2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

You're not Dimitry Andreev, are you? (I always wanted to see that framerate upscaling stuff see working in a game)

Hah I wish, but no. I was on the audio team (music editor/implementer/etc). Dmitry's 60fps upscale was absolute genius though, I think you can still find his SIGGRAPH talk on it somewhere, with video examples. Unfortunately his technique didn't work on 360 because of certain tech restrictions from MS, plus we had only a few months to do the entire game anyway, so it was shelved for TFU3 / future titles. Then of course new management came in, and suddenly we were an Unreal3 studio, so practically all the Ronin tech was thrown out.
One of many bummers from that final era... check my profile if you need to see even more heartbreak :-\

If you worked on it, all I can say is that you did an astonishing job. TFU2's tech is still miles ahead of most games out there, five years after it was released. And yes, the fact that the game actually ran at all on the old consoles is impressive.

Thanks! :D Though again, all credit to our incredible art and rendering teams. They did some mind-boggling work with Unreal too later on, and EA snatched up quite a few of our senior guys, so it'll be very exciting to see what they can do with Frostbite!

OMFG :(

Upscale was one of the most exciting tech papers i've seen and it was not used anywhere in the future, except for maybe some of it 'implementation' in AA tech.
TFU was so tech amazing game, what a pity that gameplay wasnt really meant for me.
If You guys made Jedi Knight sequel with that tech, i would be Your fanboy for eternity :)

Is anyone have a good tuto for the reshade thing ? I can't find a decent one..

I don't understand what it's better, using Mastereffect or Reshade or Sweet fx or else, thank you very much.

So yeah, I went back to using an ENB because most of the bad graphics in Skyrim are, IMO, a product of the ugly vegetation. Because Winter Overhaul gets rid of almost all vegetation and replaces trees with a much better model, using an ENB will make the game look consistently good in regular gameplay and not just in select screenshots. Also, performance is much better when there's almost no grass around.

I actually prefer the look of that... I'll keep it in mind when I reinstall.

Sorry, but I still cannot believe how good this game looks for a game released in 2006.. but it is true that the DX10 mode is horrible un-optimized

Wow that TFU2 60fps upscaling stuff is really interesting. I was thinking about something like that a few months ago, it's interesting to see someone has already worked on creating an implementation. I'd love to see it in a retail game.

Hehe..lol. Yes for some reason when using a reshade mod and the printscreen key to capture the shots, it blurs some of the shots. Sometimes it gives it a cinematic look, at other times it's a bit too much.

Can I download that shit and go there if I own Crysis 1?

Is there some community of CryEngine 2 fan maps I don't know about?

It was a map that got quite a lot of fame amongst those of us who were modding Crysis 1 at the time, back in 2010. It was posted on the original Crysis forum, and if I remember correctly Crytek devs stated how good the map was, which was quite important as it was one of the few maps that got their endorsement back in the day.

Anyway, if you've got Crysis 1's editor (usually an attached download when you buy the game via digital distributors) you can load up the map in there and play it in the editor, although I'm guessing that the author will have compiled it as a map for the actual game by now.
