2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

Does anyone know how to fix hair transparency when using ENB ambient occlusion?

unfortunately it's a pretty messy process and has to be done mesh by mesh from what i've been told/done.

you have to open up the mesh with nifskope and then edit the alpha flag on the hair mesh under the NiTriShape of the hair mesh. it should be under the NiAlphaProperty section, with "flags" labeled at amount 4845. you want to edit the alpha flag properties to where the alpha test function is "greater or equal" and the alpha test threshold is like 65 or above (depending on how much the alpha is showing)

Might be worth trying to lower the sharpening on your Reshade settings. It's sort of counteracting the positive benefits of the downsampling, and it looks like it might be intensifying the banding that's present. There actually might also be some JPEG compression now that I'm looking again?

Would look awesome with some toned down sharpening

3840x2160 in game res and still gets 60fps even in zombie filled areas. Sogood.gif

Isn't dead Risign 2 not on MT Framework? I know the first is, ut didnt the studio shake up for that game make it not be MT framework?

For example, it doesnt have the MT framework motionblur that the first game has.

edit: watching some gameplay footage of the console versions, and reading up on it. Apparently it uses a different engine but still has per object blur. Interdasting.

I could definitely be totally absolutely wrong about that yeah. Regardless, game looks good!

I hadn’t heard of this until now. How does it play?
Great ! It's a IOS port, but a good one, with full Gamepad & K/M compatibility and updated graphics. It's very playable. The difficulty is low, bu the game seems pretty long (about 6 hours in the game and 30%).

It's really a clone of Zelda, though. But the developpers seem to be well aware of that :D

I don't have the sharpening filter on in reshade but I think it might have something to do with one I apply in irfanview just before saving it as a jpeg. There's not much downsampling from 1440p but I'm not sure if irfanview compresses them. I'll replace them later on today without the filter so let me know how it looks then. They seem to look great on my monitor in full screen so it's hard to gauge if they look great on everyone else's! Cheers for the feedback.

It looks quite nice in the screens. I don't have a Wii U and I haven't played a Zelda game since Twilight Princess so any Zelda fix is good for now. Thanks!

Hey everyone, love the shots. I'm new to all this. Just made a flickr account. I've uploaded some pictures and I'm still just experimenting. Once i've uploaded the picture how do I share it in the way you guys are doing here, where its just the picture that shows up and not the link?

My bad, what do you recommend?

Flickr: Two terabytes of storage and great for screenshot library management.
Picpar: Brought to you by none other than X3sphere, a simple and efficient image host.
Abload: Easy to use, doesn't compress jpegs further, auto-converts bmps to png nicely.

Might be worthwhile to post a full sized screenshot so we could see if it is because of the resizing method or something else? It could also be something on Flickrs end. I know Jims' said that Flickr will add compression and over sharpen images I think if they're not the full sized version?

The ones I've posted here so far are all at full size 3440x1440. Flickr isn't compressing them but I'm gonna go back to abload and see if there's a difference in quality. Cheers.

Wow, amazingly detailed. Would you mind sharing your settings for the free camera?

You mean the CE table? Yeah. I'll post it up eventually.

Gorgeous :) First shot of that game that I actually thought looked interesting. I wonder if I can timestop that game. Might be worth looking into.

Played with reshade while playing with gw2 first person cam whee
I thought ReShade disabled the depth buffer for online games. That's.... interesting. I bought Guild Wars but never played very much of it. No time for MMOs :(

Hardline looks poor I think.

More ESO from me.

I could say the same about ESO. The lighting looks so flat and dull. Though I think that also applies to FFXIV.

Heartily recommend giving GW2 another shot, it's the ideal MMO to play if you don't have much time but still wanna get into one. Took some time before it all 'clicked' with me but now that I understand most of it, it's so satisfying being able to play for short bursts and feeling like I had a good time and made some progress.

Both ESO and Hardline are mostly meh imo. But I think the lighting in FFXIV has a uniquely 'realistic' look to it at times, sometimes ESO has this as well. Not sure what it is. Watch Dogs has that too. Some people find it dull, I find it kinda cool. Wonder if it's a specific technique that is applied or if it's just similar tone mapping and such.
