3DS Streetpass Experiences

Always bring my 3DS into work, and tend to get 2-3 streetpasses. At the moment I'm annoying my coworkers with my coin rush totals. My coin rush totals are halfway to the
30,000
cap and I think my coworkers are getting jealous. They need
to complete the main singleplayer game and get that golden fire flower bonus
already

If I complete a puzzle with all but the pink pieces, does it stop rolling for that puzzle when spending your play coins, like when a puzzle is completed, or will it still include the unfinished puzzle?

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but industry events like E3 are absolutely insane for streetpasses. I got several hundred passes and drained my battery each day.

Once all the Blue Coins are gotten for a puzzle, it'll stop including that puzzle in the available pool for blue coin purchases.

Do you ever get a streetpasser whose message is their twitter account? Do you have your own message as this? If the former have you ever tweeted someone as a result of this and if the latter have you received a tweet from a fellow passer?

I originally had my message set to "SPAAAAAAAAACE!" or something along those lines (and still have my dream set as "go to outer space" to match this), but I started seeing Twitter usernames in conventions too. I generally didn't do anything with them unless they were from people I knew (in which case there wasn't anything to do with them), but I ended up copying the example and putting my Twitter username in there anyway.

I don't think I've gotten many if any follows from this, but it made identification of my Mii easier for people who know me primarily by my handle.

Never ran into a twitter account. I admit to putting a short Facebook url for my local Streetpass group, and have seen other people's Facebook, or even Deviantart sites. On guy had a link that lead to a very bad web-comic, I hope wasn't his...it stunk so bad.

I have... or websites when I'm at conventions. Makes no sense to me. I can't screencap and I'm not going to stop to write it down.

I had mine as "Horsebag Headhat" (when I had Epona on my head) for a bit... back to "Lo'tar ogar" since I'm pumped for Mists. Usually like things that make people smile if they get it.

StreetPassed someone last night from Argentina but was then bummed when it didn't really unlock because they didn't have a "state" listed. Damn you people! Get specific! I want my countries!!

I used to, but after one trip to a convention I realized that people scroll past that info in Mii Plaza way too quickly to care. However, I had it on my card in Dissidia (and one other game that used a similar feature... maybe TWEWY?) and recipients did send me a tweet or two.

I suppose you could make a Mii with a Creator Name as a mini-URL. Set that Mii up for StreetPass, and anyone receiving it would have your URL permanently set.

Mii Creator names can be 10 characters long, although no numbers are allowed, nor the @ symbol.

You could use go.to/xxxx -- any 4 character name there.

It's strange that they disabled the @ symbol. Guess to prevent you adding an email address, but how many emails can you fit in such a short message? @gmail.com uses up 10 character.

I've met plenty of people that have tinyurl links for their Streetpass message. Someone even ran a 'guest book' for people to sign that had streetpassed him. Pretty interesting.

Since starting back at university I'm getting like 8 or 9 passes every day :D

Anyone at
a certain large university in Atlanta
getting passed by a Mii that's white dude with glasses named Jo? That's me, hehe.

Man, streetpasses make me feel giddy like a teenage girl

Last weekend was the first time I brought my 3DS to an Anime convention, and oh my, what a crazy amount of streetpasses. I easily got the 100 streetpasses in one day achievement and getting 5 females in a row was a piece of cake.
Unfortunately, there was one pink piece that nobody seemed to have, and there weren't many foreigners, so my map still isn't very impressive.

I have recently unlocked the
chain chomp hat
So my hilarious(?) Streetpass message is "My head hurts..."

How does this work?

My girlfriend and I go around the shopping area (never splitting), yet we end up with:

For Example:

I have 4 passes and she ends up with 6? What's going on?

Sounds about how it is with my boyfriend and I. I will always end up with a few more than he does, or vice versa.

Haha that's great. I don't understand the StreetPass "physics" of picking up street passes. At a convention in Georgia (Momocon) I picked up only like 23 one day and my boyfriend got over 38. I was jealous lol then the next day came and I ended up with way more than he did....who knows

My guess would be that the 3DS sends out a streetpass signal every 10 seconds or so, and in that timeframe, you might already be too far away from someone who walked by you, while the other 3DS got it just in time. I could be wrong though.

I find walking and checking on the 3DSes and if one shine's its green light, pause a bit, and the the gets the Streetpass information as well. The range is pretty far, so even just pausing a bit helps.

Not directly related to Streetpass, but my machine is having an odd error:When I walk to get the mail, I usually walk with my 3DS and then put it away until I need to go somewhere else. I usually net 1,000 to 1,500 steps per trip. Lately, however, I ran into my step counter being reset, if I leave the system idle for over a couple hours or two. I still get the 10 coins I earned the day, but the steps don't even exist in the records!

Weird, I may back up and reformat my SD card and see if that is an issue.

It's much quicker than that in my experience. I can pass by a Gamestop, being directly in front of the store front for less than three seconds, and still receive the streetpass. I guess the only concern is if multiple streetpasses are available; My wife will sometimes pick up passes I don't receive, and I'll get some that she didn't receive, even while we're out together.

