3DS Streetpass Experiences

jufmwQt.jpg

And all I have to show for it is this screenshot I luckily took. There's no accomplishment!

As a Streetpass abuser, I can exclusively reveal that this took 641 Streetpass hits, approximately 590 of which are from my launch unit!

Still need 73 pink puzzle pieces though. I have all the blue ones

There are a couple of accomplishments I can go and get in Streetpass Quest 1 now, but other than that, I have reached the depths of optimal Streetpass abuse, short of resetting my launch unit over and over again and changing data such as home regions and such, which I am not going to do. If I felt as though there was a chance I would get pink pieces in the process, I'd consider it, but having alreay gone through the process about 20 times in order to unlock all of the puzzles myself, and getting exactly zero pink pieces in the process, no. At least until we get a special Mii visit here in the UK.

Also, as a side note, it is clearly apparent that the number of Streetpass activated 3DSs doing the rounds has increased lately. I've got three in the past couple of weeks, which is huge for the corner of the countryside in which I reside.

It's so hard to find someone using Streetpass here in Madrid.

I always connect it on my travels from home to work and back and rarely I get one or twoo Miis.

It's for beating the last boss of either Streetpass Quest 2 for the third time or the last boss of the Secret Quest for the third time. I can't remind which because they are both the same hat but different colours.

Also pro tip when you are posting massive images from imgur, add either an s, m or h at the end of the url but before the file type to resize it.

does anybody here know how to obtain this really cool hat?

1. When your images are large, put them in
tags, even if you're not quoting someone. It'll make them smaller, but can still see the original size by clicking on them. (See the quote of your post here, for example.)

2. It comes on the third-playthrough of Find Mii 2.
The even cooler version of that hat comes on the third-playthrough of Find Mii 2: Secret Quest.

Probably not necessary to spoiler parts of Streetpass Quest 2/Find Mii2, but just in case...

Poison room requires two yellow-shirts next to each other in the queue, right? I only have one yellow in my previously-met list. Can I summon a Mii twice in one day? Or can I summon them once and then again on the day after?

No and no, you need two at the same time in a single queue.

So I finally figured out why demo units* never have the advanced puzzles...no SD card=no spotpass and the advanced puzzles are all spotpass. Some people troll the units too by enabling parental settings and disabling streetpass :( But yeah in my travels I passed a few stores with units with basic puzzles fully complete and visited by many hundreds of Miis (potentially more but nobody bothers to clear the queue, I kind of lose incentive after dual wielding 3 pairs of systems only to have the queues dropped into the plaza as soon as I'm done, the amount of people I mistakenly rated as so-so too, sorry :( ).

In my travels I was quite surprised to come across two people with 7 pink pieces for Luigis mansion (Europe btw so Miyamoto abuse). If they passed each other they would each have all 8...

Also a fair number of streetpass hits 0-1...

*-well those without the demo cart that disables the system menu...(aka: Nintendo why do you hate streetpass?)

haha sorry about that, thanks for the tip!

ohhh man, it's hard enough finishing find mii more than once!

I briefly hung around at a Nintendo/GAME event today and only received one streetpass.

Admittedly the event was pretty low-key, but still somewhat disappointing.

I just got 3DS XL, but I'm trying to figure out how to get Kid Icarus: Uprising Panel for Puzzle Swap? (Also I would like to download other games' panels as well.)

Do anyone know how to get them or is it too late to get them?

It's never too late, just have to StreetPass people and hope they have a piece to the puzzle you want. Is the XL your first 3DS?

I always thought 3DS doesn't appeal to the anime crowd, but man going to a cosplay convention net me 40~ street passes! Managed to get all released boards available and filled some of the pink areas of the ones I aim to get first!

Going with what everyone else has said. Make sure the get the spotpass update that unlocks the new puzzles* (they're added onto the SD card). With it you should get a notification that gives you a free one from a random puzzle (whicxh there is a small chance of it being Kid Icarus).

*-If you're missing the content you can see the puzzle but it is completely empty and you won't be able to get pieces (I missed a few Fire Emblem passes last week because of that).

Thank you for the advices. I managed to got Kid Icarus: Uprising and other missing panels. Now I am going to focus on getting pink panels first then focus on rest later.

Pink pieces only come via SpotPass and StreetPass. Don't be disappointed when your coins only get you the blue ones!

In Madrid, it always depends on your schedule. On my daily commutes I pick 2-3 a day but other days I've moved around Metro Line 6 for any reason on college start/end hours I've been flooded with 5-6 on a single trip. FNAC and Game in Callao are great for streetpassing, especially on weekends. Also, you can get other countries' Miis easily if you hit El Rastro, but it's a little bit hit and miss, going to be much better in Summer with all the tourists.

Edit: Expomanga is next month, I can assure that you could spend a whole day just clearing the queue only to see it fill up again by the time you're done.

I bought my 3DS today. Turned it on and took it on the bus with me. 5 mins later and I've met 2 Miis already. Kind of interesting, wanted to share.

