Wow, legacyzero... Those are some absolutely fantastic Elite shots! I've been craving for a new epic Elite screenshot to serve as my laptop wallpaper and now I finally have some candidates for it. Please do more!

Thanks, and yeah, I'm having WAY more fun with this game than I thought I would. Absolutely a blast.

Nice screens m8, but 2 per post.

I really have to disagree, and I'm surprised that you think otherwise, Jim. Low poly assets, poor lighting (most lights aren't light sources at all), terribad vegetation, awful animations, and none of that promised water that flows in the right directions or tree branches that swing realistically. Not even simply cloth physics, when Star Wars: Battlefront had them all the way back in 2004. Sure, the game can look good in screenshots that are carefully cropped and measured, but in motion, during regular gameplay, Skyrim has always been an ugly game IMO, even in most of Hodilton's landscape videos.

Remember that Skyrim is still running on the same (terrible ) engine as Morrowind .

Modders can do amazing things but they are severely limited because of the ancient engine .

These look incredible. What settings are you using? I'm assuming you are downsampling?

Thanks man. These are 2880x1620 native, everything ultra or set to highest with smaa temporal 30fps on a 970. The colours is mostly time of day and sweetfx which I change often. I was thinking though the image quality isn't good enough and needs to be be like 6k. I tried 3840x2160 but there's hardly any improvement. Forcing supersample looks very good but very hard on my GPU.

I'm also using the E3 Lite Mod by TXGT to enable some basic stuff. Not sure if its really good yet. I find many of them add break and change to much.

I find the shots of Skyrim here really weird. Weird because no matter how many mods I apply to mine, it never looks anywhere near as good as the screens I see here.

Should be titled "2015 PC Screenshot Thread of READ THE OP!" :P

How come you've posted 4 images though. We've had an abundance of posts containing more than 2 images, even after Jim highlighted the problem twice, then on the same page (previous to this one) someone posts more than two and now you seemingly acknowledge this then post 4. More than 2 use thumbnails or make another post. Your 3 portraits show as full images. Depending on my desktop res they show 4 vertically. I could post 10 portraits horizontally and say set your desktop to 2160p and its like 2. Squeezing them across is still posting more than 2.

Are you sure the 3 portraits are full images? Try clicking one of them ;)
Anyways, although not mentioned in the OP, triptychs are allowed if you quote them.
I might be wrong here, but I believe limiting posts to 2 images has more to do with preserving the intended format of the thread than anything else.
Posting 1 full sized image along with a quoted triptych doesn't mess with that :)

Well your images are loaded full size in the background, they're not thumbnails. I could just rotate your 3 images 90 degrees and we have 4 images. You have 4 full size images loaded, 3 are essentially just rotated. Not that I'm bothered, just been watching it all unfold.

I'm not the thread admin or anything :P

I've given up trying to yell at people.

You know... the only time I was ever banned on this forum was for supposedly not reading the rules in the OP of an off-topic thread (even though I did... and I stand by the fact that I did not break any rules). But maybe that would deter people from posting here without reading the OP :)

As mentioned before, I think the concern here is preserving the format of the thread.
2 full sized images OR 1 full size image + 3 in triptych format = OK
3 or more full sized images = Not OK

Regulars here have been doing it like this since 2013... I don't make the rules, I just follow them ;)

Yes I caught that. I doubt the OP rules are primarily for format, rather to keep the thread moving in a 50 post per page thread. If only 2 for example 16.9 pics are allowed but as many as you want 9.16 images then fair enough. Perhaps an amendment to the OP is required for carte blanche portraits or quoted images. If we all start loading in 4,5,10 1440px2560 portraits per post then even the best computers and bandwidth are going to struggle.

I assume that's the intention for the two image two post limit and sometimes we see three sneak in under triptych. I can understand a sole 3 separate in a row but some should know it doesn't even line up in some resolutions and ratios and three in a row series should really be composited as three into one so they won't appear vertically. Also you had four but whatever, I don't personally have an issue so far. Four images if three are triptych and two otherwise it is then. :)

Hi guys,
I'm following a storyboard training and we are having a theme free exercice.
So I jumped on the occasion to incorporate Dark Souls for this exercice and I wanted to take some nice screenshots/videos with the freecam.

Using the freecam was a bit tricky but I managed to use it (Jim, thanks for your CE table by the way).
But... it would be really helpful to be able to timestop as I have to decompose start pose, mid pose, and end pose for every panel.
I tried F9 shortcut using DSfix without any success (the other shortcuts work correctly). I just had to remove the "#" in front of "togglePaused VK_F9" in DSfixKeys.ini, right? Or am I forgetting something?

Absolutely! I seemed to be one of the few people who thought that creating Skyrim with a rebranded ancient engine is a bad idea, but there you go. Bethesda fans will often disagree and tell you that the engine is fine and Skyrim is "beautiful" and the "best game ever", but if you've ever attempted to mod Skyrim, especially when trying to create some new features, the dreadful performance and surprisingly limited capabilities of the engine will more often than not be the reason you have to give up. And sure, it can look good with certain ENB in screenshots and whatnot, but in motion - in normal gameplay - it's still an upgraded Morrowind but with simpler gameplay and storytelling. :(

I love this shot.
Thanks!

It looks amazing. Congrats! I tried the texture pack and it looks great. Any other mod worth mentioning?

Which mods are you using? The model is for the character only?

I'm using the ningheim race for that character, it adds a new race just for your character, and using poupouri enb :)
