3DS Streetpass Experiences

Got new Monster Hunter puzzle in NA but not JP so far. At least they gave me enough time to bank up 300 play coins again.

EDIT: 202 coins spent to fill out as much of the new Monster Puzzle as I could, an average cost of 6.52 coins per piece. For like the sixth time in the row, the last piece to arrive was the bottom-right corner.

that feeling when you get start a new puzzle and you don't get a pink piece :P

spent 30 coins, it's a start!

I usually only buy about that much at first, because it's easy for me to max out my streetpass hits every day that i commute. then I just wittle away at the puzzle as my coins start to top out again

So the MonHun puzzle is also in NA? Sure hope it's at the END of the list, this time. I want to focus on finishing my darn NES Remix one, but I also want to go back and finish the MonHun back there, so I don't need to keep scrolling to look for it.

It is :)

jesus christ another monster hunter one, like there's not other games out there

i don't think ive ever got a pink piece to start out

I used to almost always get pink. In fact I am not even sure if I ever got a non-pink piece on most of the earlier puzzles

but over the last, oh I don't know, maybe year?, I get a mix of pink and non pink, usually non pink.

I am wondering if Nintendo changed something in how the pieces are sent out...

Got a new 3DS XL so now i've got 3 to lug around.

Might go to Best Buy this weekend to get the special Aonuma and get 3 pinks across my systems from that.

I got all the blues on the new one already. Need 7 smash pinks and all 8 pinks on the new one.

Going to be a pain to get like 1500 pieces on my old XL. Can't decide if I want to get all puzzles first so that when a new one comes out I have 3 shots at a pink first or get a few puzzles at a time and use a ton of play coins to get blues.

Weather is getting warmer so I could probably hit up relays on the weekends to move things along faster :)

I've never had a free pink bit from the starting lottery, and I've been doing Streetpass stuff since launch!

My GF has though, if it wasn't for that with my luck I'd doubt you even could get them that way. :P

Me and my friend have noticed something strange with the new Monster Hunter puzzle:

We've been streetpassing a lot during the weekend and also passed through the Nintendo Zone several times. There were quite a lot of players who had all of the Monster Hunter parts - except one. In all of these cases the second part from the left in the second row (of the pink rows) was missing. How can that be?

Whoa, that's the same piece I'm missing.

Any one hit up Best Buy yesterday for the special Aonuma Mii?

I was at work all weekend - so, i missed out.

I honestly haven't used StreetPass or SpotPass much.

PAX East, this year when I finally remembered my 3DS, has invigorated my interest however. It's actually fun to collect Miis, play games, and get new hats and whatnot. Perfect for passive gaming, at least.

Have had all the hats for a while, but today I finally got my last two USA regions in one visit to the Nintendo World Store (Idaho and Montana). I've never taken the 3DS to a PAX or any sort of similar convention. Feels good. Feels real good

Got my 5,000th tag on Saturday, and #5000 was a Gold pants Mii from Germany! :D (The guy on the front row on the far left.) He was probably from Germany's version of the n3DSXL Best Buy event. Yes, this is almost entirely from Homepass, as random Streetpassing around here is not good. :)

I guess that one piece is last in line to be selected by default. This is why I always pick another piece than the one being proposed.

To be honest it could easily be a gateway user (you can dump extra data and edit your Miis to have golden pants).

Here is the default priority order for pieces in case anyone missed it:

So going back to ShadowOwl you mean piece 07, right. It is a little of people mash A so get pieces 01 and 02 a lot (almost to the extent that if I have almost all of 09-40 and they have one I'm missing I'll pick that instead) and also a little, none or not enough people in your area got piece 07. I suppose special Miis are a contingency plan for these situations. Unless you're European in which case you can just suffer instead :(

It took me three years of almost daily journeys which gradually spread out to include many different towns and countries to eventually get to 5,000 Streetpasses.
Knowing you can just sit at home and achieve the exact same thing makes me a little sad.

Having said that though, I'm not judging anybody who uses Homepass.
I realise it's the only option for many and for those who have no other choice I'm glad you get to experience the same games that have brought me many hours of enjoyment.

The launch of the New 3DS in Australia last year and MH4 in Feb has definitely rejuvenated the 3DS community on my uni campus. Getting 10 hits regularly walking around campus. Feels great!

Thing about Flower Town that bugs me is how limited garden space is. I've filled up all the expansions and I hate having to sell my plants. :(

This probably sounds dumb, but it's honestly made me a little less enthused about playing the game because I know every time I do I'll have to sell one of my plants.

I get this. I was disappointed to see that you can ONLY buy those expansions and that's it. No re-buying any duplicates or anything either. Oh well, I'm almost completely done with this with only 2 more flowers to grow and 2 more jobs. ....screw getting all of the colours :/

I'm still trying to clear arcade mode at normal. I can't help it but I go for all of the diamonds and gems. At this point, I have mastered the first six levels and can complete them without getting hit. I've been having trouble with Parade O Plunder. Specifically the spot with many bats and at the boss battle. Somive been taking a different strategy of going back to understand the safe spots in the level in case you have sucky weapons.

So I finally figured out the safe hiding locations for the bats. I also figured out a safe location when both bosses are on the screen.

