FANTASY LEAGUE

  • Sign-up
Go to fifa.com's fantasy game and find the Neogaf league.

  • Playing the game
You have a budget of 100m available to build your 23 man squad. You can have a maximum of 3 players from the same national team in the group stage. This number will increase during the knock out phase.

Select your starting XI from the squad before each round - only those players will score you points. You can always sub a player during a round if he performs below expectations and you think one of the bench players can out-score him in that round.

  • Transfers
After the group stage you'll be given unlimited transfers. This allows you to get rid of all players that didn't make it out of the group stage if you can afford it. "Same team" limit will also be increased.

  • Rules and scoring

good job bjaelke. will there be a prize for the winner? last time during the Euro 2012 Kabouter was kind enough to offer a tag for the winner (if wanted / needed). maybe you could set up something similar.

Getting in on predictions, done the group winners and that based on gut feelings, will look into scores tomorrow. After the Euros I just found Fantasy way too hard to predict in national contests.

Joined up to both competitions. The fantasy competition's budget is incredibly restrictive - I've had to do a bit of research about Algerian and Iranian defenders to put a decent side together!

I'm a bit unsure as to how the fantasy rounds are split - the rules page says that the first round of games runs until the 17th of June, but the second round of games starts on the same day. Brazil's second game kicks off before Russia's first game, so do Russia have two games in the second round, or do Brazil have two in the first round? Up until what point can I change my team around for the second round of games?

Russia's first game is part of the first round despite being played after Brazil's game.

Ah, cheers. That seems like a sensible way to handle it. I suppose if you select a Russian or South Korean player for the second round of games and they get injured/suspended in their first round game then you're out of luck.

Here's my lineup, United bro style.

--------------Ochoa
Lichtsteiner-Nagatomo-Coentrao
De Bruyne--Pogba--Pjanic--Herrera
----Sanchez--Lukaku--Kagawa----

i ran out points so i even got one of the scrubs in my starting line-up. i actually have ronaldo on the bench, but i don't think he will do jackshit against germany, so immobile (what a promising name) has one game to prove himself before he's getting benched. if i was a halfway rational person i would sell either immobile or ronaldo and get a decent midfielder. but this kid delgado, i have faith in him. and looking at everyone's benches, i'm not alone.

Wait a second. I have C ronaldo in my bench and Villa and Neymar starting. Can I switch player after Spain plays without losing points?

Can't see an option to join the fantasy league, or do I have to already make my team before I can join?

edit: or maybe I already did join, nvm.

edit edit: Time to google these players.

You'll lose the points from the player(s) coming off. Only the 11 players on the pitch when the round ends will score you points.

Signed up for fantasy and am having a hard time filling out the bottom of my roster. Any suggestions?

One thing I will say, Fabian Johnson is a steal at 3.5m. He's going to play the full 90 in all 3 US games and will be involved in the attack a lot.
