I'm not really 4K ready, so unless there's some other major reason to buy into the S model if I already have an Xbox One, I'm probably going to wait for Scorpio. I don't mind the size of the current model and I don't mind the external power brick.

Conference was pretty poor.
No big surprises with games announcements, everything is on Windows 10, Gears 4 featured last gen gameplay with disappointing graphics, Recore seems an indie production, Scalebound...ouch.....FFXV...double ouch...
I really liked Horizon and Sea of Thieves though.
Overall the impression is that they're just selling smoke talking about hardware coming at the end of next year at the cost of hurting sales of their just announced Slim model.

So basically they showed us everything they showed us last year with some small additions?

Really disappointed to be honest. I mean I am excite for the games but was expecting some new big reveals.

Problem last year was all this stuff was announced too early - seems they learned from that and this year showed games that are actually "coming soon". Best E3 conference in a while imo

They were the highlight of the show for me, apart from the S having UHD BR support and being sexy as hell.

I have a lot of faith in Platinum and ex-Retro guys definitely get me excited but I thought they just showed kind of poorly.

ReCore doesn't look so hot visually and I was hoping for a lot of atmosphere since its coming from Retro guys and it just didn't look all that intriguing. It was only a 2 min video though so I'm not saying it will be bad.

Scalebound looked really slow and just well yeah slow. It just didn't excite me.

I was watching while revising, but I liked it.
It's funny that when X1 was revealed, MS did a lot of missteps and Sony by default, was declared the savior of gaming by doing...nothing.
Now, with BC, cross-buy, cross-play and a clear interest in improving their (already excellent) controller, Microsoft has been taking great steps forward that are great for the players, the commitment they've been showing is very good to see. I don't mean this in a console wars bullshit way, just that it's an interesting situation.

The conference was a 6/10 for me.

It was a decent showing with a variety of interesting games.
We Happy Few was the standout with its weird premise (Joy pills?).

The pace of this conference is amazing. MS did not show much new in term of games. The new announcements were FH3 and DR4, which i find DR4 was good. Scalebound and Recore were very disappointing.

The issue with Scalebound is it seems to be a Japanese game attemping to be 'Western' that never turns out too well. Also I don't believe an audience is really there for that kind of more experimental game, especially slanted more towards an action JRPG. Have a sinking feeling it will get the Quantum Break treatment but hopefully PC gamers can bolster its sales.

The conference to me was a solid C+. The Scorpio announcement was surprising but moving everything to PC gives me more reason to upgrade my PC rather than buy anymore Xbox

I think it was a very good conference with strong pacing, stellar games, and plenty of actual footage. The Project Scorpio segment was also handled well and people don't seem as turned off by it as I anticipated.

The only issue I had, and it's a small one, was the lack of NEW game announcements. I do believe there were only three of note: Forza, Dead Rising, and State of Decay. Obviously not to sell those short but I expected and hoped for more.

Still an extremely stellar conference. The Xbox line-up between now and Scorpio looks great!

Basically everything they showed I wanted to play so that's a good conference for me. I actually though Recore looked Fun. Cross gaming sounds good and new hardware.

Just watched it. Solid show. A lot of the games they showed looked pretty good. I'm looking forward to Scalebound, Recore, Sea of Thieves, and Dead Rising 4. Of course these are all coming to PC so now I'm struggling to think of reasons to even hold on to my Xbone.

Can't be excited when all of it leaked before the press conference started, and did they really announce the slim XBO only to have it killed right a few minutes later with the scorpio announcement?

Also... that Rare game looks like virtual work simulator... and team work nonetheless!!! GIANT NOPE!!!

What was wrong with the Recore demo (well, trailer)?

Basically the same, though I didn't find Recore to be as offensive as some. I'm still excites for it.

People did not like Recore? smh

I honestly thought it looked great
I didn't like what little I saw of it, and that they didn't have a proper gameplay demo for it. Still excited to play it,they just didn't present it very well.

What happen to all the "These aren't even all the announcements" when things started leaking? The whole thing was leaked and everything was known. ekim said there was way more than what had been leaked.

Disappointing, scorpio saved it.

PC gamer stream just started...

Dude is on fire today!

lol, that dude is comedic gold... and so spot on too.

