3DS Streetpass Experiences

So, reading through this topic, it seems trying to force a StreetPass ends up in less hits than accidental Passes.
I wonder if Nintendo planned this...
Almost be definition, you'll get more accidental hits, because they aren't planned and you aren't expecting them. Success/failure of 'deliberate' streetpassing will be much more noticeable

lol long story short but streetpass has just helped me out with my sex life.

more info later tonight (or tomorrow :P)

If I don't stop finding cute girl miis, it might help with my divorce!

I'll just keep asking, eventually somebody will answer:

Does anybody know if there is a limit to StreetPass hits at a time? Or, has anybody ever had more than 10 at a time?

Edit:

Just got back from Wonder Con in San Francisco today. Had a total of 72 street pass exchanges on my 3DS.

On a side note. Each game has a max of 10 street pass trades. So once you get 10, you won't get anymore until you check them.

It was pretty cool though knowing there were all these people with a 3DS who were just walking by me unknowingly. I saw a few people playing with theirs and it made me wonder if I had their mii in my street pass.

Nevermind then!

Wandered around the room parties at Anime Detour last night. In between all the booze I got about 30 more Mii Street passes and about 10 Street Fighter figure fight passes. Even got a few 3DS sound hits.

I'm pretty sure you can only get 10 at a time, but I haven't reached that yet.

Yeah, I kept clearing it last night. The notification would say 8/10 so I assume after you hit 10 you have to play the games and clear the green dot before you can collect more.

Unfortunately, I learned of the 10 per session limit later in the day. :( I only ended up with 27 at Wondercon. I could have ended up with more had I checked my 3DS periodically. Well, at least I'm prepared for my next comic convention when I do attend one.

Just got back from shopping for most of the morning. Took my 3DS out of my pocket and was way to excited to see that green light flashing. I whip the screen open and jump in to mii plaza only to find out that I got a tag from the Best Buy demo unit. A hit is a hit I guess. :(

Wrote up my WonderCon StreetPass experience...

3DS StreetPass at WonderCon 2011

Got my ass handed to me in Street Fighter quite a few times, but completed two puzzles! Two shots of happy, one shot of sad?

I'm guessing my next big StreetPass win will be Free Comic Book Day and then E3 after that.

At least you have a hit.

Just got a hit when I went out to pick some food at the turkish, and that's just a 2 minute walk and back :D

10,000 steps today, through two parks, around the NYU campus, multiple subway rides. Not a single street pass. -_-

New York hates 3DS confirmed.

Try going to places with a potentially high geek ratio. I've got the most tags at FNAC, malls and videogames stores.

Yeah, ill try that this week. Today was just tagging along as the wife visited some places she wanted to see. The mall is a good idea. I'll stop by on my way home tomorrow, I have to buy socks anyways.

I feel dumb. I've had my 3DS with me all week hoping for a streetpass and I brought it to the university anime club (a guaranteed hit because I know people there have them) and got nothing. Turns out I never actually entered the Mii Plaza, so despite the fact that streetpass was on I had no software registered and therefore received no hits.

I would imagine this might have happened to others so make sure to do that. It doesn't work out of the box even though setup makes it seem that way.

So my gf came over for the weekend with her 3DS that I bought for her. Turns out streetpass has a cooldown of about 8ish hours with the same person. We went to the mall of america today in MN and I got a couple streetpasses with people other than her while she only got mine. Was kinda expecting her to tag the same people as I did but maybe we walked by those people so fast that they could only tag mine?

Yesterday I went to the Nintendo Store in the city and after about 25min, I had 40 street tags and 4 Ridge Racer ghost duels.

Then later on I went to the Distant Worlds concert in Brooklyn and I got another 14 street tags.

I think my 3DS will explode if I walk around E3 with it.

Went to Atlantic City over the weekend and got 3 tags over 2 days. Certainly a record for me! All my other tags are from GameStop..

Yeah, I spent 5 hours at the Bronx Zoo yesterday and got no hits. Probably not the right demographic there, though.

Small Norwegian town here. I've had the system since before launch, and have two Streetpass hits so far. Both from the same person! Oh well, at least he leveled up in Streetpass Quest and did more damage to the ghosts.

Ok, screw it, I'm walking over to the Nintendo store tomorrow at lunch. That has to be the Mecca of street pass hits. Fuck it, it's only a 5 minute walk from my apartment.

Went to Jay and Silent Bob Get Old Event in Orlando last Wednesday.

2 Street Fighter StreetPass battles
7 Mii StreetPass meetups.

Yeah, but keep this in mind, I went on a Saturday at like 3pm, which is probably why I got so many tags. I mean I had people show up on mine from PA, CT, MD, NJ, NY, and I think I even had someone on vacation from Colorado.

I am not sure how crowded the store will be on a Monday afternoon....

I think there are 20ish demo units there, and if they are all set up for Streetpass... Well I would consider that cheating personally :P

How does it differentiate between 3DS system street passes and actual software game ones? Does it read the game thats inserted into the system and then do the street passes for that game? Or something?

When you enable a StreetPass program, it stores data on the system itself.
Right now, I have 3DS Sound, SSF4 and MiiPlaza all set up for StreetPass trading.
You can have up to 12 programs enabled at any one time, and you just have to have the system in StreetPass mode for it to activate.

omg I got my first Street Pass

I totally knew i was going to get it though. I just passed my brother-in-laws 3DS

It doesn't, it'll store 10 games StreetPass data in the internal memory at once. This includes any cart game, MiiPlaza, and probably future 3DSWare games. You don't need the cart in the 3DS.

Well considering those units would have had to come preloaded with mii's on them, and then have street pass enabled, and then lock down the UI so that nobody can shut street pass off, or shut off the wireless, or change the mii in anyway, then I am pretty sure these are legit streetpass tags.
