3DS Streetpass Experiences

Yoshi puzzle complete!
Looking at it, I can see how the art style of the actual game may look like less of an abomination on the 3DS screen.

Roll on the Kirby puzzle.
and the Brain Training one!

I tried it out in a Gamestop yesterday and I actually enjoyed the visual presentation quite a bit. If only I had time for another game...

This can't be true. I get 6 passes religiously, every 8 hours, from my own pub, which is in the middle of nowhere. There is no way that many people with 3DSs pass by here in that time.

Yeah, this is how it was before. I got into the habit of going into the McDonalds a block a way to get coffee and StreetPasses (if I'm honest -- it's the StreetPasses). Six SteetPasses, every time, like clockwork, for months. Now, four. I'll try out some other Nintendo Zones, but I'm disappointed that the one I can walk to is apparently gimped.

I think they changed it at some point to draft in Miis from anywhere to make up the numbers if the relay has less than 6 actual people.

I definitely get 6 every day from the initial relay.

I went to my local McDonald's this morning and I got 1. 1.

Haha, lol.

Went to McDonalds this morning and out to Best Buy and then to the grocery store. Only received five streetpasses. I figured I would hardly receive any today! I wasn't gone long. Sat at McDonalds for about thirty, maybe fourty minutes.

EDIT: the most streetpasses I have ever received in a day I think was 10, does it cap out and then you have to go in and clear them out for mii plaza?

You can load-up the plaza and leave it at the gate where you meet the Miis in order to be able to collect another 10.

But those two sets of 10 are the maximum before you need to do anything.

Sweet. Thanks for the reply!
Slowly, I'll get the hang of this!

Is there any plan about raising the daily play coin cap to over 10? I rarely walk that little. Usually get about 4000 steps a day.

Also how do I make new panels appear on my friend's 3ds? He only has panels up to New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Like when he street passes me he can't even see the other panels he hasn't started as "???"

There's no plan that I know of, but I agree with the sentiment -- as another guy who likes to walk a lot, that would be rad.

Also, I got two StreetPasses at the DMV. Which basically means I participated in the best thing that has ever happened at a DMV.

I got all the Battle Plaza Tickets. Finally I can put that game to bed.

I need one more Mansion ticket, but I only have 18 puzzles solved and I can't be bothered to chase them all.

3 more Garden tickets. 7 more Squad tickets lol.

all puzzle pieces collected, close to beating Warrior's Way for the first time (two countries left to conquer, have over 2 million soldiers)

In beating down monarchs for battle I encountered an army with each squad at just over 100,000. In other words the perfect opportunity for to try and get a critical strike. Which I succeeded in.

So tickets left. All titles in Squad, 300 monarchs...that is so sparta to get.

Maybe I should start to buy more stuff, I have like 38 tickets.

Yoshi puzzle is done.

Now it is nothing but Streetpass Garden. Morning, Noon, and Night. Until I get that final flower.

ended up buying all the games for the deal but Im only working on the garden one and the rock paper sciscors one

It's pretty depressing opening the plaza and playing only Garden.

Two times a day.

Every day.

Still, at least I reached 200 plants.

I'm pleased I still have 5 puzzle pieces, 17 secret quest playthroughs (level 1s are sometimes completely useless for this, even when paired, what do relays give you...level 1s *sigh*), 30 Squad titles and 170 monarchs along with the 11 plants...be interesting to see what wins first in that race.

That reminds me of the very last ticket I needed, it was for the Garden job where you have to grow a short plant.

Oh boy!

I'm disappointed the Smash direct didn't talk about Streetpass features but I'm hoping Sakurai is cooking up something cool..... or at least cooler than Kid Icarus' gems.

I do hereby declare that my primary goal for this weekend's PAX EAST is to complete Puzzle Swap. I'm at 274/1049... looking kind of bleak.

My plan is to go from right to left; the earlier puzzles are easier to get so I can work on that back home if I don't make it. I'll get the harder ones while at PAX.

I try not to use Play Coins because getting duplicates is a scam. I might go through all of mine now to give me a leg up for the weekend, though.

Any tips for you guys doing well in Flower Town on growing the last few plants? Sitting at nearly 70 now. Luckily I have most of the rare breeds, but I seem to be caught in a vicious cycle of <30% new breed seeds.

Max Level increase seems totally random.

In my experience, the ingredients didn't seem to matter much. Like a Level 10 weapon with a max Level of 12 didn't seem to increase my weapon's Level compared to one with worse stats.

Another thing, it's possible Level increases are conserved to some degree. Like you might get a rubbish +1 Level on your first upgrade and then a massive +10 on the final upgrade.

Either way, I spent ages resetting for levels, until I finally stuck with a Dragon Destroyer +2 with a max Level of 30. Kind of forget it's starting level... 18 or something?
It's not random I think, you can't just look at the level, you have to look at the grade (S, A, B, C, D, etc.) as well. You can get a grade B level 12 gun and it'll give you less materials and cost less than a comparable gun at grade A.