I really didn't understand this presser.

They had the games, but presented they in the worst way possible, they didn't speak about platform features like streaming everywhere (win10, win10 mobile, ios, android). They didn't announced expected features like keyboard and mouse support on xbone, and made it look like their unification is not supported by anyone XD

It was like, the opposite effect, it tried to destroy the hype I had in the products and platform features instead of building it up.

Keyboard and mouse was expected? Glad that didn't happen, and hope it never does.

It was let down by demos that didn't particularly look all that great.

Forza Horizon 3 was the highlight for me... Playground really know what they're doing.

To be fair. Everything they showed is being released within the year. If I'm remembering correctly? I would rather a conference be filled with titles we'll see soon. EA teasing Mass Effect for the third time in a row is just ridiculous.

yeah, same here but some people love to be hyped for games that are so far down the pipeline... it's weird.

This is true, I guess I was just expecting something to move the needle as they say. Still a strong conference with an excellent focus on the short-term.

One thing for sure, good on MS, no more CGI trailer without gameplay for new titles.
The downside is almost no new titles announced.

I'd give the conference a C+ or a B- if I'm feeling generous. It was weaker than last year IMO. Too much stuff we've already seen before and a severe lack of new announcements. New game reveals were pretty much just Dead Rising 4 which leaked beforehand and everything else was known. Scorpio was the closest they came to a megaton announcement which also gives MS an advantage given Sony aren't showing Neo but overall I thought the conference was underwhelming. That last half hour or so I was looking at the time just waiting for it to end. There was just nothing exciting IMO. It was just an update on games that were announced last year and not much else.

Hoping Sony fire on all cylinders later and redeem the E3 somewhat. Something tells me they're going to outplay MS much like last year.

I can't imagine anyone being excited for the Xbox Scorpio with the boring lineup of games Microsoft showed off today. I fell asleep. So you have a system with 6 Teraflops. What the heck are you going to play on it? The Xbone One doesn't even have one game worth playing and now a new system is coming out. I would rather have a system with 6 good games that 6 Teraflops, but it seems like most gamers today care about Teraflops more than good games.

I wouldn't say that XBO has no good games on it, but it is most definitely lacking in the first party department, and when most if not all of them will be playable on PC then what is the appeal of the Scorpio?, just the few die hard XBO guys happy to flaunt that they have the console that is able to display the finest pixels ever seen?... i don't think that MS will develop games exclusively for Scorpio but hey... we have one year or so to figure out.

Dead Rising 4 Exclusive or nah?

I do not recall the, 'Exclusive to Xbox One and Windows 10 [Store]' disclaimer in the beginning.

Outside of custom controllers, the new xbox live features, and Recore everything else looked mediocre at best. I mean Cuphead was still the most exciting thing they had to show. I just don't see a reason to jump in for the Scorpio much less the Xbone S.

I thought it was a really good conference, solid all round, and MS's best in years. I don't see Sony really having a better show, even if they do better at hype generation.

Some of the games didn't look great, but I'm encouraged that MS has learned some lessons. They won't sell me an XBO, but I might have to make a choice next year between upgrading my PC or buying a Scorpio.

Hey yeah. I think we used to be more accustomed to having titles being announced way ahead of schedule. Recently Nintendo and Microsoft seem to be focusing on the short term a great deal more. I like that for the most part. Of course now I have no clue what I'll be anticipating at next year's E3 from MS, but I suppose that's fine!

Not everyone wants to build or buy a PC. I don't understand the issue here. The console and PC market aren't suddenly comprised of the same small pool of people. They are comparatively more expensive and sometimes they can prove to be a huge hassle if there's an issue with drivers etc. PC ports also tend to be on the bottom of the food chain when it comes to fixing issues. There are a great number people with children. I think most parents would rather buy a console or two for their kids than a gaming PC.

So the new games were Forza Horizon 3, Dead Rising 4, and State of Decay 2 right?

Talk about playing it safe.

At least the hardware announcements were good.

Well yeah, but i bet that they'll just buy the slim over the scorpio since its cheaper, also... do you guys think that they'll do even crazier sells on the XBO's that are currently sitting in stores to make way for the slim?, or will they just send them back?... how does that work?
