So does NPD count walmart or not? (aka maybe 360 numbers aren't accurately reflected in NPD because Wal-Mart isn't tracked! That'd add like, what, at least 100,000!)
So when 360 doesn't fail in Japan
Is it true 360 sold 400,000 consoles day 1
Nerdy and possibly bad reasons why 360 is going to do better in Japan
Team Xbox getting a lot of mentions lately. 360 glitches?
Most people on forums lying about broke 360s?
Now that the 360 had been a Success
Top sellers by store and 360 begins its reign

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY VERY FEW PEOPLE TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY.

Please feel free to file a complaint when you feel a thread that is "bashing" the 360 is out of hand! I'm sure whatever you do send me will be total bullshit and worth laughing about, but be my guest!
THESE REPORTS ARE CONFLICTING WE NEED A MORE RELIABLE SOURCEjanuswon said:i have been to Shinjuku yesterday (Dec 10) about noon
i came across some chain store (e.g. biccamera, sakuraya) and found that xbox360 was not sold out
yesterday night (Dec 10) i went out to Ginza to do some shopping. I visited biccamera and sofmap (at Yurakucho) at around 08:30PM Japan time and found that they still had plenty of xbox360 on stock.
now is Dec 11 11:30AM Japan time, some chain store web sites still accept xbox360 online order. so xbox360 was not sold out in japan on the launch day (Dec 10)

It was a freaking sarcastic comment, dude. I actually take your word over some "other" reports.januswon said:you said you need a more reliable source
those large chain stores in japan still offer xbox360 even by online order right now (Dec 11 Japan time)
so xbox360 is still available in Japan on the 2nd day
and xbox360 was not sold out on the launch day (Dec 10 Japan time)
is this clear enough?
are the xbox360 online order web pages not reliable enough?

Well, the first shipment of Xbox 1 to Japan literally never sold out--lots of people bought Xboxes several years after the fact to find one with a pre-launch manufacture date.

To be honnest I don't think its possible for the 360 to do worse than Xbox 1 in Japan, mainly because of the increased support there. But then again some were speculating that the Gamecube would sell more than the N64 overall just because it had more 3rd party support, and we all know how that turned out.

heidern said:You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 doesn't even come close to matching the sales of the first one. Compared to the original the Japanese gaming industry has declined overall, the price a fair bit higher, the launch line up is worse and the reputation of the xbox brand must be pretty bad. I know they've got a fair few major investments, but even the original box had things like Genma Onimusha and Jet Set Radio 2 but none of them sold well. I know there's been a lot of game announcements, but those are still just promises and the games on the ground aren't even up to the original box. You would expect them to do better, everyone is, but I have some nagging doubts that this could be a real embarrasment.

909er said:I can totally see the same thing, but this time MS DOES have better Japanese support. Genma Onimusha was a late port of a PS2 game, and Jet Set Radio 2 was a sequel to a game that didn't sell great on a system that bombed.
This time MS has the creator of Final Fantasy working on 2 RPGs, one of which features Toriyama's art, and a fair bit of other support from Japanese companies that I see as superior to the originals. I don't think the 360 will do good by any means, but I can totally see it doubling the sales of the Xbox, as much as I can see it bombing.
xsarien said:It'd be an incredibly stupid move, seeing as how it would lock Sega's games to one platform.
associating Sega's name with the console that their games sell worse on ? Yup greatest idea everBrisal73 said:We know that Xbox 360 isn't going to be popular in Japan, but say if it was a 360 but MS reached an sgreement where Sega would put there name on it in Japan...do you think by name alone it would have sold more?
