3DS Streetpass Experiences

Right when I finish Rusty's Real Deal Baseball puzzle, Nintendo drops the Kirby: Triple Deluxe puzzle. Sigh...

Speak of the devil.
Just got my piece. One of these days I'll start with a pink piece and make my Streetpassing easier.

All that's left for Japan exclusives is MonHun 4 which we'll likely get next year when it comes out here.

Technicallyyyyyy the Rusty puzzle is a NA/EU exclusive and the Darumeshi Sports Shop is a JP exclusive. It's going to be literally impossible for me to finish the Darumeshi puzzle on the JP 3DS since the two are distinct puzzles... unless I visit Japan.

Not sure if posted already, but I just checked Nintendo's Nintendo Zone Map, and it looks like all Burger Kings are official zones now. Will try it when I get a chance.
I can confirm that my local one isn't. I went twice this week and no green light.

The second time I checked the list of wifi routers from my phone and "attwifi" is not one of them. Oh well. I'll check back in a few weeks.

Got a streetpass today and the person had very few puzzles but did have a pink piece from the Rusty puzzle. Only need 3 more on that one and 2 more on Chibi Robo. The rest are a wasteland. I need to just bite the bullet and go out every week to relay locations.

I've had 4 streetpasses inside my house now. At least I know they're real people and not relays. But stay away from my windows.

I'm debating on if I want to do relaying over the summer. Aside from school, it'll be really tough for me to get any pieces short of driving 15 miles out to the city.

I'm in Seoul for golden week, brought my 3DS so that I could add some people from here, there is no one with a 3DS. The only Surechigai (not sure what it is called in English) was a girl from Ibaraki. Crazy, I knew there weren't many handhelds here, but I didn't know it was this low.

No Mario Golf puzzle yet? Booo. Even Mario Tennis Open got one, and before the game was even released if I'm not mistaken.
Speaking from the US, we have gotten one a month since January, so maybe check again in June.

January: Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder
February: Super Mario 3D World
March: Yoshi's New Island
April: Rusty's Real Deal Baseball
May: Kirby: Triple Deluxe
June: ???

Nintendo's 2014 release list is looking pretty sparse, so maybe they will continue to spread out puzzles for games that have already been released as Nintendo tries to stretch their sales windows. I'm still holding out hope for Link Between Worlds and maybe we'll see titles like Mario Golf as well.

I get a lot when at the airport or driving long distances and hitting the pit stops.
I get a lot when I'm traveling as well. Airports are always good and I always make sure to carry my 3DS into service stations with me when I'm on the road. You don't always get results, but I have had a number of surprise 6-10/10s hauls at road stops. Related to this, I have occasionally hit unexpected relays in these locations (airports & road stops).

This is what I use my pedometer for. I live within walking distance of a Starbucks, so I often make a trip down there, sit at one of their exterior tables until I get a hit, and leave. Or, since there is a video game shop next door within wifi range, I'll browse around in there.

I think between McDonald's, Starbucks, and Burger King, most in America should be within walking distance of a relay. I try to get at least 5,000 steps a day, and the relays have really helped with this. Don't ever tell me video games did nothing for you health...

"Japanese Cultural Products" were also illegal to import and sell there until recently, and I'm sure the government now give no incentive to Japanese companies, so Nintendo may not have the network to advertise and have products distributed in Korea. Then, there may be other social and cultural issues with things that come from a Japanese company, so I don't think it's too surprising.

I thought this was known already, but Starbucks are slowly switching all their locations from AT&T to Google Wi-Fi. Most of the locations around me have already switched and therefore are no longer Streetpass relays.

tend to get lots of notifications when i hang out with my friends in those gameish parties. I'm pretty glad with the streetpass feature.

Recently found out that I couldn't get more than 10 passes while on standby. Any way to tweak that? :)
Not without leaving standby. The best you can do without running through the queue is simply going to the gate, which empties the incoming queue - you'll begin receiving new Streetpasses as soon as you see the plaza gate. You can use the notifications list to check how many you have in your queue.

I went to a Starbucks the other day with AT&T wifi, I thought I got passes. I'll have to check there again.

Losses in 1-1, 1-3, 5-2 (three lost to the boss because it liked to just crash into me) and one at the final boss. Only one plaza ticket to go, have to grind out all the reputations.

Nice!

I just got my final Monster Manor ticket yesterday (solve all puzzle boxes).

I now have two to go, both in Warrior's Way: 'Offer kind greetings to monarchs 100 times' and 'Battle monarchs from afar 300 times'. These two are going to take me until the end of time.

Oh well. At this point I'm going to stop playing the other 'new' plaza games (so much for getting all the flowers). I've sunk enough hours into this already. I have a few Find Mii Secret Quest hats left and I will certainly continue to collect puzzle pieces. I'll just keep chipping away at WW and I should be able to complete it eventually.