Now I can get through the first nine boards with ease. I need to refresh my memory on the strategies for the Nautilus levels.

Still one of my favorite games on the 3DS. Never thought I would like shmaps as much as this one.

I finally have all colours in Flower Town. My journey started in this thread so I thought I'd post an update! I'm done with everything in all Mii Plaza games except for getting a gold medal in all Flower Town jobs. I'm working on that.

Good job. I just searched for your posts in this thread to see if you did clear MiiForce and apparently you did. I'm still trying to finish ArcadeMode. Hopefully will get there one day.

Arcade Mode was 45 minutes of torture just on normal mode. It took me three tries to complete it. I hired blue (4), light green (4) and light blue Miis (2). Light green Miis are the most useful from my experience so I saved two of them for the last strand. It worked out well.

First try: Got to 3-1, which is the hardest level to 100% in my opinion. I kept looking out for gems out of habit so that was my demise. Screw high scores.

Second try: Died at the beginning of the very last stage as I only had one Mii left. I didn't aim for gems this time, but the fact that I was stuck with mostly blue Miis by the end made me realize I needed to hire colours in a specific order.

Third try: Finished with four Miis (two light green in front, two blue as backup/level 2 power up). Even destroyed both Robo-Hands at the same time. My heart was beating so fast.

I haven't done hard mode though, so I haven't finished Mii Force... technically. I won't do it because it's pointless after getting all the tickets. I don't want to touch Mii Force ever again, lol.

Arcade Mode is annoying to practice just due to how long it is and I always want to rush through boring 1-1 to 1-3 :/ However last run I had a good setup and wanted to change my colours around, and ended up accidentally running into the bush-snake boss before the battle even started -_- I just gave up at that point, losing a pod so early on. I didn't even know I could control my pod before it started so yeah dumb mistake :/

McDonalds (UK) has suddenly stopped giving me passes :(

The only relay I hit these days.

At least I have a train buddy I have hit every day for three weeks.

Yeah, it's spotty in the U.S. as well. I really wish Nintendo would clarify the current state of Nintendo Zones. NoA's locator doesn't work for shit last time I checked. Just went to a newly opened Starbucks down the street, and got nada.

Yeah, I find Starbucks is 50-50. I still think Home Depot makes the less amount of sense to make as a pass, and with being one of the most reliable, doesn't help me since I barely ever shop there.

Indeed. I go there maybe a few times a year, and it's always reliable. It's a shame that the (most) reliable Nintendo Zones I can walk to are terrible fast food. I can always grab a coffee from McDonalds, but if I'm gonna shell out $2 for a coffee and some StreetPasses, I'd rather do it in the environment at Starbucks.

Just when I though I was out... they pull me back in

New games look great!
(extra footage from the Japanese Direct)

I need more info on this Premium Plaza though, all of my special 'VIP' Mii's have already auto-deleted and I'm not too eager to pay for the chance of collecting everybody's birthdays.
Hopefully they realise nobody ever in history will get 1 million passes and will edit the accomplishment list.
I imagine there will be new ones now to coincide with the new hats too.

Who else is looking forward to restarting the Plaza Ticket grind?

TBH I'm not sure how feel about this. Since I started playing Monster Hunter 4U I barely quit out of that software, let alone take the time to go through my streetpass que. My free time is fairly limited at this moment in my life, so I'm a lot more deliberate about how I spend my gaming time.

That said, I'm pretty positive that I won't be able to avoid the addiction that is Streetpass Plaza. And I'm already coveting those new hats (Splatoon!).

I did some digging into this Premium Plaza, soooo:

- There are 22 new Plaza Tickets and so presumably 22 new hats.
- Birthdays are added, each Mii you pass has their birth date registered on a calender
- Filling in an entire month rewards you with a Plaza Ticket...
- ...so you get 12 from the Birthday Calendar, meaning the two new games must have 5 each
- You can move any Mii into a special VIP Room where they'll never be deleted
- You're free to choose between the 7 BGM themes
- You can also listen to unlocked music in sleep mode with headphones
- You can choose which information to omit when you meet Mii's, speeding up the whole gate greeting sequence

That seems to be all of the changes.
Seems a bit weird to be a paid update, no?

Ha you sound just like me, I've just hit G-Rank and my every gaming moment is consumed by Monster Hunter... but I've got a serious weakness for Streetpass and its hats!

The zombie game looks great. I'll get the VIP pack too I guess, hopefully Homepass will make it possible to collect enough birthdays.

I see two new hats so far in the footage.

I never managed to get the last couple tickets from Mii Force :(

Bought the pack (for my JPN 3DS), haven't yet tried them. Seems you can now hide the games you don't play anymore, perfect for me.

Glad I just kept my tickets rather than just buying hats for the sake's of buying hats. Hopefully I can buy some of the new ones without having to get the new games.

Thanks for cataloging this.

It scratches every itch I have as a gamer. It has both harrowing combat and low intensity grinding/farming. There is no moment that I want to touch a game and have it not be Monster Hunter. And the end it nowhere in sight. The main reason I had previously played streetpass was to change the pace from more demanding games, but MH fully incorporates both paces.

It might be one of my favorite games ever.
