3DS Streetpass Experiences

Holy crap, found Reggie.
(it was a Nintendo Wi-Fi zone but damn, so sparkly)

It was also the first time I beat Find Mii. Reggie even dealt the final blow, he was a ridiculous level 5 hero. Haha, what a way to finish it.

Came back from Taiwan, got no Taiwanese Streetpasses, they were all from Japan (and one from Hong Kong) haha.

Over the weekend I tried out some Starbucks locations that had stopped working, and they're working again. Can anybody else see if stores near them that made the switch are working once more?

Especially since no one gives you one because they rush through the greeting process. >:T
For me it's usually that I don't like the way the Mii looks, but I guess I can't speak for other people.

How grindy are the purchasable streetpass games? Reading reviews of the 4, the flower game definitely seems the least appealing to me.
You have to grind, but not really in the way you do for other games. You'll play each game for about five minutes or less per session, and usually not more than 3 sessions per day, but fewer if you just don't want to play. The grinding is more rewarding than in other games, because you're constantly making actual progress towards the games' goals, not leveling up or trying to get items or whatever you need to reach the goals. Flower Town/Garden is actually the game that is the most fun, and so far the games that I've finished have lasted just long enough that the gameplay might have been waning, but they were still fun to the end.

I send Fantastic ratings whenever given the option. If you want more Fantastic ratings from people you meet multiple times, make sure you keep changing your outfit.

I would recommend buying them all and then just skipping some of them at different times if you aren't in the mood to play them. It's better to have the option. Sometimes you will want to spend an hour playing all of them at once, sometimes you will have to spend 5 minutes merely checking your puzzle pieces[...]

Don't let it become a chore, just play them when you are in the mood. These are games after all.

Just wanted to quote this as it's good advice for those wondering about the extra plaza games.

Went to Home Depot and decided to bring my 3DS this time. Recieved ten streetpasses as I walked in. Guess I'll be accompanying hubs to Home Depot now (even though it puts me to sleep walking through that place!)
Steadily moving along with my puzzle pieces. Have 401/1113. Still a long way to go lol.
Trudging through flower town, don't enjoy it as much as monster manor. I am addicted to monster manor, I can't wait to piece together floor pieces. I'm only on the 6th floor so far and have 12 out of 20 flower types grown. Haven't even started on the flower colors!
Nonetheless, I truly enjoy streetpass and I am still go out regularly to collect what I can!

Why is it these special Miis downloaded don't own any of the purchased games? It is lame when a game could benefit off of them owning the game, but none do. It is like they don't support their own games.

What? All the Special Miis have unique effects in every plaza game.

In Puzzle Swap, they generally have every puzzle piece from every puzzle that was available at the time they were sent.
In Find Mii and Find Mii 2 they are level 5.
In Mii Force you get an option gun (aims in the opposite direction you move) for each Special Mii currently attached.
In Flower Town they carry a rare breed.
In Monster Manor they offer the maximum 5 floor pieces. They automatically give a gift upon taking a floor piece. They are also equipped to team up/give an item if you encounter them within a created room.
In Warrior's Way they award a fixed number of soldiers larger than normally possible - 10,000.

Yes, but when someone owns the game there are more benefits (except Mii Force other than scoreboard):
-Flower Town: View their garden
-Warrior's Way: Can fight them
-Monstor Manner: Can team up/get puzzle box.

None of these downloaded characters own the game (indicated by jumping up and down on the character), so I can't fight them, view their gardens, or team up with them.

They don't jump, but they don't animate normally either. They wave at you.

I also just literally stated you -can- team up in Monster Manor. I don't think you can get a puzzle box though, but they carry endgame level equipment so declining a teamup is probably the way to go anyway.

I'm not sure why there is room for complaint. They offer benefits far beyond what is normally possible.

Also, not sure if they give a rare breed. Reggie gave me a 100% New Breed plant, but I don't think it's a rare breed. I thought I had them all. I'll find out in a few days when it blooms.

I actually wonder if there's more to it than that. Fils-a-mech was carrying a rare breed, gave both butterfly and rainbow, the color wheel was full, and the resulting seed was a 100%. Sample size for this is still too small to chalk all this up to more than coincidence. =/ Hopefully we are actually getting a flood of Special Miis for E3 again, would love to get to the bottom of that.

Don't special Miis only come around once in a blue moon anyway?

Although perhaps there was a period of regular special ones. Last e3?

Over the weekend I tried out some Starbucks locations that had stopped working, and they're working again. Can anybody else see if stores near them that made the switch are working once more?

Interesting info, I had a reliable Starbucks that gave me streetpasses everytime I passed by but within the past month, nothing. I last tried last week so hopefully streetpasses are back at this starbucks.

Dear people at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. I need 12 more monarchs. GIVE THEM TO ME.

Seriously need more people who have bought the game lol.

Sorry of this has been asked before but why do some Miis that I meet a lot of times ask me what I think of them while others don't? Is there something they need to do so I can be asked for a rating?

