3DS Streetpass Experiences

Well I can see where he is coming from now but if you check the magic's description in-game it's all super-obvious imo - that's why I don't see the need to spoiler tag.

No worries I just thought the surprise is kinda cool, if that's how it happens for some people.

The surprise for me was actually getting such a shirt. I hired dogs like a mofo before but to no avail (prior it wasn't a problem getting white shirts for some reason, they were also useless of course at that time).

You know with this and all the countless doubles I get in Puzzle Swap in the search for the last missing piece of the Mario puzzle I can't help but to think this is deliberate :-).

Streetpass has been ok for me until recently. Me and my friend at college can no longer StreetPass with each other on the Mii Plaza. We've street passed 10 times now and it's stopped but it's still occasionally working on Street Fighter

Thanks to my recent convention travels, I'm now at 354 StreetPass tags in the Mii Plaza. Found all the puzzle pieces and cleared one round of Find Mii without having to spend any of my precious Coins! Still, I wonder if I'll find some sort of cap on the Mii Plaza's size.

I got two yesterday which was really exciting and sort of unexpected. One was at Wendy's. The other was at fred meyer's. For whatever reason on the first one I didn't get any Mii street pass data. But both of them I got for SSF4... and I won both times :) All of this was quite shocking considering I didn't think I was going to get hardly any.

I got 7 tags on Friday night at Metrotown mall. That was the most I've ever gotten in a day.

Also, does anyone know how the Music App. Street Tags work? I've gotten a few, but when I go in the app. I don't see anything different.

Is the little bird blue? Tap him if he is.

I got a hit today from my car. Drove past a gamestop in a strip mall and when I parked I noticed the green light. Kinda sucks to get an obvioulsy fake person (game last played = Street Fighter Demo), but I was surprised at the range.

I've had a few hits that I couldn't figure out where they came from -- they may very well have happened while I was sitting in traffic.

This Spring break I've taken my 3DS everywhere.. Birmingham, Blackpool, York, London and no hits at all since getting some before the holidays. Now I'm heading back to Uni today through central London.. I want to see that hit!

Got a weird one today.

I was playing SSFIV on my lunch break in the lunch room of my department store when my 3DS's Green light went off indicating I just got a street pass. There was no one in the room I could have gotten it from. Turn out it was someone called "gayjohn" on the other side of the wall looking at TV's! How far of a reach does this thing have?

Meh owned since launch (technically a day before) and have been out walking with it every, single day since. Have a total of 5 hits. 2 were from GAME stores, 2 from relatives and only 1 actual person in over a quarter of a million steps.
Just plunged coins into the Quest and completed it that way :(

Was walking through Times Square this weekend and got over 10 hits! First time I've ever had more than one when taking it out-and-about. What's more fun than spreading STDs?

streetpass transmission data, of course...

Got a bunch of folks at a horror convention in TX. Streetfighter and Clone Wars hits aplenty, but no SWC or Nintendogs.

Wonder if I will ever encounter them again.

The only two places I ever get StreetPass tags is at my work (two of my coworkers have 3DS'es) and GameStop (most of the employees have 'em). I had an opportunity for a tag at a hockey game I went to -- saw someone a few rows down playing their 3DS during intermission -- but I didn't bring mine with me.

Got two more hits while the 3DS was recharging at home (forgot to put it in the cradle before going to bed). Was surprised to see the green light - I am living on the 2nd floor and the cradle is like a meter away from the next outside window facing the street.

But Streetpass Quest can be puzzling sometimes. With 7 heroes (two of them green) I couldn't lay a single hit on the boss. They missed ALL their swings even while the ghost was asleep - how the f*ck is that even possible?

The level 1 guys will almost always miss, unless they manage a critical hit. It could also just've been bad luck :P

I've only received three street pass tags so far:

- Target demo kiosk
- local Gamestop employee girl

And my most recent one occurred when I was shopping at Costco with my wife over weekend. I guess that's the first "real" tag I've gotten so far and I was pretty stoked to see the blinking light when we got back to our truck.

Not in my experience, they hit but just score zero damage on armored enemies. That time everyone missed, also the level 2 dogs.

Does anyone go OUT of their way to walk by nerdy/stereotypical video game looking people in hopes that they have a 3DS on them?

