This show really didn't turn out to be what I expected but I'm honestly loving it. It has an X-Files format where each week we get some new religious themed supernatural shenanigans. The show can get pretty dark at times, but it tries to balance it out with borderline telenovela-like romantic plot points. I know this might sound dumb but it just works for some reason. The make-up and special effects are pretty good (what you would expect from an HBO show).

Anyone else enjoying this show? Episode 5 comes out tonight and I'm having a blast so far.

Trailer looks interesting, but I'm cautious because except for Chernobyl I didn't like any of HBO's new shows (I haven't tried all of them to be fair).

I finished the season recently and boy does this show run out budget and plot cohesion by the end. Waste of ... time sadly.

Watch the first 3. It's a bit trashy, and they went surprisingly large with that first episode, but entertaining enough and Megan Montaner is quite delightful to look at. I enjoyed the mirror episode. Suitably creepy. Supermodel mayor is funny as fuck though. That dude must spend half his day in the Gym to look that ripped all the time.

Yeah she's beautiful. The mayor is such a doofus, its pretty hilarious. The mayor's plot line only gets stupider/more fun as they develop his relationship with Megan Montaner.

I think it's also hilarious that the mayor's wife straight up looks like a ghoul.

I wouldn't say she's quite a ghoul, but she definitely has that high maintenance resting bitchface thing going on something fierce, but at the same time, Mayor could do better that's for sure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wrapped it up. Props to I collect VHS tapes for the recommend. Definitely trashy, but I had a good time with it. Aside from the somewhat less than spectacular special effects and the slightly absurd overuse of the animals I quite liked the ending and how they left it. Also, I think it's fair to say that Megan Montaner has no ugly bits whatsoever
