343 publish Halo Infinite planned fixes for season 2

It appears they want to give us news but stress this doesn't contain everything. Glad the warthog is getting fixed as it is too bouncy.
Can't wait for seasons 2 as for me, it's still the best shooter on the market and will go from strength to strength.

No plans to make AR damage drop over distance? No thanks.

Or remove it's unnecessary headshot multiplier? No thanks.

  • Feedback: Controller players believe M&K players have the advantage

We are aware of the sentiment between Controller vs M&K effectiveness and are analyzing the data now to find precise answers. Looking initially at the data we can say that it's not a black and white issue, as each input method lends benefits to different aspects of the game. This isn't a simple topic with a clearcut solution, but we do plan on addressing any disparities as best we can, while still playing to the strengths of each input. Look for more on this topic in a future update.

There is absolutely no evidence that M&K has any advantage in Infinite while there is data driven evidence that mid tier controller shitters can keep up with the best M&K players. Zero chance of me playing infinite until this shit gets addressed.

I can see why they tempered expectations: looks like Season 2 is basically Season 1.

Six months for these types of balance changes and fixes is ludicrous. This is a weekly patch in other games. The lack of concrete fixes for the desync and laggy connectivity issues, which dominate discussions spaces, is kind of scary at this point.

I read a great post on the Halo subreddit that basically said 'I need time, patience and understanding before I spend money on the next battle pass. Considering that's what 343 are constantly asking for I'm sure they understand'.

Guy is right, I'm not spending feck all until they seriously get a grip on this game and 1 new arena map doesn't cut it.

Damn, that's a pretty good list, especially the networking side of things.

  • Motion Tracker (Radar) will have its outer edge detection enabled for shooting and sprinting in social playlists

Shooting - awesome, finally, but sprinting - wtf? What's Halo's obsession with running, for real? This will only screw you even more when trying to join the team after those awful respawns...

Personally I'd like more arena maps (not a Btb guy). And there is a rich history of good maps so they could retcon a couple of them in to provide more variety. Just to tide people over until the new maps.

I had a great time with it for like 3 weeks, but all I want to play is big team battle and they need way more maps to keep it from getting stale. Also, probably wont come back till they get rid of crossplay.

Such a small list of minor additions...
Do we know anything about the campaign? It is all I am interested on: coop, level select, new levels and missions, different biomes, the Flood, vehicle tweaks, more marines and better ai and rhe pissibility to follow you as you grapple, enemy vs marines big battles, a scarab, fix the disappearing transports...

More maps and events would be nice. I've stopped playing the multiplayer completely by now, but would be happy to jump back in.

I stopped playing but for no other reason than cause I was busy. I loved Infinite. A better progression system would be nice I guess. It felt I was barely unlocking any content as I played.

Also where is that Warzone mode from Halo 5? That was so popular in H5, why the fuck wasn't that at launch? Because it's against AI and not PvP it appeals to a broader audience. Isn't a broader audience the point? Grow your userbase?

Bet there are some weaksauce bitches there complaining about why they need to work past 5:30pm. STFU and code, jigglet demands it.

My favorite GaaS managed to add a new game mode and revamp literally the entire endgame system in 4 months. And they're like 150 people working on the game. 343 needs to step up.

They need to get into make good mode until there are maps. Free battlepass is a start. Free anything they make is probably closer to what needs to happen...and I only say that because it's the only thing they are making, not because it's what I want.

They likely fired the temp workers who did all the work, or we are just seeing a team working at a 6 year dev cycle perform in real time. There is also a chance they don't have resources to fill out a store, battlepass, and make game updates and maps.

They probably realized within the last month that a battle royale needs to be the primary focus, or there will be no players and spending, and are positioning for a 6 month dev cycle for a holiday splash. If that fails, its onto the next title because they see its a dead game and the community is turned off. Forge and the community doing the work until it's out.

This looks like a weekly balancing and polish patch from other games... Not something that players needed to wait 6 months for.

When is 343 going to realize that FPS need WAY more maps than what they have. Especially a shame when Halo has the best catalog of maps of any FPS and they're just neglecting all of them, even the ones they made themselves

It's a shame they are blowing it with this game. 343 is not up to the task of managing this IP and MS is not up to the task of managing the studio and making any necessary changes.

It's been an embarrassment ever since MCC launched broken. Given how long they had to make Infinite, how much time would it have taken to release a fully complete game? At their pace, ten years?

The core game is good but give me a break. Every little thing they do is a big deal. I wish they spent as much time working on the game they spent making plans to do the work and typing massive blog posts about it.

Basically, everything they say I have no confidence in. I have no clue when forge or co op will arrive. When we think it's about to happen they will be like uhhh sorry we were busy making like 1 map and didn't have time to finish that feature but don't worry it's coming...at some point . They didn't even fix MCC until trying to hype Infinite.

It's bizarre to me that this is how MS's biggest IP and mascot character is handled. MS is the biggest software company in the world and their megaton game is fumbling like this. This is after a decade of having 343 doing Halo so there were opportunities to screw up and learn lessons to do it right this time. They certainly had enough time, too.

MS is doing something very, very wrong and refuse to change

Nice to see 343i still following there amazing knack of bad balancing

Weapons
  • A global melee damage decrease of 10% on all weapons will require the Mangler to land two shots and a beatdown for a kill.
They have specifically called out the Manger (because the one shot and melle was an issue in CQC maps) but instead of nerfing the guns damage (bad move so good they didn't do that) they instead nerfed melle for all weapons in the game... to resolve an issue with a single weapon, perhaps if they just... oh I don't know.... made the manger not do bonus melle damage (like all bladed weapons) rather than effectively nerf melle in all scenarios that would resolve the single issue they where trying to fix.

Now this will effect all CQC gun battles which prior to this had no issue around specific 1 2 combo's, will result In shotguns being less effective since you will need more pellets on target to be able to melle kill.

Good to see weapon spawns not being mirrored on some maps being fixed, that was just stupid.

Those stats just measure accuracy, right though? M&K players are expected to have an advantage in target aquisition time and ability to switch between different targets, due to the extra precision provided by a mouse. So even if controller players have an advantage when the reticule is in the region of an enemy player, if M&K players can get there faster, it could cancel this out.

I don't think the point of the post was to say that controller players don't currently have any advantages over M&K players, but that each control scheme gives different advantages, and therefore it is tricky to balance them.

Nope. Halo is all about strafing. It is so much harder to maintain accuracy on mnk Vs pad due to auto aim. The only advantages are turn speed and long range imo.

Still no co-op
no Forge
no firefight
no warzone
only 2 new maps.

What would this game have been if Joe Staten didn't come in to fix?
