3DS Streetpass Experiences

I set up HomePass on my Mac like this and it works. Let me find the youtube video I used to set it up.

EDIT: This is the YouTube video that helped me set it up

Thanks for this, and also thanks to you, n64coder.

after watching the video, and re-reading the first post in that thread, it seems that my MAC is not changing when I run the command to change the MAC. It asks for the admin pw, which it accepts, but when I do the "grep" command, it shows the original MAC, and not the spoofed. So, it looks like I might have a different issue.

thanks again for the help!

I had 18 passes today, 15 of them were playing Pokemon games!

Ruby: 7
Sapphire: 5
Y: 3
X: :(

Yeah, I noticed that Pokemon is very popular. I think the second most popular would be Smash Bros. I haven't seen Fantasy Life much in a while but it was very popular a couple of months ago.

I think this is one of the best things about StreetPass is that you get to see what others are playing.

Does anyone have advice for the Mii Force 4-1 board to get the second & third jewels? I defeated the five snails so I'm able to travel up. I see the second jewel but it seems that the current moves too fast for me to go down and to the right to get the jewel. Any thoughts on how to do this?
You might not need light green for the second Gem but you definitely need it for the third (as it is in the rocks, I think I once got it using purple to blast the prism then it moved towards me...). Consider hiring a light green Mii and hope that they turn up early enough in the stage to help. IIRC on the second one you can stand outside of the current (it has been a while though).

Also remember for each squad you have 3 lives so consider suiciding during an auto scrolling bit if you miss one of those.

I've definitely done this a bunch times, especially trying for the no pods lost achievement.
Thanks for the tip. I guess I'll have to consider doing the hiring more often. I usually just take what I get in terms of colors.

I finally met my 300th distant warrior in Warrior's Way. I have all plaza tickets in every Streetpass game now. All the hats too! It only took a year and 4 months!

I'm still thinking about getting all the colours in Flower Town, but it's extremely tedious. I'll just do it casually until I get bored. I have done everything possible in all the other games except for the hard arcade mode in Mii Force. That's something I would never touch with a 10-feet pole; the normal one was horrible enough.

Nintendo doing another event at select Best Buy stores this Sunday

Need something that’s fun for the whole family this weekend while you’re checking gifts off your holiday wish list?

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. locally on Sunday, Dec. 7, you’re invited to Nintendo Family Game Demo Day at more than 100 Best Buy stores nationwide.

Nintendo Family Demo ArtPlay Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS, explore Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on Wii U or try out Pokemon Art Academy on 3DS.

And if you are lucky enough to live near our Culver City store in Los Angeles, you can try and snag a photo-op with Super Mario.

Yes, that Super Mario — the bona fide one with the overalls and a perfectly manicured mustache. Oh, and KittiesMama will be on the scene, too!

Not only will you and your family be able to play some of the hottest games out right now (that just so happen to also be E-rated titles), but those who stop by Best Buy also get some sweet special deals.

This is my last ticket too.

Based on your wording it sounds it counts every Monarch you've met? I was worried that you had to have fought 300. If it counts Monarch's I've greeted peacefully as well, then that means I only have like 80 left to encounter. lol.

At least there are new puzzles currently. I had totally stopped checking my queue when I only had Warrior's Way to do.

I'm sorry but you have to fight them. Peaceful greeting is a separate ticket.

Make sure you build up your castle at every opportunity you get because at the 20th level (maximum?), you get unlimited spying which makes battling monarchs easier.

Awesome and even more since I'm at level 19!
Need only that and fighting those 300 monarchs.

I'm nearly finished with Mii Patrol (1 ticket left).

I have 64 of 80 flowers but now it progresses really slow.

Castle game is going forward slowly as well. I'm completing every floor 100%. Is this even necessary or somehow rewarded?
I only need the vouchers from the gold chests, but it's hard with a lot of small rooms on higher floors.

Thanks, but I'm all set on that front. Again, this is my last ticket. I'm at level 20 with 9,999,999 troops. My only limitation is the number of people I've encountered who actually own the game. For every 10 street passes I get, the number for Warriors Way is usually 1-2.

No, you're actually encouraged to do the opposite. You get gold chests from large rooms. Completing a map to 100% doesn't give you anything.

My general strategy was to use random pieces on my current top floor to try to clear it, and then use more deliberate placements in the open sections left on floors that I had already cleared.

Gold chests come from creating a large opening in one go, so what you really need to do is optimize the large openings left on lower floors. Build just the right shape and then drop a five-square piece (or whatever you can fit) into it.

This is more complicated than what I wrote but I don't want to spend my morning writing a super long post about this.

I made the mistake of skipping a few castle upgrades because you sacrifice some men from your army to build it so I had to play through it more than necessary to get the 300 monarchs ticket.

