3DS Streetpass Experiences

I'm done with JPN street pass - 187 passes with 149 unique people. All the hats and all the puzzles done.

US machine had it's first streetpass run today and got 3 people. :D
 
Well I figured out the person I have streetpassed every day is the guy sitting right next to me in Early Human History class. We must be the only people in this whole school who have one!
 
Got a tag for the 4th time from the same guy in the cafeteria, still don't know who he is but I set the personal greeting to "Enjoy your meal" lol

At the rate I'm collecting Streetpass hits, I might be able to complete the Quest in about a year or two lol^^

So far I have had decent luck with Street Pass in two days. Monday 10 minutes within booting my 3DS up I got a hit, today I just got two hits during class.

Around here these are my options as far as dedicated game stores go: GameStop, GameStop, GameStop and... GameStop. :/

I have a pay and trade near by. I'll goto Gamestop before them though, since Gamestop has an inventory check. Play N' Trade, there is no way to know what they have ahead of time, nor the prices to expect.
 
Ahahaha, street pass is starting to become awkward. The guy next to me in my computer lab pulls out his 3DS and reads off my name and my profile information to his friends who are checking out the feature. I'm sitting here trying to act like I'm not the Mii he just found. :x
 
I got one in downtown Toronto.

It was some chick who named her Mii "Cookies". She likes sleeping and her msg was "Hi I'm Cookies".

My message would probably confuse her.

"I AM BATMAN"
 
Ok, so I got my first street pass bowling with friends last night. I have taken this thing with me everywhere so I was psyched when I finally got one.

One question though. I cant seem to use him in the Find Mii game or Puzzle game. Also, am I stupid, because I cant seem to get into the street pass plaza now?

You need to use them in the Find Mii and/or puzzle games as soon as you greet them. If you exit out after greeting them you lose your chance until you pass them again.

Why were you so awkward about it?

I would probably be awkward about it too, but usually when you're in class with people they can figure out your name easily.
 
No Streetpass hits still ... Can't wait till i get my baby out of grown up world and into an airport or something ... feels kinda nice sneaking the system around in my suit, tho...

Well it wasn't in class, it was in my Uni computer lab, so there are always people going in and out. I'm just an awkward anti social person in general though. :P

Seems that the two in my house being connected to the same internet meant it took ages to 'hit' and only did it when the internet was off but streetpass was on.

If you both are connected to the same internet (or maybe just using the internet) maybe it doesn't work.

When you're connected to Wifi, Streetpass is off. However if you put it in sleep mode street pass is back on.

Wifi on = no Streetpass
Playing without Wifi = Streetpass
Sleep mode = Streetpass

Are you talking about when you're actively online? I swear when I'm at home playing around in the menu the two icons switch back and forth. I'll check later and see if I was imagining things.

why would people turn on StreetPass for their game and not Mii plaza :/
 
I've had two streetpasses, one at Best Buy and another some time during the middle of yesterday (went a lot of places yesterday). I earned a Mario hat for my mii :)
 
I was in the dining hall on campus and I did StreetPass with someone named Zack that I had done it with twice before. His personal message was "STALKER!!!!" haha, and then I actually did StreetPass with him again, probably as he was leaving the dining hall.
 
After four days walking around with the 3DS I've only encountered about 3 people. Sort of shocked because I work at one of the highest volume game stores in the midwest and go to one of the biggest universities in the country.
 
After about a week of carrying my 3DS around and getting nothing, I got two in one day today. This morning while I was (presumably) walking to my finite math class, I streetpassed some dude. Later at work (I work in a coffee shop inside a grocery store), a customer's kid was playing a 3DS in a shopping basket. I saw that streetpass coming. But yeah, this whole streetpass thing is far more fun than I thought it would be originally.

Bahaha. I SpotPassed someone walking into my database class earlier and everyone crowding around the other guy's 3DS looked up at me, looked down at the Mii, and then looked at me again.

I thought it was amusing.
 
I walked into my local Future Shop where I originally bought my 3DS from, with it in my jacketpocket, was in there for probably 20 mins walking around the whole store... granted it wasn't busy, but I was surprised I had 0 hits.
 
I guess airports aren't the place to get them. I went from Denver to Chicago and back last week and Denver to Boston this week (return back to Denver at the end of the week) and not a soul.

Yes, yes. I'm sorry :(

School and then a spur-of-the-moment TERA purchase have been getting in the way, but I'll get to it! I finally have enough playtime in Pilotwings to do a review, and I've got a few hours into Okamiden as well but I don't feel it's enough to pass judgment just yet. I like to complete things before I try to evaluate them (unless they're terrible, which Okamiden is most definitely not).
 
Haven't had any tags yet in Boston. This is a really tech-savvy city, with a bajillion college students, but the fact is I think I can count on one hand the number of people I've ever seen playing a DS in public. Maybe I should try the mall.
 
Finally hit my first three people today on campus. I suppose I just needed for classes to resume to start getting hits. I knew I wouldn't be the only person around me to buy a 3DS.

I looked at the times I got them and around the place I was. I think I have all three in various of my classes, might just be hitting them constantly.

Good thing too, I was beginning to wonder if I had even set the damn thing up correctly.

Also I hit the limit pretty quick, just from walking around campus I hit 7k steps. Maybe I just walk a lot.

The problem is that I don't think it's as much "Wifi is on" as "Wifi is actively being used."

I say this because folks are reporting getting streetpasses in situations where the Wifi is clearly being polled on a semiregular basis, as it is also reporting friend list info.

I'm tempted to believe that when using an internet-heavy application (playing online, for example), Streetpass is disabled as the system would need to drop the net connection. However, as the friend list appears to be regularly polled, it's possible that normal background internet access (Spotpass/friend list/etc.) doesn't interfere with StreetPass.

Yes, I know what the manual says -- I'm just saying folks are getting Streetpass hits even when they have "Internet" access, as indicated by the Home screen and with friend list updates.
 
Got another one when I brought my 3DS to work at Wal-Mart. Had it in one of my extra pockets of my cargo pants. Got it at around 8:30 in the morning. That makes 4 so far.
 
Street Passed four more, today. Two from m uni class, the times would suggest (and would be my first from the university), and two from Futureshop. I think one was the cashier. Trying to recognize the Miis feels very creepy. Especially since realizing there is a second set of information under View Mii that includes birthday..
 
I sorta cheated. Needed printer ink. Brought my 3DS to Best Buy. Got a hit from the demo unit. "Most recently played: PilotWings Demo"

Oh, and the Demo Mii "daniel" missed all his attacks in Find Mii. Then he got tired and went home. Well, wasn't that everything I hoped for?

*sigh* Real people with 3DSes, I know you're out there.
 
There's a dude in my Java class that's always playing Pokemon. I get hits from him every day in class and its pretty cool. Highlight of the class for me :lol