There is apparently a way to skip the gate entirely by pressing the power button at the right time during loading.

Met more than once. If they change their hat after the last time you gave them a rating you can re-rate them.

You've met them more than once, or they've changed the color of the shirt or changed their hat since the last time that they asked you.

now the real challenge starts!

GET EVERY PLANT IN EVERY COLOR!

That's not a challenge at all compared to actually finding a plant you haven't grown. It's really a matter of time rather than a matter of luck.

The hardest part would be to find people with rare colors, but usually there are ways to work around that anyways.

The Starbucks that I mentioned stopped giving me streetpasses in the past month gave me 3 today. Hopefully it's not just a coincidence and they are fixing up their relays.

This is good news. Can anyone give a second confirmation?

Using play coins for puzzle pieces is a crock of shit. Out of 31 coins, 8 were dupes. No way I hit a 1 in 1000 chance 8 times. (I'm missing 1000 pieces.)

I was so pumped to get the Reggie streetpass last week only to have him get scared off by a mummy in Find Mii 2. Damn. It seems like that shouldn't happen.

Also this is my first post on here! Yay. Or nay if you think it sucked.

Seems to just be a cosmetic thing. No functional difference.
I was disappointed when I found it had no practical purpose, but it does look a lot nicer. Does anyone know if people that you tag with streetpass see the special can when you water their plants?

Just recently got Flower Town. This game is really pleasant and really addictive. I love the gardening. Creating new breeds or new flowers color mutations.

Yes! I finally have all of the hats from Find Mii 2's Secret Quest.

For some reason I had given up on it when it was first released and I only revisited it once the other street pass games came out. 10 play-throughs. Damn.

Now I just need the last two tickets in Warriors Way (greet 100 peacefully and battle 300) which will take me until the end of time and 30 puzzle pieces spread between Yoshi and Kirby.

I typically try to keep a reserve of coins but, with only Puzzle left, it was very fun to burn through all of my coins on puzzle pieces this morning.

I fully expect that Nintendo will release a new puzzle in June in keeping with their 2014 pace and I would like to be relatively done with these two by then.

I've had my 3DS XL for a couple of years and just recently discovered StreetPass. I mean, I noticed it before but never paid attention to it until this past weekend. Now, I'm trying to get more passes. My oldest daughter brought her 3DS to NYC on our recent vacation so she has lots of them.

I will start bringing mine everywhere to see if I can get randoms out in the wild or at work/mall.
I noticed there are some nearby Nintendo Zone places. I wonder if I can access them from the parking lot? I mean, I really have no reason to go into a McD so it would be nice to stop by one on my way home from work and just get a few without going inside the building.

Googling around, I noticed that there are some websites that document how to setup your own Nintendo Zone. Has anyone tried this?

It looks like I'm going to be able to attend one of the Smash demo events. It looks like I might be able to get those last two Warrior's Way tickets after all.

Ha, I ran into Fils-Aime today! I wonder where it was, wasn't out for too long.

Edit: Never mind it's SpotPass, how's that work again?

Probably how it works is that you can only get random pieces in puzzles which you already have one or more pieces of. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody.

So, after 7 days, I did not get the "First Streetpass Tag in a While" accomplishment, nor after 15 days. So I waited a whole month, 31 days, plus one more day, so 32 days. I got the "First Streetpass Tag in AGES" one then, as well as the first in a while.

You can't stop in the parking lot of McDonald's, it will show you a Nintendo Zone, but won't give you the passes until you have a strong connection. McDonald's also seems to have them on a timer, you get 2, then 2 more a few minutes later, and then finally 2 more.

I go to Starbucks usually, because there's a place to sit outside at most of them, so you don't have to go in if all you want are some passes. Haven't tried Burger King, so I don't know what that's like.

Aw crap, I think I screwed myself up on Monster Manor :( (Slightly on topic, but kinda worried...)

I got more street passes today to help finish Floor 14, and attempted the mummy ghost for a second time, but with a new strategy... Then I look up online later on and see that he's weak to fire and I think my gun is electric... But I used up almost all the pieces in the area and I think I might have a fire gun in my inventory... Is there actually a way to get back to an inventory orb without having to stumble across them through pieces? I think there was another floor that I didn't finish and might be able to get there, but I'm worried that I screwed myself over with the game :/

Any help appreciated...

Today I went with the family to Seaworld in San Antonio and brought my 2DS with me. I was hoping for a surge of brave souls like myself to being along their handhelds as well. Wound up with only 9 but one in particularly was a pleasant surprise: a visitor from Japan. His game of choice?

Also could have been someone who imported a Japanese 3DS ;s

You can reuse an existing orb if you expand a room that contains one. If that isn't possible, the boss should still be doable; it'll just take a very long time.

I actually managed to tag someone from Puerto Rico the other day. Didn't think I'd ever get that one.

Currently need 11 more states to fill the US map. I wonder when that will happen...