This is Mii Force, right? I didn't like this game at first but I really love it now. Do you have any favorite boards? I mean, they're all pretty clever with the different themes (amusement park, under water, stone theme, etc). I'm not a big fan of shooter games but this one I really like with the different weapon types.

I have 64 of 80 flowers but now it progresses really slow.

Some things to keep in mind: People you meet multiple times give you seeds of rare plants. People you meet only once give you seeds of common plants. So if you're looking for a particular common plant, choose a plant in the same family with the same seed type to generate seeds. It will also help to choose a color that both plants share so this is where planting seeds with others help.

I only need the vouchers from the gold chests, but it's hard with a lot of small rooms on higher floors.

As soon as you reach the 50th floor, you'll battle the boss. When you defeat the boss, you'll see the game credits. After the credits finish, you'll get the chest with the plaza ticket. So don't bother trying to complete floors 100%.

Haven't posted in a while, but I am close to completing the Ultimate NES Remix Puzzle. After that, I have all of the puzzles completed with Pink Pieces. I also got the Eon Ticket last weekend in Omega Ruby, and I hope you guys get yours, too!

NYC keeps getting bigger for StreetPass.

This part stinks, mainly because some guy I always bump into is one of those cheat with 9,999,999 :/ I've seen others, but mainly this guy. I don't want to lose members of my team, so I opt out of fighting them. Only have less than 30 battles (most are wins). The critical hit looks tough, along with the two "beat a ___ army bigger than yours" ones.

In Mii Force I still need to do arcade and destroy both arms of the final boss. Oh and like 30 more easy run throughs.

Flower Town I need one more ticket, but I want to do all of the flower requests first (I'm at like 26) and grow the last ten flowers. No way am I doing the colour thing!

Gold chests in Monster Manor look tough too. Been trying strategies and finally figured out how to kick out people with pieces I don't want (yeah it took me that long). I think I'm halfway done all 50something puzzle boxes too (only one I had to look up).

Been a great adventure with these games! Got these as freebies from the $30 eShop credit promo, since I got addicted to and completed all 3 Find Miis. Cons and campus roamings have helped me out a lot.

Those 9,999,999 monarchs have been playing longer than you have. Once you reach 1M soldiers, getting to 10M is pretty quick since you get a lot more soldiers when you beat someone with a large army. The key to winning is having the ability to spy. Make sure you fortify your castle. The critical hit will happen randomly. The beat the army bigger than yours is also easy if you are able to spy.

I don't "get" the street pass weekends. I went to best buy and didn't get anything but a hit in smash brothers.

Not even a Mii!

Best Buy is hit or miss depending on which location I try for me. I have the best luck at Home Depot and McDonalds; this past weekend I got most of what I needed just by visiting four McDonalds locations on the way home (not even going that far out of my way; there really are that many around here).

So some might be legit? I just remember hearing about some clock cheat people can use to gain more armies. I've definitely been fortifying my castle every time it comes up (think it's at lv 10). 2 countries away from my first play through, so I've mainly been focusing on building my army and beating it first.

I heard something too that the critical usually happens when you win the first, lise the second, and win the last time? Something on how it betters your chances.

I'm not aware of any cheat. It's all a matter of beating others. The more wins you have, the more soldiers you'll get. It can be discouraging meeting others with huge armies and you have a puny one but there are others in the same boat as you so you can beat them. Slowly but surely, your army will grow.

Keep in mind that when you battle for a country, the opponent will scale up with you to be close in size to yours. So there's no real advantage to having a super large army other than beating another monarch.

Ohhhhh so it's not a guarantee!?

Can you hang outside the McDonald's and get a hit? Lol

What are you talking about? I hit 9999999 a few months ago, in the middle of my second run, without doing anything fancy. Nowadays I would expect 999999 to be very common amongst your streetpasses.

No, I have met and fought them all as it was the requirement. Meeting 300 DLC owners was hard, but it's a bit easier when you go to places like Best Buy on a launch day where there is a high concentration of gamers. I have encountered several DLC owners multiple times in game stores. Since I have 9 999 999 troops and infinite spying, beating them is just a formality. I have 2000+ SP tags and it still took me almost 1.5 years to get it done. Definitely the most ridiculous ticket requirement. Getting all the colours in Flower Town wasn't required to be awarded a plaza ticket, and I'm thanking Iwata every day.

Just got a new puzzle message today. I didn't have it two hours ago. It was Captain Toad for me, but I think that's not a new one? What are the newest puzzles? Was there a new one today? And if not, why did I get Captain Toad?

Also, does Starbucks not work any more for street passes? Where are the best places to go? McDonalds and....?