Hahah seriously at work (at a Community College) I purposefully walk by a group of kids playing Magic: the Gathering and Warcraft or something in hopes one on them has a 3DS.

...they never do :(

Yeah I've starting doing this as well and it has worked out well for me. I just completed Find Mii for the first time.

I get the street pass cap (roughly 10) daily. It helps when a bunch of your co-workers have them.
I thought that was just the cap for the number you can have at one time - you can "reset" it by using the heroes you get from StreetPassing, no? So you get 10, check out your tags, then you could get another 10? This is how people have been getting dozens in one day from conventions and such.

Absolutely! If I see a nerd/hipster or a younger kid (or better yet a herd of them) ahead of me on the other side of the street I will cross nonchalantly to try to get as close as possible. Never works - my hits have been when I didn't notice any stereotypes around me. Gamers come in all kinds of packages, I suppose. I should realize this - I'm a totally normal (-looking) 30-year old man who's often in a suit on my way home from work, 3DS in-pocket...

Just wanted to quote this sentence out of context :P

I've had 9 Streetpass hits over 2 days walking around Liverpool city centre. I've been into the various specialist stores (Game, Gamestation, etc) and got a few hits that way. One of the hits in Gamestation was named 'gamestatio' and had a greeting of 'g8 trade in' or something like that. I thought it was pretty funny that they were trying to advertise like that.

I've also had a 3 SSFIV hits, and one for Nintendogs from a girl with a crown who wants to be a super hero when she's older. (Aside: I thought you could unlock new dogs with Streetpass?)

Oh, and some guy named Steve works somewhere in Liverpool. I've met him twice now...

You can, it's just you must streetpass with somebody with a different version from yours. Just check the Breeder store, you'll most likely have something else available aside from the 9 starter breeds for your version. After some StreetPasses, I already have 19 dog breeds available.

We have talked about it, and I don't think anyone at my work has had more than 10 total in a single day, even with clearing them out regularly (once every 1-2 hours). It might have something to do with getting duplicates in the same day. I've passed the same person 2 times in a single day before, but if I'm near 8-10 passes that day I'm not very likely to get a duplicate.

Got my first hit today picking up some new 3DS Games at Best Buy. (Got my 3DS on Sunday, and haven't had the wi-fi on. No wonder I hadn't gotten any previously.)

What a neat concept. Going to start leaving it running all the time. (Also helps that my wife is crazy for her pedometer/how many steps she's taken each day, so now I can participate with that.

EDIT: I just realized that the hit was probably off of the 3DS Demo Kiosk. I feel kind of dumb now.

this thing is getting better, i kind of start getting green light regularly in my daily activity when i bring my ds out, i dont get it everyday, but its quite often and at some place i didnt think i would get some random hit (restaurant, grocery shopping..etc)

Finally got a white-shirt hit. For other people's convenience I've also changed my Mii's shirt to white.

Finally got a mothereffing Pikmin puzzle piece. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE PIKMIN!!! Hnnnnnng.

Seriously. Been walking around, getting 10 coins a day for a week, and I still haven't gotten a white Mii dog.
No way favorite animal actually affects what hero you get? I want to see what a dog Mii looks like.

The really stupid thing besides what you said is you can't cycle through your Miis when you're in the room. So all the Miis and good Miis you've gotten through Streetpass walk away until you reach the White Mii. sSupid.

I picked up my first two over the weekend, I got the greetings which was fun, but now they're just sitting in the plaza behind me. I couldn't find any new options for encouraging them to go to my rescue and when I tried the puzzle game it said there was nobody to meet. I had to exit out of the game just after the greeting, I hope that didn't mess things up.

I like the way this expands social gaming--it has a real world element that gives it more substance and encourages people to get out more--win, win.

That's exactly it. It happened to me on my first Streetpasses as well. It's really dumb of Nintendo to do that and I hope they patch it soon (if they can).

I knew I should have waited! I was (doing what Nintendo wanted and) showing the DS to a friend because she wanted to see the 3D so I switched to a game! I feel like I betrayed these chivalrous kids (one which wanted to travel and even visit outer space, and one which seemed to be a very brave japanese girl) and denied them a chance to come to my rescue.

Oh well, it still made my trip to the acquarium more exciting. Not that I don't like acquariums, they're pretty cool, especially ones with sea otters--the way the rub their hair like they're applying shampoo...
