Tbf when the page first loaded I thought it was Red Dead Revolver on PS2 For PS4 until I realized Revolver didn't look like that.
It does look a little ruff and it doesn't help sitting next to current gen stuff.
Sure I was just pointing out his hyperbolic "dreadful" with some of my own 👍😝

Love the Battlefield 1 stuff. How do you take the shots without any weapons showing? Is it a setting?

Nope lol hold the grenade button (L1) and after you take the picture cancel it (L2) before you throw the grenade when the share menu comes up. That way you can keep doing it without having to die to spawn back with a new nade. But make sure to do it with a pistol equipped that way there won't be a gun on the screen.

Nice. lol I'll have to try that out when I pick get the game on Friday.

Seeing RDR and BF1 shots back to back is mind blowing. Remember these talks we had several years ago about diminishing returns and how there's nowhere to advance the graphics from PS360 era? Yeah, that was total bullshit.

Hmm, actually I think it's quite the contrary - for MOST people (not tech-savvy) - there isn't really that much to tell those screens apart: RDR obviously has "bigger" pixels, maybe a bit less depth (AO), but otherwise both will look sufficiently similar to untrained person - both strive for realistic but stylised look, scene complexity is similar, draw distance as well. The biggest difference will be in materials, i.e. the use of physically-based rendering in BF1, but that is more due to advancements in engines than tech (it was already present in Remember Me on PS3/X360 AFAIR). Also, just check some time-lapse videos of RDR and it still looks astonishing today.

To put it differently, BF1 doesn't look 6x better than RDR, whereas X1 is 6x stronger than X360. One could argue that BF1 is 60fps, but even so - is it looking 3x better than RDR? Depends who you ask.

BF1 easily looks 6x better than RDR on these screens for me. And you have to count the resolution in also. This is something which people tend to write off as something unimportant but any resolution bump is one of key improvements to IQ in fact and will still be this in the future. It's also what eats up a large amount of processing power, probably even larger than new and more complex shaders do.

Eggbok, you should post those shots in the BF1 OT. I know a number of people have been asking for PS4 screens and they're the best I've seen so far.

RDR 2 | PS4 Pro

Jk! It's more of the Beyond Two Souls remaster!

The diversity of the vignettes in this game, in terms of atmosphere and tone, continue to amaze me. The Navajo sequence, like some of the Blaine County missions in GTA V, are probably the closest things to my dream game: A modern western.
