japan get a second place, and that's a long shot versus a solid Colombia.

Go back to Argentina's game in this same thread... Messi gets a lot of hate as well.
I think a lot of the hate comes from him acting like a complete brat when things aren't going his way. He throws tantrums and quits on his team instead of just sucking it up and trying to dig out of the hole.
Netherlands vs Argentina is the grand finals, so we'll see.