I'm amazed that so many of you have completed the Warrior's Way tickets. That title's tickets specifically require street passes with people that own it and that just don't encounter many such people.

That's pretty good going. I ended up farming light green miis from the street pass lists to get the weapons I needed as you don't get very many miis during the full run.

I just recently bought 'Monster Manor' and 'Flower Town'.
Monster Manor is so incredibly addicting! I'm finally collecting plaza tickets. Redeemed it for a cute bridal veil one day and then saw the T-Rex hat the next. So got so fast.
I completed one more puzzle panel. Still have 700 pieces to go.
Haven't received many street passes down in Florida. I get a ton more while in Chicago.
Hope to have better luck the next time I go out!

Well done. I think my arcade team was mostly dogs and bought a few specifics to ensure useful powers (lime green in general, orange for bosses as long range and good damage makes it safe, black for 2-3), I wrote about it earlier in the thread.

Yeah reputations. I've still got like 30 to get...then 150 monarchs. Didn't help I blew my one chance at monarchs last week, a Nintendo zone by leaving the wireless off on my system.

Then there is at least I think 6 secret quests, I've never visited the bottom route so that is IIRC 3 and the other routes all need 3 visits each. I'm trying not to spend coins as currently I'm early as all that happens is I blow coins, get fairly late then streetpassed/Nintendo zone Miis can't do anything as they're level 1.

Just recently took my 3DS to Disneyland. My God. The GF and I had a blast. Lines felt super short because of the non-stop barrage of Street passes and always having to play your games and make room for another 10. Definitely recommend.

Damn, congratulations man, that's great.

I'm planning a month long study abroad trip to South Korea, and I was curious about whether or not the 3DS has much of a presence there. Can I expect some passing?

KABOOM!

Finally! There was a time I thought that I could never achieve this, but God bless relays.

I have plenty left to do in StreetPass Garden, but for now, I'm taking Plaza out of my StreetPass games so that I can receive Animal Crossing passes again. It'll be interesting to see if I get more than 3 at a time from relays.

Thanks - sorry for being late with this.

I've been trying to get 2 breeds for what feels like forever. I've stopped caring.
I'm stuck with two left as well.

I sort of wonder if there are conditions you have to fulfill before you get them, like completing all of the jobs or even getting gold on all of the jobs. I still have one left, one of the "tall plant" ones.

I don't think it is anything like that but rather you get 3 possibilities at most per seed and I think each seed is dictated by parents (offspring from same family) and the colour wheel (offspring will grow into one of those) and as you have more complete the chance of finding something you have not encountered before becomes remote. Not sure how shapes are determined in creation but they're just as important in the growing stage.

All I can think is try being tactical about those elements to maxamise your chances (grow specific breeds in specific colours) especially the colour part (remember shop bought is fixed colour and colours can be rigged with Miis). Some flowers can only grow into a single colour (all phantom and a few non-phantom).

I have about 10 breeds to go myself.

If you know one of the people you streetpass, and they have a breed you're lacking, you can ask them to carry it. Should help chances.
Thanks for this.

I might return to get my final 2 eventually.

I still kind of want to gold all of the jobs. That task at least has structure.

Just got the Kirby puzzle here in the UK.
Had to open the plaza to get the spotpass to happen. My first 50 coins spent were pretty bad luck (14/40) but the next 60 kind of levelled off so 27/40. Hopefully the Japanese pass I got from the Nintendo Zone this morning has something as I know the rest won't.

I actually came in to post this. My local Starbucks now won't offer Streetpasses and the official Nintendo Zone map still says they're zones. Oh well, I still have several places within a mile radius. 2 McDonalds, Home Depot, Burger King, and apparently the Hampton Inn in my town is a relay now. Still need to check it out.

That's weird I got Streetpass tags from Starbucks a week ago last Fri, guess they're just not caught up yet, What worries me is both the McDs and the Barnes and Noble where I get the majority of my tags from haven't worked the last few days, hope something similar isn't happening with them. Anyways, Nintendo needs to fix this and get around the AT&T/carrier switch stupidity. I depend on NZ for 99% of my tags now.

Looks like Starbucks in my area have switched over :(

The past 2 days I haven't been getting any relays there and I thought my settings had messed up.

Thanks to this thread, I now know why. So much for my daily routine :(

Huh, when I went around town the other day NONE of mine seemed to work either. Maybe some kind of system maintenance on Nintendo's end? I had my smart phone with me and I could still see attwifi on the list of available networks.

You will have an easier time getting your missing breeds than getting gold on the jobs.

Short/tall mechanics *shudder*