1) get 3 friends up to lvl 7
2) rehire them till you run into a roadblock
3) rehire people with the right shirt color according to the gamefaqs guide
4) if you ballin, consider buying a cheap 3DS to hook yourself up with tags/friends

5) ALWAYS keep some spare coins before sending your troops to fight. There's one enemy that casts a spell that highly raises the odds that your units may not attack, so it's better to use 1 or 2 Miis to buy a potion that cancels the spell. It definitely beats losing all your level 7 Miis before they even get to attack.

When you have a good group of high level players, wait until you have 300 coins before going in. Buy 2-3 high levels and 2-3 more. Only play those 2-3 main unless it's a special requirement (try to plan ahead for those). Spam Vial of Valor to keep bringing back those 2-3 guys, preferably in team form.

Reason:
Buying a Lvl. 1 guy is 3 coins, and it goes up a coin per level. => Two level 5s is 14 coins. However, Vial of Valor is 8 coins. Therefore using a Vial of Valor to bring back high level players is cheaper than buying them at the start of a round.

Find Mii II tips plz.

How do I make this as efficient as possible?

Know the routes, so you don't end up wasting coins on recruiting. Double magic with level 7s (especially red) is good early on in Secret Quest, because it will OHKO everything including enemies hiding behind dual coloured shields. But later if you're no longer OHKOing monsters with the magic, it's better to just do a group attack because of the critical chance, even if the magic output is better (ie; 8,8,8,8 vs 40, I'd rather take the chance on the crit).

For the final fights, where you're just hacking away. Bringing two level 7s per usual and two wandering Miis is great; group attack with the level 7s and then potion of valour to bring them back with one of the wandering Miis. Group attack again, then potion of valour with the other wandering Mii to bring all three of the previous back. You don't want more than two wandering heroes, or you could accidently bring back a wandering hero over your level 7. You can do this as long as you can afford it. And it's far cheaper than buying level 7 Miis.

Thankfully, we're a three 3DS household and Toronto is a great spot for passing too. So I don't really worry about spending coins. ;)

Thanks guys.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Level 7 Miis yet. I think 5 is my max, and even still for some reason I won't get his dude StreetPassed every time I go near him anymore. I think that'll change soon now that I go back to school though. Up until now I just get 10 coins, hire 5 dudes and go back in, repeat, but it seems like that's less effective in Find Mii II. Should I always roll in with StreetPassed Miis and stop hiring wandering heroes altogether, even if none are Level 7?

Is there a more efficient route/series of routes for acquiring everything there is to acquire? Been googling around to see, and there doesn't appear to be something like that. I ask because apparently there are different keys involved that require different areas completed for some, and I don't really see any consistent criteria for what needs to be done for each key. It always varies wherever I go.

Is the GameFAQs guide the best to use?

EDIT: Wait so if I have this correct.. I have to do Find Mii II three times and then the Secret Quest about 5 times at least to get all the hats? Didn't realize they had different hats, I thought the Secret Quest just opened up more areas -.-'

Uh, I'm pretty darn sure that groups cannot crit. Period. (Making pink magic on groups a TERRIBLE idea)

Also, Enzo, you can hire up to three people you've streetpassed before every time you go in, so wandering heroes a less useful.

Also also, you'll need to beat the Secret Quest TEN times (roughly) to get all of the hats.

So I was back home in California for just over a week and I barely got any streetpass hits! A couple when I was in San Jose and San Francisco, but otherwise not much.

I finally finished getting all of the pieces for the NSMB2 puzzle. (after I got back to Japan) I'm still surprised not many people have the McDonald's Big Mac puzzle. (shown a few pages back)

I have been getting more and more street passes and when I say more its usually 0 but now I get about 3 or so here and there. I work on campus so I figure I woudl get more but maybe im just not going where the gamers are.

I have "Pimps Don't Cry" for my message lol

I don't think a friend with a Japanese 3DS had the McDonald's puzzle either. Did you have to do something special to get it?
Go near a McDonalds. Then I got one piece of the Big Mac puzzle (my gf as well on her 3ds.) After that it was just via streetpass (with other JP 3ds systems) that I collected the rest of the pieces.

I was going by the McDonalds to get the special daily download present for DQM: Terry and that's when the Big Mac puzzle piece showed up.

Sorry in advance for asking a question which I'm sure has been answered many times before, but could someone please confirm if all Streetpass data is stored on the 3DS rather than on the SD card? I'd like to get my XL replaced; it managed to scratch itself the very first time I brought it on my commute without a cloth sandwiched between the screens. Curse my hubris! I've only been taking it along with me for the past three days (and I have yet to purchase anything from the eShop), so at least there isn't much to potentially forfeit - I just wanted to know what to expect.

Sadly, said friend who owns a Japanese 3DS lives in Toronto, and I doubt it works with McDonald's there (or in the US).

AGHH! I have been one piece away from completing the Rhythm Heaven puzzle for like four months now. Its not even a pink piece! I spend all of my coins on random pieces because no-one I street-pass with has it either, and it just gives me pieces to other puzzles.
