3DS Streetpass Experiences

Driving around just to get streetpasses seems a bit extreme, but I am lucky enough to get 15-40 passes a day just walking.

Personally, I use it as incentive for exercise. Plan a route on my bike based on the zones in my area (I actually have 5 within a 2 mile radius of my house). In my experience bike riding triggers more Play Coins than keeping it in a car too. But then if I'm out running errands with my sister, she been cool with stopping by a place for me to get tags.

Have you tried deactivating every other games' StreetPass features? It worked for me when I was having the same problem as you. AC has to share more information than the average game with each StreetPass, so the less games activated the bigger the chance of getting it to work if you're having trouble. I turned everything off except for the plaza and Mario Kart 7, and now I get a hit for AC every time. Try it if you haven't already done it. Hope it works.

I don't think there's any glitch related to filling the Showcase, by the way, or at least it hasn't happened to me or my brother.

This is pretty much the only thing I haven't tried. I will do it right now and report back this evening!
This doesn't appear to have worked. I have received 12 passes via relay since deleting all streetpass games except plaza and New Leaf. Only one of the passes had New Leaf as their most recent game, so there's a chance I was just unlucky this evening. But I'm going to London tomorrow, so I'll see how that goes.

After owning the additional 4 street pass games for around 7 months now, I can say getting the warriors way tickets is the most annoying thing. I have one or two tickets left for the the other three games, but I'm only at 16 for warriors way. fighting 300 monarchs is hella time consuming and i'm not even half way there.

has anyone here gotten all of the tickets yet?

Not yet. But it's only a matter of time. The 300 monarchs and all the puzzle boxes are gonna take the longest. Although I'm yet to find a plaza ticket in a gold chest, which is pretty annoying.

I stopped battling them for a while before realising what the ticket was for.

I'm never getting the Mansion puzzle boxes. Playing the game through a second time is too slow and dull.

How many boxes have you found? I'm at 29. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to improve my odds of unlocking the rest.

The hat shop continues teasing me with its non-rotating three remaining items. I just don't have time to do the stuff Mii Force wants T_T
Are those the last three tickets you need? Mii Force is the first (and currently only) game I have all the tickets for.

I got all of the tickets a while ago and Battle were by far the most annoying. 300 is just such an extreme number, the game becomes boring after about a 1/4 of that many battles.

It's definitely an incentive to move.

Activity Log says that I have made 3,660,665 steps in the 15 months I have been carrying the system in my bag.

I'm not sure. It has been months since I last played it.

When you street pass in sleep mode. Do you have to be playing the game to get said game benefits, or just have it in the system? Also, if you are playing the game in sleep mode, does game played time increase or stalled while in sleep mode?

Thanks for reminding me that there's a comic convention this upcoming weekend. I'm sorta thinking about hanging out there with my 3DS. Yes, I know it sounds weird, but... actually, I don't really have a legitimate explanation.

You have to have the game setup for Streetpass and then you do not have to specific game booted or in the system at all, it will record the Streetpass data for the next time you start the game.

I dont know about play time, but I would suspect it does not increase.

Niether, you just need that game under your streetpass management titles.
Time does not increase.

Can you have multiple games benefit from street pass at the same time or is it just one at a time?

There's a limit to how many concurrent StreetPass activations you can have at once, but it's in the neighborhood of at least 10.

Yep, only need two more tickets from Mii Force, which then gets me the ticket for getting every other ticket.

i haven't gotten the gold chest tickets either, but i got all of the other tickets though. i'm also like, 5 titles away from getting all the mii force tickets and two jobs away from finishing the flower town tickets. the "dude's wish" job can go screw itself lol.

Yeah. How exactly are you supposed to control how "short" a plant is?!

Fair enough. What I am really wondering here is if you are having a technical problem with your street passing that you are indirectly trying to address by asking these questions. If that is the case you would be better off just asking directly.
If not, there is certainly nothing wrong with curiosity. I myself have spent a lot of mental energy trying to figure this stuff out.
That person's statement is meaningless. Don't get hung up on it.
Again, if you are having a technical problem I can't really help you unless you state what it is directly.
I was having the same problem as the Reddit user: not getting any data for Bravely Default from relay stations. Deactivating the street pass functionality for the Mii Plaza solved the the problem and I am trying to understand why (the logic behind it).
Animal Crossing was also a victim of this glitch/bug/situation (although it was a long time ago), but it eventually resolved itself after some time.

I have found street pass to be somewhat imperfect in general. I have a second 3DS and I even have trouble passing with that every couple of months. My general advice is to clear out your street pass ques for all games and to restart the system. I don't know what is going on technically but this has always cleared up the issue for me.
Yup. Actually, I don't know the specific number for the rest of the titles (11 or 12) because I have never had to play with these settings.
No problem.
Same thing happens to me every now and then among several units (there are 5 3DS at home).
It's 12 titles, including the Mii Plaza.

Try deactivating the SP functionality of the Mii Plaza (you can do it from the Mii Plaza, no need to go to data management).

I don't know if I can bring myself to do that.

I really wish we could pass more than 10 people at a time, or at least be able to save them for use in games later.

I usually get a good amount of street passes and have to constantly play each game to get more. It's the reason I haven't purchased additional street pass games yet.

