Speaking of cars, if you drive by someone or pass them in your car, will a StreetPass take place? Or does the information exchange take longer, so only two people at a walking pace can StreetPass?

Surely it would depend on what/how many software have streetpass enabled? I imagine that some games would take longer than others (Nintendogs would probably take longer than Street Fighter for instance since it sends a 3D picture, which would be larger than the data sent by Street Fighter)
And of course, the more games that have streetpass enabled, the longer it would take to transfer all of them (maybe the 3DS does it 1 by 1 for each game, so some might not transfer in time but others will still make it over)

Nothing so far. I have a JP machine and it streetpasses with UK nintendogs and street fighter, and all the built in software. It directly translates all the language stuff, and has all the place names in Japanese in the JP machine (so I presume also has all the Japanese places in 'Romaji' on the UK machine).

I streetpassed another person yesterday, my third day in a row being downtown [Toronto].
This time, it was a person named "kkch" -- but instead of just getting his Mii, I got his Mii, fought in SFIV with the trophies and compared music lists.

I actually had the Kanye West album on the music application to see what the visualizer looked like in 3D. So you can upload about five of your "favourite" tracks for streetpass [they call it top picks].
After that you can go to two options. Compatibility and Hit Parade. Hit Parade says I found five new tracks and if you keep using StreetPass, they might appear in your Hit Parade.
Compatibility is just showing you how compatible your song list is with the person you StreetPassed. For mine, it was only 9% and it says we both like Music from the '10s. lol.
It's pretty neat, but I can't actually listen to the song on Hit Parade, but I can see the name of the artist -- Sky Ferreira.

That's a pretty cool feature. Unfortunately I don't think I can justify using my 3DS as a music player, but maybe I'll put a few CD's worth of songs on it just to check it out. I assume only a small portion of the base is using this feature though?Haziqonfire said:

I saw someone playing a 3DS yesterday and I went out of my way to pass by him hoping for a tag. I ended up with nothing. It's possible that he didn't have wireless on, I couldn't see the light one way or the other, but now I'm wondering if I didn't stay near him long enough.

I suspect they have reached their 10 visitor limit.
Same thing happened to the demo unit at the futureshop. I tagged it first sunday it was setup, I went back later in the week and did not get a tag.

EDIT: Checked my StreePass stuff, I figured I Pass'd with the GameStop drone but it was actually the girl he was talking to when we walked in! Woohoo my first lady StreetPass! And she had TONS of Picture Panels, I got a peice from the Mario and Bowser one.
