2nd .hack//G.U. trailer is out!

Holy shit. PS2 is going to go down as the best system ever as far as rpgs are concerned.

Wow, the art + graphics are amazing. Story seems interesting too. I just hope they didn't spoil the ENTIRE VOL.1 with the end of that trailer :P

So this is being serialized similarly to the other .hack?
I believe so, and vol. 1 is supposedly as big as all 4 vol. of the first .hacks put together If I recall correctly

Was anyone able to complete that final area in .hack?

The one you have to go to after you beat the game. Where Mia's a kitten. Also is there a reward for completing the Item event?

The official sites been updated. Character bios, larger screens then the trailer shows of gameplay & story scenes too. I believe they also have a higher-res trailer but the server is "busy" (dead) and I can't seem ta download either atm.

Oh oh ask me! I beat each game twice!

For completing Hidden Darkside Holyground ya get
Mia back for one! And you also see the Epilogue credits too.
For finishing the Item Event you unlock a buncha in-game videos from when you met the SIGN characters in various portions of each game along with the SIGN OP song for use on your desktop!

No, I wasn't able to pass the level where you buy three more games.

EBgames.com has this as a preorder... at $59.99. And it's listed as a PS2 game. Anything to this?
given that it doesn't even have a release date in japan yet, it's a bit premature.

Waaaaahhh super good find Ferricide! :)

Lots of good quotes there like .hack started as a boring action game (although some people would still call it that), G.U. started as its own series, different gameplay mechanics from volume to volume and a possible Black Rose action game? Yikes!

*dies*

Okay having a lamo fansites got nothing on you guys! :lol

Job well done! Wish I coulda asked some questions to!

By the way Fragment was playable at TGS right? I haven't seen anything about it here though I've yet to really search deep.

yeah, it was. i only played it briefly. it was entirely based on the engine for the first games, no improvements that i saw. i took a sora-alike character through mac anu and then into a field map... and died. i was joined by an AI player character randomly when i entered the field map (though there were 2 demo stations, i dunno if they were actually networked in any way.)

since the game seems like it might not be coming out here, i didn't spend a lot of time with it. there was seemingly not much interest in it from the gamers on the show floor either... i just walked up and played it at an empty kiosk on the first public day.

I hope there is some kind of flashback telling the story of the other .hack games

I never beated the 1st one, let's hope they're more fun this time

Nooooooo!! ;_; Don't say that! Gah now I'm just totally gonna die again. It's not like it has dedicated servers and a fee. It's user-based for the most part so it wouldn't take much on their part to bring it here!

And on another note~any idea on if we're gonna get OVA's with the G.U. games? I need some shining ray of light!

well, the bandai USA people said they "hadn't decided" on fragment, and since they have decided on G.U. i am not going to hold out hope. honestly, i think i'll live. they said in that roundtable that fragment doesn't tie into G.U. i am not terribly excited about it.

as for anime, in the roundtable they said they won't be doing OAV discs with the games but "something else". but he also seemed to imply that there is anime coming. dunno. i'm sure more will be revealed when that .hack magazine hits stores in november.