I'm hoping for something interesting, but after Pokemon dropped the ball, I'm not taking anything for granted.

Lots of Streetpass integration would have been a good way to differentiate the 3DS version from the Wii U game, but it seems like they're attempting to do that with exclusive modes like that dungeon run thing.

If you sit in the handheld lounge areas for an hour or two each day and do nothing but working through your StreetPass queues you'll finish all the puzzles no problem.

To anyone concerned, my Monster Manor plan to get a perfect "Windkeeper's Fury" ended up working out.

After a week of patience I finally got the red 5-square U-shaped piece I was waiting for and I was able to reap the benefit area I had sowed on level 48. I got ~7 gold chests which yielded 2 high level "Windkeeper's Fury"s. I was able to combine them with those already in my possession to create an S-Rank Level-3-Skill (Recovery) Max-Level 30 "Windkeeper's Fury". It was only level 25 at the time but it was easy enough to get it to level 30 from there.

Has anyone tried to make a fully-maxed level 30 weapon? If so, I am curious to know which weapon you chose and what skill.

I was able to fully complete Puzzle Swap at NYCC last fall. The Pokemon puzzle was released durring the show and I was able to fully complete it by show's end.

To be totally honest, in hindsight I regret the amount of time I spend on my 3DS over that weekend. Even though I generally only touched it while I was waiting in various lines, I still feel like my 3DS consumed too much of my mental energy. Oh well.

It's been a while since they pushed out a celeb Mii at a Nintendo Zone, eh?

Not that I have much to do anymore except gather puzzle pieces, but I thought of it during my Starbucks run this morning.

Also, they need to update their Nintendo Zone list to include Google Starbucks WiFi IDs.

Either he needs to complete a few more puzzles or needs to update the firmware.

Just using in-game knowledge. Look at the plant book. In the plants you are missing do not say ??? they will have a seed shape. Compare the silhouettes to the silhouettes of the candidate seeds you have left. If the silhouettes and seed shapes match, hire 1 Mii and see how it grows (if it looks different to the other possibilities, hopefully at that point you can tell if it will grow into what you need). Otherwise, sell the plant as the %s are lies, seed shape has to match for them to matter (at least I've never had a plant grow from the wrong seed shape).

I'm not good enough to work out how to pollinate effectively but from what I understand the colour wheel is important (all the bits highlighted are colours the plant could grow into, the plant must be able to grow into one of those colours for it to be a possible breed from the seed you get form pollinating). There is other stuff like how your plant and the pollinators plant dictate breeds too (I think it is alway your shape and family but rainbows and butterflies can change family).

So this happened today.....

I use Streetpass way too much -_-

Not bad for just under two years in England!
I just have one flower colour to get in Garden and then I'm officially done with everything :'(

Missed this one. This is really simples:
Insert an SD card
Enable spotpass for Mii Plaza
Connect to internet

Puzzles after NSMBW are extra data so stored on the SD card.

Congratulations.

Pray for a new batch of streetpass plaza games.

Edit: Cats forever.

Those percentages are the least important part of figuring out what a plant will grow into. As Starwolf_UK stated, look at seed shapes. When looking at the color wheel when you get a seed, the color of the particles that coalesce around the flower is the color the seed is most likely to grow into.

But, on considering percentages, don't throw out seeds with a low percentage. Grow that seed and collect it's offspring seeds, even if they have low percentages for the plant you want as well, what I've found is that if you see the silhouette of the plant you want in two or three generations of seeds you will get that plant from that line. I believe (but cannot say with surety) that I even got a flower from a mismatched seed shape from a third generation low percentage seed. Usually you don't have to wait more than 3 generations to get the plant you're after.

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball puzzle came in through SpotPass just now. That kicks me down to ~23.9% completion with my puzzle pieces.

I get maybe 10 StreetPasses a week, plus about another 10-20 pieces by shaving off my coins if I'm over 290, so I I'm moving at a decent clip (got my 3DS over the holidays). Summer break will be here in a month though, so that will REALLY cut down on my Passing.

I'm thinking of waiting until Fall before I get the Mii Plaza games due to this.

Prefered Pet? Bunnies of course...I guess they're sales people rather than pets though.

I don't suppose there was a Pocket Football puzzle?
:(

No Tomodachi either. I find it weird how that and Mii plaza have yet to have puzzles. Judging by the queue limit thing it makes me wonder if having more games shot us in the foot as far as overall puzzles go and if now they will try to go for more worldwide games.

This has a list of all the puzzles in all the regions.

The only ones exclusives to Japan are ANAでDS (an airport simulator only released in Japan), a McDonalds Big Mac (part of a promotion), the Japanese version of Rusty's Real Deal Baseball (Rusty looks different in Japan, hence they're different puzzles by region), Kirby's Triple Deluxe and Monster Hunter 4 (I imagine these two we'll get eventually).