^ I got a Captain Toad notification in the evening too. It's new in NA, but it was already released in Japan. So many new puzzles after the drought earlier this year. Among the latest ones, I've completed Fantasy Life, the three Pikmin shorts, and I'm only halfway through Sonic Boom. I only have a quarter of Ultimate NES Remix and one pink piece. Now I'll have to focus on Captain Toad.

As soon as you get a ~3.5 - 4 million strong army you can beat every 9,999,999 army with the spy ability. I have now an army of 4,2 million at the end of my third run. Now I'm beating all the 9,999,999 guys to get there fast as possible.

Regarding Monster Manor you mean to go to a completed floor and kick them there because there parts doesn't fit or is there a faster method of getting rid of 'em?

With Warrior's Way, guess I'll have to do the "beat an army x bigger than yours" soon, since once I max out I guess it'll be kind of impossible! I'll need to remember to have play coins for spying, then. But yeah I get that it's possible now, but I did hear about a time reset to get infinite amount of play coins, which is the cheat I mentioned.

As for Monster Manor, yeah. It didn't even cross my mind to do that before, as I figured it wouldn't even work. Dumb there's no auto-dismiss on it, if you don't want the piece. Oh well, at least I know it's doable. Should be easier now to get silver/gold chests!

Oh, how is the "get one of every weapon" one? I assume there's a bunch that are gold chest exclusives?

but I did hear about a time reset to get infinite amount of play coins, which is the cheat I mentioned.

Yes, if you change the date to a different day, you can bypass the limit of 10 coins per day but you still have to walk or shake the 3ds to get 10 more coins. So there's still work involved.

I finally cleared out 4-1. Yes, you need green for the third gem. My mistake was not realizing that if you move quickly enough, you can get the second gem. I had thought the current was always there.

I'm stumped trying to clear 4-2. I have all but the third gem. Trying to resist looking at a walkthrough. Will try again tonight. I suspect that I haven't blasted all of the appropriate enemies to get the third gem.

I had to cave and look at walkthroughs eventually. The gems I missed had completely non-obvious requirements that I would have never figured out on my own, nor do I have any idea how I was expected to.

Yeah that's what I did. I had no idea where some of them are.

Grrr I'm behind on so many puzzles! Most people I run in too aren't up to date with the new panels, and I always use play coins for the actual games.

Completed all of the accomplishments for 4-2 in MiiForce. Was able to destroy all of the enemies to earn the third gem and thereby getting all 5.

Got whooped in 4-3. Wow, there's some serious dodging that you have to do and the boss is very challenging. It's interesting how each time you bet it, a smaller/tougher boss comes out. I was down to my last pod (flame) and just couldn't outlast it.

Will try again tonight. MiiForce is definitely my favorite Streetpass game. Second favorite is Flower Town.

I recently looked through the Mii Plaza challenge log and I found that there were a bunch that I hadn't completed for the original Find Mii since I had moved on to Find Mii 2 and the secret quest as soon as those were released.

I'm currently working on the 'Beat Find Mii with 30 or fewer Miis' challenge. I'm basically just spamming coins to get levels 7 Miis.

Question: Do levels effect non-offensive magic? I'm trying to figure out if it is more efficient to use pure attack power, or if I can get more bang for my buck by using status effects (such as light blue Miis to freeze or light green Miis to put to sleep). Also, to be clear, I am talking about the original Find Mii which has different rules from Find Mii 2.

I don't recall magic being affected by level. I would only use freezes/sleeps for things with very high HP.

Well, yeah. I am approaching the end of my run through and I'm trying to figure out the most efficient method (in terms of number of Miis used) for killing the last few enemies, which are basically damage sinks.

I street pass the same person almost every time I go to the gym (which, let's be honest, isn't that often). I'd like to meet that person for real but I look around and have no idea who it is, haha.

I got an Eon ticket yesterday, amazingly. Probably happened while I was at the mall. I live nowhere near NYC so it was quite a surprise.

In your face Mendel!

(Made slightly harder in recent days as homepass seems to have been further crippled but I had enough coins to coast on.)

In your face Mendel!

Awesome. I have a long way to go but I'm working on it.

I continue to plug away at Mii Force. Just battled the boss of 5-1 and won. I developed the strategy of always having 10 pods in Mii Force by hiring enough mercenaries to fill out my street pass. Also trying to complete the Amusement Park one by collecting all of the jewels. I think that's levels 3-2 & 3-3. Tough but fun.

So I streetpass between my two systems every day twice. Once in the morning before I leave for work and once in the evening.

Just did it now and one system got the streetpass and the other just got nothing. It got the data for the streetpass but nothing in Mii Plaza. Really frustrating to not get my tag to play the games I could earn tickets because of some weird snafu.