Raising the relay output to 6 plaza passes (including people from anywhere in the world) already kinda broke the progression.

I hit about 10 relays a day. Getting 60 plaza passes would be ridiculous.

Did you considered buying a rooted android phone yet ?
Haha I have the note 3, but it's not rooted.
Wow, your story is very similar to mine except the game that got me streetpassing was Pokemon Rumble Blast as I wanted to get all the Toys for having 150 people visit your in game store. I bought the 4 additional streetpass games too because I felt I was wasting the people I met if I just used them for puzzle swap and find mii. Lastly I also take the long way home to squeeze in another relay at either a nearby Mcdonalds or Starbucks. You are not alone with this addiction.
I've been wondering if there are others =) The desire for more hats really took over. I had been going through Find Mii 2 repeatedly and wondering where people were getting hats and outfits i had never seen before. Now I enjoy the additional mii plaza games. I like them all with perhaps flower town the least. And that's only because I have to listen to Mr. Mendel before I can get to letting guests come water my plants.

Holy shit. It worked! Thankyou!

Now I'm going to activate Plaza again and see if it continues. Boo at micromanaging street pass data though.
Interesting. And a new wrinkle of weirdness is added to the existing weirdness of street passing.

Anyone here have or know anyone who has completed all the Accomplishments?
Some of them I refuse to believe they have been beaten and people just guessed. I'm talking about the 20,000-100,000 Mii encounter ones. So say 3DS has been out for 1000 days (3 years is just over that), you would have to clear out the queue for Mii plaza 10 times each day since the 3DS came out.

Before the accomplishments updated, those 'tag x times' ones 'only' went upto 9,999 and I read that a couple of people managed to complete them all back then (including a gaffer actually who posted in this thread when he hit 10,000 passes) but nobodies ever said what happens or what you get when they're all complete.

Random anecdote:

I was in Atlantic City in January on a business trip and the hotel's wifi acted as a relay. I got passes every 8 hours from everyone in the hotel with an active 3DS.

I'd love to get stats from around the country because I have this weird feeling the Midwest just doesn't "do" street pass. I have two nephews with 3DSs and neither of them even care about street pass.

Is it a bug or the fact you can only have street pass enabled for a limited number of games at any time. I believe the limit is 10
Apparently a bug, there is no logic behind it. I am trying to understand why it happens, I would like to know the reason but there isn't a lot of info about it (and that's why I have been asking/posting so much here :P)
The limit is 12 titles, including the Mii Plaza.

YAY! Glad it worked and now you know. Hopefully it will fix itself [my Animal Crossing did, I don't remember how long it took because by that time I had stopped playing/caring for the game].
How are you planning to micromanage?

Well, I reactivated Plaza, and the AC passes stopped again. I'm pretty close to finishing Garden, so I might deactivate Plaza again in a few days' time, just to accumulate enough AC passes to unlock the achievement in-game. Then I'm done with worrying about it, I suppose. But the fact that the bug exists (and doesn't appear to effect many of us) bothers me.

I just did puzzle #50 in Monster Manor. Christ. I spent more than half an hour on it and then I just looked up a solution online. With smaller puzzles I usually just try to place the largest/strangest piece and then try variations of other placements around it. This one was too large for that though. I had no idea of what methodology to use. I was just randomly placing pieces. Ugh. At least that's one down towards that ticket.

Congrats. I gave up on 50 after a hour or something, but I was too lazy to look up the solution...

I think my record is 131 minutes. (Yes, I spent over two hours figuring it out myself. Not sure if that was worthwhile.)

No one completed all of them, because 10 Gold Pants Mii were not possible then.

53 Animal Crossing streetpasses 2 weeks ago, 54 last week. A positive trend.

...

I've almost finished the second run through Streetpass Battle but I have lost to the ninjas in the penultimate fight twice.

Yeah, this thread is just reconfirming for me that I will never do one of those puzzles again. Gamefaqs all the way.

The most sobering thing is that my count of completed puzzles is only at 30/50.

I am basically done with the Streetpass plaza. It has been a fun time-waster over the last few months but I essential don't care anymore. I hope they put more content out for it this year.

3 Plaza tickets left. Can you guess which ones?
300 Monarchs, All squad/force titles, land your first critical strike

Of course you got at least one right. All gems was the one I just got, finally finishing the 4th one on 3-3 (guess what, its a kill two enemies at once one...I used red flames for their continuous rate of fire).

Shame that leaves 2 games as a grind (I'm not even halfway through one of those grinds) and two for fun. Oh but thats only 4? Oh yeah I finished puzzle swap again and Streetpass Quest has several more runs of the secret quest, buying 2 level 7s, two mercenaries and using the summoning potion (to bring back the level 7s) burns through playcoins. Until you run into a hazard room or stupid curses.

I talk to people that I've streetpassed on the train ride to work all the time. From there we chat about our games or even continue to battle Pokemon online. College campuses have a lot of action there, though I haven't been on one in a while. Going to events like GDC and IndieCade or big fighting game tournaments is TOOO rich with street pass. You can spend all day playing.

So between a low count normally and super counts at events, I get a nice balance of street passing.

I have 3 tickets left too. 300 monarchs, and then 2 from Mansion: All weapons and all puzzle boxes. I'm at 31 boxes and 39 weapons. Both are very annoying.