The other day I got a StreetPass hit while in my house. Freaked me out a bit, as in two years it's never happened before! Fully detached and I wasn't really sitting anywhere near the facade, so it's a little weird. Didn't think the range was so great, especially through multiple walls.

after my time with the 3ds so far 39 tags in almost 2 years is pretty bad. I need to go to a convention or something and using play coins for everything makes find mii 2 and puzzle swap impossible.

Went into boston to lexington. 3 Miis and two of those gave me fire emblem streetpasses! (though they were horribly low level)

Went back from lexington to boston, got 2 miis.

The level of the Miis in Find Mii is simply based on how many times you've passed that particular Mii. Every last one starts at level 1 unless you passed that one multiple times before visiting the plaza gate.

Given a chance, which do you guys think is more ideal with a streetpass visitor - fill up a nearly completed puzzle or choose a pink piece?

just got back from Disney world , I was getting about 15 street passes a day at the parks. Half of those were from Disney employees. Pax east seems to be the best as I would get about 40 a day

Did you get a lot of international hits? I always imagined Disney World would be a great place to fill up your map.

Cosplay cons are crazy for hits. Makes me wish there wasn't a ten-Mii limit before you have to use them.

Whenever I go I usually get a few good international hits. A lot of Japan and EU people.

Pink piece always, because they're exclusive to streetpass.

If you don't, make sure you go to PAX or a huge convention because you're screwed otherwise.

Last 2 streetpasses. One had no pink pieces (fair enough, given how the puzzles started were Kid Icarus and FE I'd say they bought the system for the latter...or just coincidential timing) and the other seemed to be someone who had not gotten the spotpass updates (so only had basic puzzles).

I enocounter quite a few of the latter (still seems the 3DS has some way to go with connectivity). I guess its harder to notice as you fully complete basic puzzles (as you'll just get told "no new pieces" instead so can't check their completely empty advanced baords).

Nealry completed might be better as hopefully people being sensible will always go pink piece which actually makes them more common than the blue pieces (which I can see getting annoying when a puzzle is at 39/40). But then there is the issue of that blue piece you will rarely get with coins (so could get later) while you will never get a pink piece.

Doesn't a puzzle being complete mean you won't be drawn pieces to it so blue would aid overall progress if it fully completes but weirdly enough might hinder completion in the long run (due to the missing pink pieces).

Though to be honest outside of going to lots of cons (or having a local person who has done so) you're probably doomed in beating the puzzles either way...

At least not finding any yellow-shirted Miis to progress in Quest 2 is letting my stockpile coins.

I apparently had my first Fire Emblem pass today, but it wasn't immediately obvious how that manifested in my game.

I'm the total opposite : P

I occasionally get people with next to no StreetPass hits pass me by at home, presumably on the bus or a car (I live near a main road).

Got 14 hits at the Renaissance Fair in Los Angeles 2 weeks ago. That's the most I've gotten in LA. Didn't think I would get that many there. Has anyone gotten a lot of people at the LA / Orange County Fair?

I usually walk through The Grove a couple of times a week and get lucky if I get one at all. All those hundreds of people, no 3ds ;_;

I also drive around 30 miles a day and no hits either. I really miss japan for this. In a small town I got around 50 people in less than two days without doing anything special.

In San Francisco, I'm guaranteed at least 1-3 streetpasses but dammit if none of them have the blue pieces that I need right now... T_T

I'm so so so close to completing Luigi's Mansion... I just need two and then I'm done with all puzzles.

Would be too easy then, haha. Be grateful it doesn't keep drawing pieces from puzzles whose blue pieces are all in possession, but remain incomplete.

I've wasted nearly 100 coins (I've regained them all back and am sitting on 300) the past few weeks on Luigi's Mansion and every piece I've drawn I already have... Out of those coins, maybe only less than 10 were totally new pieces.

I'm 1 piece away now but man... People need to update their 3DS' more so that I can get puzzle pieces for ones I need. Nearly all whom I streetpass have no new pieces.

Thank you C2E2! I got soooo many tags it was crazy. I managed to reduce my Pink Pieces needed from 65 to 6. All I have left is NSMB2 and Kirby's Return to Dreamland. I grabbed all the Luigi's Mansion Pink Pieces as I felt those would be the hardest due to how recent the puzzle is.

Went to the Star Trek TNG special on Thursday night and was doubly disappointed. 1) No one dressed up. Closest was the toy phaser I brought and the purple scar on my face to look like Calhoun. 2) No streetpasses. Trek geeks without 3DSs? Nintendo is missing their target audience big time.

Today's Streetpass meetup didn't have many people come (for some reason I got no tags despite having it on the home screen with wireless on in my pocket the whole time). Was able to play 4-player Four Swords Adventure on GameCube for the first time ever, though! :D

Yeah, it's quite frustrating to walk by the centre of the town for hours on a Saturday evening and be back at home with just 2-3 tags.

Worst thing is that I haven't noticed any increase in the number of tags I get here over the years...

You know, every now and then I go to Nintendo of America campus and walk around, hoping that one day I'll get a street pass from Sakurai, Iwata, Miyamoto or fuck even Reggie. No luck so far.
